At DemocraticSPACE, we are putting together a new feature for the upcoming federal election — we’d like to have blogs for all 308 ridings, drawn from across all the major parties (and non-partisans), to provide on the ground reports on how the campaign is unfolding in their riding. We have already signed up some well-known Canadian political bloggers and will continue to contact people in the coming weeks. Feel free to pass the word along.

I am not going to publicise how things are going for my team on the web. Are you crazy?
Posted by: Wimpy Canadian at April 9, 2007 6:50 PMOMG, didn't the SOC ban the ROC from seeing this?
Posted by: aj in calgary at April 9, 2007 6:55 PMoops, make that SCOC, damn acronyms!!!
Posted by: aj in calgary at April 9, 2007 6:56 PMYou can always publicize how it's goin' for the other team.... heh

Posted by: ZiLLa at April 9, 2007 7:37 PMThat's nothing!! Since I was born I have managed not to disconnect the natural gas from the furnace and not to light a match when I didn't do it.
I'm sure most people have similar hair-raising non-experiences.
Posted by: ural at April 9, 2007 8:01 PMI went to DemocraticSPACE, and saw them hawking a very anti-Christian/pro-atheist ad featuring a sound track by Richard Dawkins. That was the *only* ad I saw on their site.
I refuse to associate myself with an organization that would advertise such filth associated with an utter anti-Christian bigot like Dawkins... particularly when that's the only ad they have.
Posted by: Ryan at April 9, 2007 8:06 PMIt's a GoogleAd Ryan. The blogger doesn't have any control.
Posted by: Ted at April 9, 2007 8:17 PMOops ... wrong thread. Sorry folks.
Posted by: ural at April 9, 2007 8:46 PMLet's all hold hands. Let's sing. I'd like to buy the world a coke ...
Posted by: ural at April 9, 2007 9:46 PMI think it would be a wonderful display of non-partisanship to join up. You know - in the way that we support Suzuki's online polls...
Posted by: Kate at April 9, 2007 10:52 PMFYI, DemocraticSPACE is non-partisan. We are trying to assemble a balanced slate of bloggers from across the political spectrum to provide more detailed coverage than is typically available through the mainstream media. Of the bloggers we've signed up so far, 27% are non-partisan, 25% are Conservative, 25% are Liberal, 12% are NDP, 5% are Green and 5% are Bloc. If you are interested in signing up, just drop me a note.

This could prove very helpful for strategic voting purposes, in the event that a party with whom most Canadians are very uncomfortable looks like a threat to win.
