RIDERS CLINCH!

Given the anaemic run defence the Stumps showed against the Bombers tonight the result was an early call.

Winnipeg 27 Calgary 13

An entire two field goals and a garbage time TD by Calgary's offence.

Now then, RIDERS CLINCH A HOME PLAY-OFF GAME!

Green is the colour
Football is the Game
We're all together
And winning is our aim
So Cheer us on
Through the sun and the rain
Saskatchewan Roughriders
Is our name!

Go Riders,

There are two types of people in this world, those born being a Rider's fan and those who have overcome that handicap;)!

aj in Calgary, I can't help but agree with you and it only made sense to not play Hank. There is no way the Riders were going to loose the rest of their games and neither were the Stamps going to win the rest of theirs so it only made sense to rest Hank and give the back-up some playing time.

To GaryinWpg - all I can say is its a good thing Hank wasn't in the game last night or the outcome would have been much different. The Bombers won't survive the semi-final (ya, they won't end up in first - that uneasy feeling you have behind you is the Argos crawling up your butt)as Montreal will win the day. By the way, the stands were half empty at kick-off last night. What gives with that?

A note to all you Calgary and Saskatchewan booster:

Tis a shame. If only the riders organization wasn't racist.

Porter - care to explain?

Posted by: a different Bob at October 20, 2007 9:13 PM

I never watch wimin sports!!!!

The removal of Shivers and Barrett was predicated on the racist nature of Saskatchewan. Tillman, who is a terrible human being and complete phony, is liked because he is seen as a nice, white, man.

What a game.

What a finish.

What a heart crushing ending for Riders fans.... again!

GO BC!

Posted by: B.C. Fan at October 21, 2007 12:01 AM

Robert, Shivers & Barret were let go for years of lackluster play. 9 & 9 year after year don't work. They are great football guys, but couldn't produce a trip to the promised land. Does this make BC, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Hamilton and Montreal Racist for having white coaches? No playing the race card please.

Posted by: Bri C at October 21, 2007 12:21 AM

BC isn't racist - Wally was born in Italy.

BTW: I've started a couple of Grey Cup markets.

Diff Bob,

I didn't take the game in so I can't comment on why the stands were half full. As for the play-offs, it's a brand new ball game, whoever is the most hungry will probably win.

Posted by: GaryinWpg at October 21, 2007 7:13 PM

Peter, oski wah what? :)

No seriously, what's happened with Hamilton the last few years? Now you've got Toronto querying the home and home games cause they want competition?

Sad story and I'm afraid that Taffe and Printers aren't the ending you'll be wanting.
