Posted by: Mad Mike at December 11, 2007 4:41 AMThe story about the father choking his daughter has really struck a nerve. Being the father of three daughters, 2 who have Muslim friends, this one is close to home.
Any man that would assault his own baby girl would be at the top of the "person whose ass I would like to pummel" list. That any man could nearly choke his baby girl to death is mind-numbing. Sure, some of my 3 daughter's decisions are not the most thought through. But to lay a beating on any of my baby girls, just because she is not following my orders, is not only criminal, but ranks up there with pedophilia and murder. This piece of shit, if found guilty, had better get a lengthy jail sentence. This cannot be allowed to happen in Canadian society.

John,
I heard your last caller before the 6:30 news on this despicable event and nearly drove off the road! In short, his is the atttitude that allows, even tolerates and accepts, this type of repugnant behaviour to fester here in Canada.
His rhetorical answer to you, 'what makes our culture better, as long as any child is abused here?' (I'm paraphrasing) is reflective of the typical cultural relativist - at once self-loathing and unable value our western society.
It would take a fool not to recognize that by any objective measure, ours truly is a superior culture; and more generally, what makes westernized countries better is our British derived heritage. I say this as an immigrant son of non-Anglo parents who dreads what this country will look like 50 years hence if unexamined immigration and multiculturalism of the kind likely tolerated by your caller is permited to flourish.
"Girl nearly choked to death in Mississauga yesterday for refusing to wear her hijab"
Sad but not infrequent. After reading about charges laid in a 'hate crime' in NYC (they call them 'bias crimes' in NY), I can't but wonder if this isn't a well defined hate crime.
That of hating the western culture. You know, freedom of choice, self determination, and (somewhat) free speech.
The man wrapped his hands around his daughter's throat and squeezed viciously until she was limp, ONLY because she wanted to wear secular clothing.
I doubt this man feels any different about other women, and how they look in our culture.
Only by bad fortune, was Ms. Parvez born to this whackjob, and he felt entitled to do what had to be done.
I wonder what the rest of the family was doing when this happened. Did they watch?

The biggest travesty of justice in North American history has to be the Picton trial. Publication bans on a trial where there are missing people that may have been found had the Canadian public been given all of the evidence and the details? Gimme a break! DNA only identifies dead persons. It does nothing to find those that may still be alive!
This is a society where the Liberals were going to institute gun control to curb violent crime, as one of the worst serial killers on the planet was operating under their noses, and largely unchallenged. Picton should make the Guiness World Book of records by 2010.
It's interesting to note that if Piction is convicted for all of his crimes, he will singlehandedly have murdered more people than all of the murders committed with handguns in an entire year, and in all of Canada.
The Picton trial, the Air India disaster, and now Robert Dziekanski being tazerd by police. I realize there is no relationship between the three events. I do however question the shrouded evidence that surround all three cases. Isn't it time we questioned who controls the media in this country, and what's happened to our freedom on information, and freedom of the press?? By press, I include "the net," and SDA!

Posted by: Neil at December 11, 2007 11:53 AMFrom American Thinker comes these nice little stats...
One would think that countries that signed the Kyoto treaty are doing a better job of curtailing carbon emissions. One would also think that the United States, the only country that does not even intend to sign, keeps on emitting carbon dioxide at growth levels much higher than those who signed.
And one would be wrong.
The Kyoto treaty was agreed upon in late 1997 and countries started signing and ratifying it in 1998. A list of countries and their carbon dioxide emissions due to consumption of fossil fuels is available from the U.S. government. If we look at that data and compare 2004 (latest year for which data is available) to 1997 (last year before the Kyoto treaty was signed), we find the following.
* Emissions worldwide increased 18.0%.
* Emissions from countries that signed the treaty increased 21.1%.
* Emissions from non-signers increased 10.0%.
* Emissions from the U.S. increased 6.6%.
In fact, emissions from the U.S. grew slower than those of over 75% of the countries that signed Kyoto. Below are the growth rates of carbon dioxide emissions, from 1997 to 2004, for a few selected countries, all Kyoto signers. (Remember, the comparative number for the U.S. is 6.6%.)
* Maldives, 252%.
* Sudan, 142%.
* China, 55%.
* Luxembourg, 43%
* Iran, 39%.
* Iceland, 29%.
* Norway, 24%.
* Russia, 16%.
* Italy, 16%.
* Finland, 15%.
* Mexico, 11%.
* Japan, 11%.
* Canada, 8.8%.
World and U.S. opinion seems to revolve around who signed Kyoto rather than actual carbon dioxide emissions. Once again, stated intent trumps actual results. Can even the global warming believers possibly believe this treaty has anything to do with it?

