The Sound Of Silenced Science

Planet Gore;

Just as Gore has refused requests to debate the warming threat, Bali organizers cancelled a scheduled press conference Thursday morning by the International Climate Science Coalition (ICSC) - a group of international scientists who protest the scientific basis of climate alarmism.

It’s the second such incident in a week.

The Heartland Institute reports that “earlier in the week. . . (UN official) Barbara Black interrupted the press conference and demanded the scientists immediately cease. She threatened to have the police physically remove them from the premises. (In addition) ICSC scientists have been prevented from participating in panel discussions, side events, and exhibits.”

What did Galileo do?

Well, Leftards? and why?

They can try and stop the truth, but they will not have enough fingers to handle their ever more leaking dike.

Then we can watch them drown . . .

Need any more proof their ship is listing badly?

They sure as hell are faltering and anything but secure in their skins.

Anyone who can't debate another opinion, especially in the field of science, is a charlatan of the first order. Gore comes to mind, a typical Leftoid not capable of reasoned debate on anything. He's not an environmental scientist but has the stupidity to ignore those who are.

Posted by: Liz J at December 14, 2007 4:04 PM

It's all so simple. Just rewrite the definition of *consensus* and concurrently deny access to any dissenters.

To the AGW proponents: how do you explain this? What are you afraid of?

Posted by: Yoop at December 14, 2007 4:05 PM

Poor soul how she must have wished all dissenters could be sent off to the gulag. The promoters and supporters of this ideology are just as intolerant as the Islamists.

Posted by: Alain at December 14, 2007 4:11 PM

It is unanimous that global warming is taking place. ALL scientists agree! The debate is over.

Posted by: Mike H at December 14, 2007 4:13 PM

Can you imagine the sh!tstorm the media would generate if Harper shut down an opponent's press conference like that UN official did? Funny how they don't seem to think that this is a repression of free speech . . .

Posted by: grok at December 14, 2007 4:14 PM

And how about this little tidbit for those who don't believe man-caused global warming is a socialist scam.

"The environmental group Friends of the Earth, in attendance in Bali, also advocated the transfer of money from rich to poor nations on Wednesday. “A climate change response must have at its heart a redistribution of wealth and resources,” said Emma Brindal, a climate justice campaigner coordinator for Friends of the Earth."

Posted by: John Luft at December 14, 2007 4:23 PM

People, the truth is what the "Central Committee" says it is.The old Soviet style is alive and well at the UN.If they had their way the Gulags would still be operating.Dissent is not allowed.

Bali Global Warming debate... mix in Billion$ of vested interests and the results MUST be wildly distorted.

Changes are attempt to advance energy bill
Detroit Free Press
December 12, 2007
--Democrats vowed Wednesday to get an energy bill through the Senate Thursday and on to President George W. Bush despite a veto threat over taxes, while Michigan Sen. Carl Levin sought a late change to the compromise on fuel economy standards. After failing to block a Republican filibuster last week.

Senate Democrats unveiled on Wednesday minor changes to a $22 billion tax plan attached to the energy bill, including the elimination of $12.6 billion in tax breaks for oil and gas companies.

What's the definition of a leftoid...

A leftoid is someone with a toid stuck to the left side of their head.

Posted by: William at December 14, 2007 4:33 PM

@spike 1:

The ironic joke in the whole AGW kerfuffle is that a confirmed Communist can argue that AGW theory is "bourgeois Lysenkoism," and bring in the $ flow in the inimitable Communist way.

In a way, it's unsurprising why people cling to beliefs long since outmoded. Every now and then, they get a howler to their benefit.

Posted by: Daniel M. Ryan at December 14, 2007 4:34 PM

Just in case it is not self evident. ExxonMobile, Chevron and the gang are the most powerful of coporations with profits in the billion$.

Just why they need 12.6 Billion$ in tax breaks is not immediately clear to me, but I*m no expert.

Guess they prefer not to dig into their own profits to fight clean-air standards. = TG

Posted by: TG at December 14, 2007 4:37 PM

TG -- Before you get too excited, perhaps you could tell everyone what exactly you/Democrats define as a tax 'break'.

Well, the news media, CBC, CTV are covering Dion in Bali nicely and castigating our own Government delegation with John Baird, who is our Official there.

Why bother going to anything abroad if the Opposition are running the show, are the media spokespeople for this country on the world stage?
Flipping Bas*ards!!!

