Classic right wing talk radio

It's Greatest Hits Week on Hugh Hewitt. If you haven't heard his infamous 2006 interview with "excitable" Andrew Sullivan, you're missing out.

Even better is what happened in the very next segment: a completely improvised, unscripted bit in which the great James Lileks mocks Sully's hysterical paranoia.

Actually, I don't have a good excuse for posting these links, other than they're really entertaining.

And the fact that Lileks, in full faux Sullivan flight, sounds exactly -- EXACTLY -- like Dr. Dawg...

no doubt that pravda has translated this from the french nonveneculare incomprehensable drivel that is their preferred , nay over the top beloved candidate

How do you know how I sound? :)

Ah. I listened to the link. I see your point. :)

I had a disagreement with Mr. Sullivan via email three or four years ago that turned me off his style of rhetoric, but I must say that I thought he held his own, within said style, rather well in that interview, at least based on my understanding of the undergirding issues relevant to the tradition of Catholicism.

Meanwhile, Mr. Lileks was, as always, brilliant in his deconstruction of, in this case, Mr. Sullivan's style. I still prefer the written word, be it Lileks or IowaHawk, but those were great, Kathy, thanks.

It only took Dr Dawg 22 minutes to reply.

Your point?

I found Andrew Sullivan way to pompous and annoying to take...

Mark Steyn's on most Thursdays, and it's the best radio there is...

If you have an iPod you can do like I do and sign up for the podcasts at Townhall.com

You don't get them until the following morning but they are still worthwhile.

if it is news on the yanks CBCpravda is at the same level as "news of the world" down at the safeway checkout.

if it is news about adscam or borat dion they grow terribly catatonic.

Yeah, I heard the Sullivan interview when it originally aired on KRLA. Classic. Hewitt's my favorite right wing talking head and if I can be allowed to toss in a second free plug, all his shows are archived at Townhall.com. Great stuff.

Do you mean Dr. Dawg, the only person in Canada to say that Mike Klander should be arrested and charged with a hate crime for suggesting an individual looks like a dog? Is this the Dr. Dawg you speak of?

I see a lot of people taking him seriously, when in reality Dr. Dawg is much more extremist and much more critical of Israel than McClelland ever was.

Always with the waterboarding and gay marriage. I bailed after 20 minutes.

Why would Sullivan take an opportunity to talk about his book for an hour, and blow it trying to interrogate Hewitt and sounding crazy?

What a loon.

Posted by: Joan Tintor at March 9, 2007 8:31 PM

Your point?

It only took you 22 minutes to reply to the bait--and only 2 minutes to reply to my bait. Do you now get the point?

Posted by: Toontown Kid at March 10, 2007 12:39 AM

Yup. :)
