Disgraced Democratic fundraiser Norman Hsu was a wanted man again after he failed to show up for a court date Wednesday and a judge issued a new warrant for his arrest.Hsu, whose criminal past has roiled the campaigns of top presidential candidates, was scheduled to ask a judge to cut in half the $2 million bail he posted last week when he turned himself in after spending 15 years on the lam from a felony theft conviction.

Federal Election Commission records show Hsu donated $260,000 to Democratic Party groups and federal candidates since 2004. Though a top fundraiser for Clinton, he also donated to Obama's Senate campaign in 2004 and to his political action committee. He also contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to state and municipal candidates.

Posted by: Kate at September 6, 2007 9:31 PMA hearing examining a fundraising scandal in the Clinton administration's 1996 election concluded that there was "strong circumstantial evidence that the government of the People's Republic of China was involved in funding, directing, or encouraging some of these foreign contributions [from people named Charlie Trie,John Huang, and James Riady]."
"The Chinese government connections of Clinton fund-raisers and donors in 1996 are stunning."
"Intelligence information concluded that James Riady . . . had a long-term relationshp with a Chinese intelligence agency while Huang may passibly have ahad a direct financial relationship with the PRC government."
(from the book "Legacy", by Rich Lowry)
The author goes on the list many more Chinese connections via Gore's fund-raising efforts in that same campaign, and other Democrats, connections that often led to the Chinese government.
Here comes the new Clinton, same as the old Clinton. Money, power, ambition, influence . . . what's a few paltry state-security secrets and paid-for appointments of foreigners into key positions? Pshaw. Everyone loves the Clintons, and no harm can come to States through them. They're globally accepted, not like that Bush guy.
Someone in Beijing is smiling.

Posted by: cal2 at September 6, 2007 10:01 PMPersonally I blame bad parenting.
My daddy reft home when I was free
And he didn't reave much to ma and me
Just this old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.
Now, I don't brame him cause he run and hid
But the meanest thing that he ever did
Was before he reft, he went and named me Hsu.
Well, he must o' thought that is quite a joke
And it got a rot of raughs from a' rots of folk,
It seems I had to fight my whole rife through.
Some gal would giggle and I'd get Red
And some guy'd raugh and I'd bust his head,
I tell ya, rife ain't easy for a boy named Hsu.
Well, it was Gatrinburg in mid-Jurye
And I just hit town and my throat was dry,
I thought I'd stop and have myself a brew.
At an old saroon on a street of mud,
There at a table, dealing stud,
Sat the dirty, mangy dog that named me Hsu.
Well, I knew that snake was my own sweet dad
From a worn-out picture that my mother'd had,
And I knew that scar on his cheek and his evil eye.
He was big and bent and gray and old,
And I rooked at him and my brud run cold
And I said: "My name is Hsu! How do you do!
Now you gonna die!!"
And he said: "Son, this world is rough
And if a man's gonna make it, he's gotta be tough
And I knew I wouldn't be there to help you arong.
So I give you that name and I said goodbye
I knew you'd have to get tough or die
And it's the name that helped to make you strong."
He said: "Now you just fought one hell of a fight
And I know you hate me, and you got the right
To kill me now, and I wouldn't brame you if you do.
But you ought to thank me, before I die,
For the gravel in ya guts and the spit in ya eye
Cause I'm the son-of-a-bitch that named you Hsu.
I got all choked up and I threw down my gun
And I called him my pa, and he called me his son,
And I came away with a different point of view.
And I think about him, now and then,
Every time I try and every time I win,
And if I ever have a son, I frink I'm gonna name him
Bill or George! Anything but Hsu!
hmmmmm wanna bet the Democrat friendly NYT et al won't bother to dig into this one until his source of funds is exposed in the blogsphere first ?
So how did the money get sent from Chinese Intelligence HQ to Hsu's bank account.
Maybe Hillary or Bill can provide an answer . . . cause when there is skanky financial crap going on, you can usually find a Clinton in the Outhouse
Posted by: Fred at September 6, 2007 10:25 PMThursday, 10:30 pm: Quick checks of:
Slate.com - no mention of Hsu affair
Salon.com - no mention of Hsu affair (but front page story that Bush knew there were no WMD's in Iraq)
dailykos.com - no mention of Hsu affair (but front page coverage on why ID Senator Craig should resign)
So, iberia, albatross, others: this is why we say there is a bias amongst liberal media. This would be a huge story if the recipient of Hsu's largesse was, say, Guiliani or Romney. But because it's Hillary, it's not even mentioned. Let me emphasise that IT'S NOT EVEN MENTIONED. Not mentioned in the fine print; not buried under fifteen other stories - NOT MENTIONED AT ALL.
Posted by: KevinB at September 6, 2007 10:29 PMSome may recall that on July 8, 1947, witnesses claimed that an unidentified object with five aliens aboard crashed onto a sheep and cattle ranch just outside Roswell , New Mexico This is a well-known incident that many say has long been covered up by the U.S. Air Force and the federal government.
However, what you may NOT know is that almost nine months later in March 1948 later, Jean Chretien, Jack Layton, Stephan Dion, David Miller and Olivia Chow were all born.
See what happens when aliens breed with sheep? This information may clear up a lot of questions.
Probably negotiating a refugee status claim with Dion.

Leaving aside the issue of laundering campaign contributions through third parties, the obvious questions are what did Norman Hsu expect in exchange for all this effort and was he working for someone? Could be a hell of a story about to come out here if he hasn't covered up his tracks properly.

Posted by: jmorrison at September 7, 2007 6:34 AMTreason and election malfeasance isn't sufficient grounds to put the dogmatic left off their deep denial of leadership corruption....Hillary will win...it's scripted.
We note Hillary has promised to keep the troops in the ME and continue the neocon ME military presense...which indicates the US will either be in Iran or bombing it before the end of the Bush term.
"Arrangements" have been made with Hillary...the US will get another deeply connected establishment crank in the White house carrying off the agendas of her patrons and ignoring the will of the majority.

Very fishy, folks. Denmarkian, even.