Posted by: Liz J at December 14, 2007 5:36 PM

In Bali, Gore was using Bobby Hull to illustrate his disgust with Canada and how to "stick-handle" around the U.S. etc.

He referred to a Bobby Hull quote, "I don't pass the puck to where the player is. I pass the puck to where the player is going."

However, it was Wayne Gretzky that said, "I don't go to where the puck is, I go to where it's going."

We should hope to God that the idiot doesn't write a book about Hockey next.

Posters done as a parody of the Titanic movie ads, featuring Bush, Harper and the Japanese PM as the big bad guys of Bali appeared yesterday. Sponsored by something calling itself AAAKW (or some such acronym). They're coyly referred to as a global activist group in the G&M and the National Post. They are actually a front for, our old "friend" Soros at it again.

The group that Baird supposedly "snubbed" has as its spokeperson a Liberal organizer at McGill. Who paid their fares to Bali, I wonder? Student grants ain't that rich, surely. My guess is follow the money back to MoveOn as a possibility.

The whole Bali farrago is a circle-jerk by the leftoid, socialist alarmists. Unhappily the media in Canada seems largely to be on that side too.

Posted by: sheik yerbootie at December 14, 2007 7:36 PM

This is nothing but a Bali Bash for Braindead Leftoids to have a love in, much like Woodstock but with more posh digs. If we're looking at our media coverage we would think Dion was the Official spokesperson for this country. So predictable.

Guess we may read about what Baird did accomplish in Bali on these blogs if someone can dig it up.

Posted by: Liz J at December 14, 2007 7:43 PM

Yes, the Bali organizers are clearly rejecting debate and dissent; that means that their agenda has moved out of science and into, strictly and only, politics.

What is the political agenda? The UN and IPCC are now saying, openly, what they didn't say when they began the Kyoto Scam.

1) It's not about the climate, the planet; it's not about emissions or pollution. There is only one agenda - the economy. Specifically, the agenda is to transfer huge sums of money from the industrial to the developing nations.

2) The so-called G77, the developing nations, including China and India, are now saying, openly in Bali, what the UN previously denied. The G77 nations are openly declaring that they have NO INTENTION of reducing emissions or pollution as they industrialize.

Remember, the UN told us that 'industrial nation's money would be given to the 'developing nations' to build low-emission and pollution-free factories'. Heh. We didn't believe them. And we are right.

The G77 developing nations are openly declaring that they are exempt from any standards and have no intention of building such low emission and pollution free factories. Quite the opposite.

3)Result? The planet's emissions and pollution will skyrocket because of this.
Result? The developing nations will industrialize, at the expense of the Western industrial nations - who get nothing for their bucks. The money transfers are not loans, are not investments by the West in these foreign industries.

Result? The middlemen, the UN carbon traders, will scoop billions off the transfers.

Yet another UN money scam.

The CBC News Network(surprises never cease) had a prof from the London School of Economics on their noon/Friday broadcast.

He outlined very clearly and very concisely just why he blieves the US, Japan, China, India, and Canada are very right to take the stance they have taken at Bali.

The interviewer of course had to suggest the Liberal ideology of how Canada has (not) ...blah, blah blah.

Not so at all, says he, and on he went. I hope it is re-broadcast a few times.

Posted by: calgary clipper at December 14, 2007 9:25 PM

Think about what happened in Bali....all That governmental brain power and they had to go into extra innings/overtime why is that? One could assume that they came away with so little regarding the reduction of CO2, because they finally saw the flaws in the "human created CO2=global warming" argument.

I think Mr. Harper got what he wanted in Bali.

Yeah, let's call it the United Nations of money scammers.
They're all hot and bothered by Canada's Government's reluctance to send them money for "carbon credits", hot air, whatever.

This Global Warming Scam of the century is now an industry unto itself, propagated by the Loony Left. Their gaseous preachers like Gore and Suzuki, are swanning off spewing jet fuel across the globe, desperately seeking the uninformed and misinformed to proselytize their phony Apocalypse.
It is a race, they have the fear in their eyes, and the quiver in their voices. The truth is fast catching up to them and it's coming from those who actually know a bit about it.
The Snake Oil is going rancid.

Brussels has created the template for bureaucratic monarchy. Alternate views are of no import to the UN or the European Union, for they seek a world where the people are just incidental to them; a world somewhat like the one prior to the establishment of the United States, where no governments were elected by the people.

Gore offends every time he opens his big gob, his words ring hollow from the bottom of of the barrel he's scraping.
