Posted by Kate at March 12, 2007 2:27 AMWas Friedman taken in by this? Just wondering....
As for Carter, I'll settle for pointing out that he's endorsed Gore for President, which is probably enough to damn both of them.
Posted by: Geoff W. at March 12, 2007 3:12 AMIt speaks volumes to your intellectual blindness and delusion that you cling to such thin straws to maintain your position:

I know it's now the "commie-terrorist" Nelson Mandela, but will Desmond Tutu do?
"Desmond Tutu, the former archbishop of Cape Town and chairman of South Africa's truth and reconciliation commission, visited the occupied territories three years ago and described what he found as "much like what happened to us black people in South Africa".
You idiots and hypocrites and cowards can continue to believe that Israel should be able to fire rockets at Palestinian orphanages as part of its struggle for survival, but at least have the courage to accept what it is you're defending.
Posted by: thwap at March 12, 2007 6:52 AMThwerp, the problem is, Palestine's situation is of their own making. Can you imagine the Japanese bitching about US apartheid while actively being engaged in kamikaze attacks against US ships? Do you have any idea how stupid your argument makes you look?
Posted by: Alex at March 12, 2007 8:35 AMAlex,
The problem with your analogy, is that the Japanese were not complaining about US apartheid while engaged in kamikaze attacks on US ships.
The US did not invade Japan and establish a colony there, while pushing the Japanese into concentration camps.
Do you have any idea how stupid your argument makes you look? Any idea at all?
I could say something about apples and oranges, but I fear that you'll only get even more confused.
Posted by: thwap at March 12, 2007 10:01 AMThwap - this is a post about Jimmy Carter being taken in by a hoax. If you want to defend the rights of Palestinian suicide bombers, take it to your own blog.
The only thing that Jimmy Carter has earned any of my respect is for his work with Habitat for Humanity. As long as he shuts his mouth and swings that hammer he is okay. Other than that, the man is an idiot and a danger to the US and western society.
Posted by: Texas Canuck at March 12, 2007 10:36 AMKate,
Alex was the one who introduced the incoherent Japanese example.
Your post was about Carter quoting a fake Mandela quote about Israeli apartheid.
I was the guy who brought up Desmond Tutu, who said that Israel was behaving similarly to apartheid South Africa.
Follow this link:
http://southmovement.alphalink.com.au/southnews/NAM-re2-mandela.htm
To get a picture of Mandela shaking hands with Yasser Arafat while slamming Netanyahu's government.
If the Mandela-Friedman memos are hoaxes, they seem to be similar to Mandela's long-standing opposition to Israel's treatmen of the Palestinians, and Carter can certainly be forgiven for imagning that they came from Mandela personally.
And therefore, while regrettable, Carter's mistake doesn't detract significantly from the argument in his book.
And so, once again, you reveal yourselves to be clueless hypocrites.
Was that "on track" enough for you Kate?

I guess I didn't make myself clear. Perhaps it will help to tell you that the software here allows me to pull up every comment you have ever posted and delete them all in one function.
When I ask you to stop using my comments threads for your off-topic and extended debates, I mean it.
Posted by: Kate at March 12, 2007 1:57 PMFrankly I don't care if Carter is right or wrong. Anybody that has the balls to stand up to the massive power of world Jewry should be given his or her own memorial.

Such a memorial already exists.
Posted by: Chris L. at March 12, 2007 5:21 PMI know now how Jimmy Carter got the way he is now. He must have been hit in head with a hammer when helping Habitat for Hunanity. He was the guy holding the nail I surmise. Maybe it was helpful, who knows for sure.
Posted by: Ken E. at March 12, 2007 6:45 PMWell done Chris. These anti-semitic idiots really don't get it.
Posted by: Alex at March 12, 2007 9:23 PMbest desision he could have made now he should return to HABIDTATE FOR HUMANITY and help build homes for the homeless and do a jib he real is good at
