What a pathetic weasel Oliver Is.

Posted by: BL@KBIRD at December 17, 2007 12:45 AM

Is this Murray Oliver the son of Craig Oliver?

Posted by: dave at December 17, 2007 5:05 AM

dave, I don't think so :D

Google is your friend.

Posted by: Zip at December 17, 2007 5:52 AM

You know Zipper, I hate idiots that spout off without knowing anything.

From the CTV site:

"Murray Oliver, correspondent, Kampala, Uganda . . . . It‘s a long way from the Canadian prairies where Oliver, son of Craig Oliver, CTV’s Parliamentary Bureau Chief, got his start in television journalism."

Here's the site for reference:
http://ctvmedia.ca/ctv/releases/release.asp?id=6257&num=2&yyyy=2001

So yes he is Craig's son and Zippy, google is you friend and perhaps you should use it before answering.

Oliver or any other Hack with Liberal genes would never want any good news to get through from Afghanistan. It's down to a communications glitch, yeah right. Good news crackles out so they can crap out.

The freaking Liberals are so wishing they could tar the Conservatives with Afghanistan totally. Alas they're stuck with what their venerable Leader, Jean Poutine did without a vote in the House, committed troops to Afghanistan. The Conservatives are left to do whatever it takes to finish the job so the Liberals and their Hacks are yelping on that.

They're all outed now, people see exactly the sort of Political games they're playing.
It's disingenuous, hypocritical and dangerous. It makes this Country look foolish and unstable. That never stops the Left, their agenda comes first.

CTV doesn't care about the troops.

It's Christmas time so you think on a daily basis they would have a few soldiers on the air to say Merry Christmas to their families.

CTV is a garbage station and its liberal agenda is disgusting.

I still can't figure out why there is no Conservative station on the air in Canada.

What the hell is going on?

Its b.s.

OReilly and Geraldo who both just returned fron Afghanistan were on Fox Friday nite and both spoke in superlatives of work being done by Canadaian troops there.
Beautiful to hear them speak that way - when was the last time you heard a Canadian reporter speak that way???

Posted by: peter benyk at December 17, 2007 9:47 AM

CTV - pooched this story in a big way.
Misreported the facts and omitted significant details then on the TV news this morning extended interview with the "turd on the ground" minimizing the accomplishments and going on with anecdotal tales of failings and unresolved difficulties.
Some of the worst reporting seen since the Canadian media first went to the Asian battlefield.
Top that off with CNN's blatant push to changed the channels from Iraq and continue the old theme of the Strategy is Failing and US needs to "rethink" it's strategy..... substitute Afghanistan for Iraq and you've heard it ALL before.
CNN = Certainly Not News!
CTV ..... No damned better

Canadian TV news has perfected the art of "under reporting" news which danages their lomg tem propagated story line.

If you had been reflexively running down CPC policy and attaching the Afghan mission to them,(even though this is a reversal in your previous support of the mission when the Liberals started it) can you afford to damage this intense expenditure of influential currency by fully reporting news which tells a different story?

Watched Canada AM this morning. The very positive story about our troop's victory against the Taliban should should have been the lead story. Wasn't. Lead was storm in Ontario, second was about some nutty family in Winnipeg that don't want their 84 year old father to be taken off life support............anyways, Canadian Military victory piece was about tenth. And I can't watch CBC, cuz its even worse.

Fox News wants you, conservative canucks, to join their audience!! If you can't beat 'em, abandon 'em. I haven't watched network news or CNN since the first IRAQ engagement.

By the way, keep your cotton-picking frigid blasts north of the 49th, if you don't mind. Try to inhale around here and one's lungs collapse.

Hey!! This last blast originated in Texas...we'll have to blame GW...that's your POTUS,not globull warming!..lol.

Even the CTV so-called polls are silly.

It would be more believable if another country mentioned the quebec troops?
Not likely eh?

Posted by: hirum at December 18, 2007 2:15 PM

If you want to find real stories of hour our troops are doing in Afghanistan, drop by The Black Rod.

He's got a pretty good series going there....

How many years left?

Ever studied military theory?
Ever heard of the economics of war?
Never heard of a slow bleed?
