Liberal Ron - yes, you are quite right; I should have said that is how some people operate. But, in our political milieu, the majority of the drive-by smears are from Liberals. You can see this in the current Schreiber hearings. Therefore, political filiation does play a role.

Now that the elf has moved up in the Liberal ranks he has to tow the line more closely. What he did there is no different than the smears being perpetrated by the Liberal MPs inside the HoC under the protection of the House against libel and slander.
