Could be just around the corner...but maybe Sorros would bail them out!
Posted by: OMMAG at October 18, 2007 7:43 PMAccording to the WSJ today, there may be more shoes to drop as other disgruntled funds bail.
Here's a well balanced analysis of the Times' demise with their content problem factored in.
Too bad the CBC and BBC aren't allowed to sink or swim in the marketplace.
Posted by: penny at October 18, 2007 8:07 PMBBC to cut 2500 jobs. lets hope CBCpravda is the next to cut. lets say proportional to the population of canada to britain 33/55 or 1500.

The problem certainly does begin at the ownership and executive level. But falls right down the organization with real confusion at the editorial boards and the business management groups.
This leaves the rank and file of the news groups and marketing and operations awash as the high seas of technological change flush over the scuppers of these creaky old boats.
Good to see the traitorous NY Slimes hurting. Their stock has declined 24% in one year. Wow.

I see we don't have any of the usual scoffers braying how the bloggers only talk about MSM articles. I think we all know that's true, and we all know that bloggers don't have the funds to go out and cover events and etc. like the MSM do. These facts rate a "DUH!" IMO.
The question is not "will there be a Main Stream Media?" That is a STUPID question, the kind asked by mush headed morons who don't like bloggers kicking the butts of "professional" journalists.
The real question is, will the current Liberal dominated media companies still be around in ten years? I'd say the answer to that is maybe, but if they survive they will do so by firing their entire current management an getting new owners to boot.
NY Slimes needs to do that, or they will go the way of the Telegraph, and soon. Morgan Stanley doesn't walk away from anything they think will make a buck.
