Wow. I sure sure miss the prairies when I see pictures like that.
Posted by: murray at July 26, 2007 7:45 PMThat is one awesome pic Kate.. I love photographing storms, but usually I don't have my camera with me when I'm driving, and thats when the real good ones usually show up.
Hopefully soon I'll splurge on that new K10D and it'll never leave my side.
Posted by: Mjolnir at July 26, 2007 8:08 PMNice. But your link to it is seriously wrong.
Posted by: Garth Wood at July 26, 2007 8:22 PMTHAT is waaaaay cool.
Posted by: Doug at July 26, 2007 8:55 PMNothing wrong with the link...tons of great pix!
Posted by: vf at July 26, 2007 9:02 PMIts one thing to see this, its another to capture it so perfectly on film. Very talented fellow this Sean.
Posted by: ward at July 26, 2007 9:30 PMI love the sky/road contrast, especially on his next shot. That's the real stuff; great work.
Posted by: GDW at July 26, 2007 10:38 PMnice
Posted by: terrence at July 26, 2007 10:50 PMThe composition of this photo is outstanding (as is the photo itself)
Great stuff!
I drove every road from the Alberta/Saskatchewan border to the Lakehead on a regular basis during the sixties. I saw more of nature in those four years, there on the road, than I have seen since. I have more stories from those days to count. Travelling the rest of Canada and North America and some of Europe just doesn't cut it in the same way. That picture epitomises summer in the Canadian prairies.
Posted by: Senior Citizen at July 26, 2007 11:11 PMhave you seen the movie TWISTER about the storm chasers? real good movie
Posted by: spurwing plover at July 27, 2007 12:51 AMNothing wrong with the link, it's the server that's hurting. Keep trying.

SQL problems with my host -- gonna switch hosts next week if they don't respond to my complaints. :-(
Posted by: Sean at July 27, 2007 11:13 AMJudging by the condition of the asphalt, I take it this is in Saskatchewan?
Posted by: INP at July 27, 2007 11:55 AMI live in N. Louisiana and have never had the privilege of visiting Canada, but I must ask; what side of the road do you guys drive on ?
,
Ratt..."but I must ask; what side of the road do you guys drive on?"
Ha, had me for a sec, umm, you're not serious are you?
But to answer your question: A few of the cars you all drive down there are made in Canada.
Posted by: tomax7 at July 27, 2007 1:02 PMWhy Ratt, Trucks on the left, cars on the right. the link isn't working
Posted by: Talkinghead at July 27, 2007 1:03 PM...Right.
Judging from the picture, the person on the left side can pass, cross over the line, but the person on the right hand side can't.
The trick is, figuring out which side is left and which is right, ergo, coming and going...
Posted by: tomax7 at July 27, 2007 1:06 PMThat picture reminds me of how much I totally don't miss Minnesota. By August the corn is 6ft tall, you have to drive an hour to find a hill tall enough to see over it.
And the wimmen are really, really fat. :(
Posted by: The Phantom at July 28, 2007 12:20 AMRatt, those guys are pulling your leg. Cars drive on the right, trucks go where ever they like. Me, I drive a truck. ~:D
Posted by: The Phantom at July 28, 2007 12:23 AM...well actually snow plows are on the left and toboggan's on the right.
