Where the foxes caper unmolested, the government packs your school lunch and that hajib becomes you, infidel woman;
A SCHOOL was yesterday accused of MAKING teachers dress up as Asians for a day – to celebrate a Muslim festival.Posted by Kate at October 31, 2007 3:53 PMKids at the 257-pupil primary have also been told to don ethnic garb even though most are Christians.
The morning assembly will be open to all parents – but dads are BARRED from a women-only party in the afternoon because Muslim husbands object to wives mixing with other men.
Just two members of staff – a part-time teacher and a teaching assistant – are Muslim.

Posted by: neo at October 31, 2007 4:34 PMWhy not? Prince Harry donned a Nazi uniform. Wasn't it so he could feel how un-loved and oppressed the Nazis truly were? They just needed more love and understanding, you know. If Hitler had only gone through a government funded program to build his self esteem.....
Posted by: Doug at October 31, 2007 4:41 PMPerhaps they could invite the muslim men the next time, and they could slap the teachers around. Give them that good old-fashioned islam feeling. I was reading on little green footballs, an article, on how some poor muslim men are being tortured because some females in one of those backward muslim countries refuse to wear the shrouds of oppression. The poor guys can't sleep at night, they are tortured by the visions. If you want a good laugh, go check it out.
Posted by: Honey Pot at October 31, 2007 4:53 PMThe school could try to bar me from seeing my kid. They'd better have some first aid supplies on hand, however.
Posted by: Sean at October 31, 2007 4:55 PMSo, "Dress like a Muslim Day" for Ramadan. Sounds like a giggle.
Any news on "Dress like a Christian Day" for Easter? Dress Jewish Day for Passover? (Hey come on, they have great hats!) Dress like the Dali Lama Day?
No? What fun is that?
Posted by: The Phantom at October 31, 2007 4:57 PMWould that a British school had the balls to make Muslims wear Jewish garb for a day. A prayer shawl comes to mind.
The Brits are sleepwalking into dhimmitude.
Posted by: mark peters at October 31, 2007 5:18 PMI'd be tempted to wear a nice western suit and tell them I'm dressing up as my one-time colleague Noor the assimilated Muslim PhD scientist. Or wear a not-so-nice western-style suit -- button-down shirt and clean blue jeans -- and tell them I'm dressed as Achmed the database programmer, another one-time colleague. Think that would work?
Posted by: Dr. Weevil at October 31, 2007 5:29 PMFool Britiannia , the immigration wave.
Britain ever ever ever will be slave.
The mind boggles.
I think there is no risk of them having "dress like an orthodox Jew" day, because the jews are going to be fleeing England in ever growing numbers.
Posted by: Lori at October 31, 2007 5:48 PMSo, can I wear my suicide bomber outfit on Dress like a Muslim Day? It has a detachable head and everything!
Too much? Ok, how about my Hamas Gunman outfit with the AK47 squirt gun and semi-portable Katusha launcher? Come with this bitchin' checkered head scarf and black mask... its awesome!
Posted by: The Phantom at October 31, 2007 6:12 PMdo all the females have to go for a "circ for a day"
owww!
Posted by: cal2 at October 31, 2007 6:31 PMLye appears to be a suburb of Birmingham, and is in the Metropolitan Borough of Dudly, the heart of the British rustbelt.
While 1 in 6 residents of Birmingham are muslim and has become known as the muslim capital of Britain, Dudly, and I'm assuming Lye would be typical, is 4% muslim, or 1 in 25.
On the whole, Britain is 3% muslim.
When stories like this appear in other papers like the Express or the Daily Mail, it always seems to happen in or near a large centre of muslim settlement, so I'm wary of overstating Britain's muslim problem.
That may have something to do with the administrative structure of British schools.
Shouldn't the title read 'Gordon Brown's Britain'?
Tony stepped down quite some time ago.
Posted by: Joe at October 31, 2007 7:58 PMDuncan - your point is well taken except the lunacy of the Labour party just keeps on coming.
How does one dress up as a Muslim unless one applies garb that has Islamic religious significance? That's what sets their clothing apart in the West. Little Christian girls in burqas or with their heads covered, that's what is really being asked here. It's sure not Muslims leisurely in their homes or in pajamas. Why not then have Hasidic Jew Day if the point is a multi-culti exercise? How about Indian Sikh Day? That's never going to happen. Neither group presents themselves as a threat or does the victim whine. Their clothing are distinctively religious. See my point.
It smacks of dhimmitude, the pathetic groveling of lefties who are too fearful to set cultural boundaries because most of them don't have them in their intellectual or personal lives, at least any lefty I've ever met.
I, as an American, would take issue with this nonsense as a state vs church encroachment. So should you. You'd have a hell of a time proving to me that what's being asked by that lame school isn't dress-up in Muslim religious garb.
Posted by: penny at October 31, 2007 9:45 PMWhats going to happen with the UNION JACK and JOHN BULL and what about RUE BRITANIA? and what about WEST MINSTER ABBIE and the TOWERS OF BIG BEN as well as those ROSIE RED CHEEKS ON THE LITTLE CHILDREN?
Posted by: Spurwing Plover at November 1, 2007 1:03 AMI agree with all you say, penny, this kind of flamboyant cultural appeasement is sickening.
And yet, it gladdens me that I don't hear stories like this out of Mississauga, or London(Ont.), or Montreal.
Why is that?
Sensationalism sells papaers, the Brits are good at it, their papers have circulations that aren't tanking.
But, the harder work of figuring out who's responsible for this stuff being forced on what appears to be an overwhelmingly English school remains. That's the weakness in this kind of reporting.
So, just how bad is Britain's muslim problem?
Or are there most pressing reason to wonder if 'ol Blighty will be around in 25 years?
Stories like this are coming out the Chicago area, now. Am I to conclude the U.S. is sunk?
(I don't, actually, because I've got some clue how you guys run things)

Wonder if when they cost the country 8.8 billion pounds [as Kate posted last week] whether that includes forcing Christians to wear
Muslim clothes?
Most "Canadians" want immigration rates lowered.
Posted by: DrWright at November 1, 2007 7:43 AMI think it would have been more appropriate to have handed out kalashnikovs and engaged in 5 minutes of wild firing into the air followed by a good old bit of flesh slicing and a throaty chant of ALLAH AKBAR, DEATH TO THE INFIDELS. Now thats what I call Diversity.
Posted by: Sheikh Rattle'n'Roll at November 1, 2007 7:53 AMWhen I see muslim school children dressing up as budhhists or jews or rastafarians or clowns to celebrate 'diversity', I'll accept multiculturalism. To be frankly honest, in the fearful PC UK climate today, I can't see this happening. Fuck Political Correctness and all the fucking zombies who perpetuate it..
