Looks like the emperer's loyal guardians just got a snoot full of Beijing's famous 500 foot think cloak of industrial smog.

We should issue these masks to our athletes that go to the olympics in that stink hole.....better yet don't send them and avoid the lawsuits for unnecessary hazard pay.

Try this this little experiment with any AGW true believer:

You: Remember during the cold war, when we used to 'duck and cover' at school? What an atmosphere of fear and panic was instiled with all this talk of Soviet Russia and the threat of communism?

True Believer: Yeah, we all know now that it was bogus and that it was just a propaganda ploy by our government to get us to conform to the capitalist, imperialist ideology.

You: You mean like all the fear mongering and the brainwashing that goes on in schools now about Global Warming? Isn't that motivated purely by political ideology?

True Believer: (a moment of cognitive dissonance occurs, but then it happens) HERETIC! DENIER! YOU MUST BE SILENCED! WE WILL DESTROY YOU! THE EARTH IS COMING TO AN END!

It's common to see people wearing face masks in Asian communities.
Why? Because they know damned well that their communities generate the kind filth and squalor that makes such precautions reasonable.

While pollution levels continue to accelerate upward across Asia simple minded fools like Wyness claim to support global environmental causes by performing childish stunts..... yet these very same clowns are actively supporting the ridiculous ponzi scheme of kyoto.

The fact that the action they support actually encourages the excesses of the Asian nations is not something they choose to comprehend.

Wyness .... Dion ..... Laytoon ...... all of the same cloth!

When I was in China on a recent trip I asked my guide why you saw the odd person wearing those masks. To which she told me they wear those masks for Hay Fever. Not everyone can afford allergy medicines there. Though I'm sure much of that hay fever is caused by the amount of particulates in the air from the awful pollution.

"Democracy may be flawed, but the basic principle that we should try to persuade the rest of society to change direction is far better than resorting to reckless actions that devalue meaningful protest and engagement with the public in the name of some pet obsession."

Watching the pendulum is making me dizzy...

So, if I understand the young lass correctly, no matter what the subject and my understanding of it, I am limited to timidly raising my hand and saying "Excuse me, I've something important to say...Hello? Anyone? Oh, apologies for distracting you! I'll sit down and be quiet now."

Capital B Period Capital S Period!

Well done that man! *

The poor lass clearly worships at a strange altar, one whose god is oddly lacking in sense.

Persuade, reckless, devalue, meaningful, obsession...

Sez who! This is the language of liberalism, the cant of consensus, the anodyne of the amoral. If something is important to me, and if I have any concern for you as a fellow human being, then by God you will hear!

The rest of you milquetoasts may now whimper your mild little objections!

*Now charge him with trespass and damages.
