Trade Season Off To Shaky Start

TSN

"I was frustrated a couple weeks back when Randy Moss was traded to New England," Favre said on the Packers' website. "I never wanted to be traded and I don't want to be traded. I want to be in Green Bay. I want to finish my career as a Packer."

Globe & Mail;
"I am happy to find the Leader of the Bloc Québécois back among us today. It's as if he never left," Mr. Cannon said.

The operative link is "finishing out a career".

Speaking of trades - the far more important action by Duceppe was his action, on his return to his salary and pension paid for by the ROC, in attacking the Conservative's decision to increase the number of electoral seats in BC, Alberta and Ontario.

By population base, all these areas have fewer electoral seats than they should. BC and Alberta together have the SAME population as Quebec, but have eleven (11) fewer electoral seats. Of course, to Duceppe/Quebec, that's the Way It Should Be. Ontario also has fewer seats than it, by population ratio, ought to have.

But, Duceppe's first action in the House, on His Return, was to attack equality, fairness and democracy - to retain Quebec's unfair status.

Every time il Duce opens his mouth, I move one step closer to giving the Quebec the boot. I am sick to death of paying for morons like that bloc-head.

Hell, give Ontario the boot while we are at it. Time for a new country.

when will we hear Mssr. Dion declare that the number of seats is "not fair!!"

but finishing out his career, he appears to have done that, has anyone got a link to the picture of Duceppe with the silly hair net on. the "snap , crackle , poop hat"

What is the population/congressional district in the US. There are around 400+ congressmen/women and we have 308 MPs. Listen to the cries if canada went on the same ratio. And, it is not unheard of for a state to lose a district. Perhaps we cdns should cry that representation is not fair, with Atlantic provinces having too many senators and MPs/population. If dannyboy cries about unfairness why can't we.
How many ridings will have to be redrawn to make room for the increase in seats. TO could lose a seat or more, and the suburbs could gain. Maybe that is the deal PMSH should offer the Atlantic premiers, you give up your unfair representation in the HofC and you can have you accord and the rest.

Here's a laugh, try reducing the amount of Quebec seats rather than increasing Alberta/BC representation!

They owed it to Bret Favre, the guy is the only living/playing sports legend in pro sports.

He still has a spectacular arm, at this point in his carrer he requires somebody like Randy, who can fight and win the battles for the ball.
He has no receivers of consistant calibre, with the same winning desire that Randy has lately showed, and Bret has had, his entire career.

He should retire if Green Bay does not pony up a decent receiving core for the greatest QB they've ever had.

Oh yeah,
Duceppe is to the weinier industry, what Brett Favre, is to football. ;^p

"Hell, give Ontario the boot while we are at it"

You won't have to boot me, freddy, i've always thought Ontario would make a great independent country. And it would cut down on the amount of whining i've spent my life listening to, both western and quebecois.
Nothing personal, as they say.

Interesting phrasing in the G&M article:

"Asked about the impact of his mistake on his credibility, Mr. Duceppe said it will be up to Bloc militants, who will vote on his leadership in the fall, and Quebeckers in the next election."

Something lost in translation?

Yeppers Slick

I concur. As the manufacturing horsepower moves to China, the energy/financial horsepower to western Canada and political irrelevancy to Quebec...well it seems that this is the best time to bust a move.

Go for it!!!