True, Muhammed never instituted it in the Qu'ran, as Muslims will be quick to point out, it's just there like the Christmas tree at Christmas, or the Easter Bunny at Easter. Jesus Didn't institute them in our bible either.
Look at it this way...what does it say about the family structure in Islam? How can "family love" as we westerners define it, exist in Islam? Back home this goes unnoticed and largely unreported. When it is, the killer(s) might get 2 to 6 months and then get out early. How would this affect siblings who perhaps witnessed or even participated? I slowly began to absorb as much information as I could about Salafism, Wahhabism, and its associated extremist ideology. I looked into the history and workings of the Muslim Brotherhood in America and realized that at some point anti-Islamists were going to need to take them on to rescue our faith from their clutches....

"For me, cohesion means that where there is local diversity, different races and religions get along. Cohesion should never mean multiculturalism, in the way that this concept has been translated by Labour: the doctrine of separate identity, with each group encouraged to feel that identity requires the expression of difference to the point of hostility.
"Multiculturalism has been manipulated to entrench the right to difference, a divisive concept, at the expense of the right to equal treatment despite difference, a unifying concept. And the fact that cohesion is local, means Labour get it wrong when they go in the other direction too. After years of promoting top-down multiculturalism, Gordon Brown is now promoting top-down unity."
She went on: "Of course, localism has to be in the context of a national consciousness – and that’s why I want us to reverse the failed state multicultural approach and ensure there is sufficient English language teaching for new arrivals, and proper teaching of English history for our children so that they have a deep understanding of our great institutions and how they came to be as they are.

Attack in Algiers: A Warning to Europe ...
Death and destruction revisited the Algerian capital of Algiers Tuesday morning when a pair of powerful car bombs exploded, and claimed what early estimates placed as 62 lives. Though no claims of responsibility have been made, security experts say there's little doubt the attack was the work of al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), a group that formed an alliance with Osama bin Laden's global jihad in 2006. Officials say Tuesday's spectacular strike increases the risk that AQIM is ramping up its violent struggle to bring down the Algerian government. And as the fourth big hit by AQIM in less than a year, the incident highlights the group's increasing organizational skills and establishes it as the greatest potential terror threat to continental Europe as well. ...-

Stephen outmanuevers the Libs again.meanwhile Borat Dion in Bali "suggest an ha genda "
It was an unpalatable choice for the Liberals, who rejected the call earlier in the day and argued it was irresponsible.
"Attacking the regulator, taking [it] out of the process, is going to make the problem worse," Deputy Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff said Tuesday, responding to Harper's assertion that the nuclear watchdog's legislative authority should take a back seat to the urgent need for radioisotopes.
'What will happen if there's a nuclear accident?'
Liberal MP Omar Alghabra noted that resolving the crisis should not come at the cost of lowering nuclear safety standards
Yeah, well, it's like Omar Alakadabra would know a hell of a lot about anything pertaining to our Nuclear Plants.
Still waiting for sh*tmouth Holland to apologize for his vitriolic smear of John Baird, trying to link him to the Ottawa Mayor's dealings. The police have said there is no link and they are not pursuing Baird at all.
The Conservatives had better keep demanding an apology from that jackass.

Feminist fatalist [Mark Steyn]
Pamela Bone to Germaine Greer in Melbourne last week:
I then asked why it was that Western feminists seemed so reluctant to speak out against things such as honour killings.
Greer: "It's very tricky. I am constantly being asked to go to Darfur to interview rape victims. I can talk to rape victims here. Why should I go to Darfur to talk to rape victims?"
Questioner (me): "Because it's so much worse there."
Greer: "Who says it is?"
Questioner: "I do, because I've been there."
Greer: "Well, it is just very tricky to try to change another culture. We let down the victims of rape here. We haven't got it right in our own courts. What good would it do for me to go over there and try to tell them what to do? I am just part of decadent Western culture and they think we're all going to hell fast and maybe we are all going to hell fast."
Too "tricky" to speak out against honor killings, and you can't teach an old feminist new tricks....-

(Via Israpundit) Spengler, Israel, the hope of the Muslim world
The state of Israel embodies the last, best chance for the Islamic world to come to terms with the modern world. Received wisdom in the foreign ministries of the West holds that relations with Muslims would be ever so much easier without the annoying presence of the Jewish state, which humiliates the Muslim world. Just the opposite is true. The Israeli presence in the territory of the ancient Jewish commonwealth, on land that once belonged to the Dar al’Islam, offers the single, slender hope for the future of the Muslim world, precisely because it constitutes a humiliation.
The premise of Western policy is to tread lightly upon Muslim sensibilities. That is an error of first magnitude, for Muslim sensibilities are what prevents the Islamic world from creating modern states. Islam cannot produce the preconditions for democracy in the Western sense out of its own resources.
