"Climatologists are pessemistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climate change, or even to allay it's effects....the more difficult they will find it to cope with climate change once the results become a grim reality.
This all sounds so familiar.
Best quote
"The evidence in support of these prediction has now begun to accumulate so massively that meterologists are hard pressed to keep up with it"
I guess the evidence is in and debate is over. And that those who are against it should "shut the f*** up and get out of here"

Apparently Suzuki's people were able to get the cached copy of the "poll that went horribly wrong"
dedleted from Google. The other parts of the page are still their, but the poll has disappeared. Next thing you know, the "global cooling" post will be gone.
Perhaps Suzuki should reflect on the fact that it wasn't the Watergate burglary that got Nixon into trouble, it was the coverup...

Posted by: Bruce at March 5, 2007 4:34 PMnothing new here folks....moonbat morons like dr fruit fly and citoyen dion have been wrong on every major environmental issue for the last 30 years.....
recycling - bad idea - 2nd fleet of diesel trucks to remove garbage
incineration - hand in hand with idiot recycling
global cooling - see article - wrong
DDT - how many millions in Africa have died?
nuclear power - why is it ok for citoyen dion's beloved homeland to receive 80% if it's power from nuclear, but he starts quivering when talking about if for Canadian applications?
I have taught my children never to listen to any of these morons, as the truth will come out in the end....we live on one tough planet, and I am sure we will be ok
Posted by: kingstonlad at March 5, 2007 4:45 PMi'll jump on the kyoto band wagon when suzuki and dion are living in a forest and wiping their butts with pine cones.lol
Posted by: stubby at March 5, 2007 5:27 PMTwo years ago, the ground was thawed with little snow. This year, there must be three feet of heavy snow, with more on the way...
Is this a result of global warming???
Posted by: Knight of Good Mr. Iron Man at March 5, 2007 5:42 PMWe are supposed to use ethanol--so if the major agricultural countries are going to be affected by climate change where is the corn and grain to come from to produce ethanol? Are we supposed to give up eating so we can use a 'clean' fuel, a fuel whose production uses mega fossil fuel, depletes forests for arable land so crops can be grown, thus depleting the CO2 absorbing forests? I am starting to get a headache! The only solution is to get rid of humans--is that what the Gore/Suzuki duo really aim to do
Posted by: George at March 5, 2007 5:50 PMIf global cooling was going to have dire negative consequences for Canadian agriculture, may we presume that global warming will have positive consequences? Or are we saying that climate as we used to know it was optimally perfect, and that any change, either cooling or warming, is harmful?
Posted by: Richard Ball at March 5, 2007 5:52 PM"Or are we saying that climate as we used to know it was optimally perfect, and that any change, either cooling or warming, is harmful?"
Why, Richard, how on earth did you know that? When all the GW deniers and conservatives (not Islamic conservatives, mind you) are wiped off the face of the earth, we WILL live in perfect Utopia!

every story is a crisis now with global warming on CBCpravda. the shill will pass. like a horse with a twich on his lip, the MSM is a one trick pony.
Posted by: cal2 at March 5, 2007 6:49 PMIn the interest of balanced journalism, on the Toronto Star, coldest Feb in 28 years, no reference to global warming or anything of the sort...any bets on whether they would have trotted out Mr. Nature of things for a quote if it was the warmest in 28 years?
Posted by: small c torontonian at March 5, 2007 7:49 PMRemember when Canada was sub tropical with dinosaurs, sabre tooth tigers, etc roaming through steamy low land swamps. The globe will indeed warm up and cool down again and again long after the human race has disappeared.
Posted by: Kyoto Kid at March 5, 2007 7:53 PMBruce, thats really disappointing...why would the google people even care to remove something from the cache....especially something like that.

Posted by: EBD at March 5, 2007 8:16 PMACID RAIN, 'The Population Bomb', the Return of the Ice age, The Club of Rome's 'Limits to Growth', Malthus' over-population theories, The Crisis of Capitalism, Ebola virus, Monkey pox, The China Syndrome, the 'Rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer', Nuclear winter, Genetic engineering, Plagues from antibiotic-resistant superbugs, Alien invasions, Supercomputers becoming conscious and killing us all, and on and on, have all gone away without a whimper. Some of these doomsday theories were never supported by fact, and the rest never became a crisis. One can track the death of the global warming hysteria by measuring how often the MSM mentions it. As with acid rain, and all doomsday theories, when the theory proves false, the MSM will simply stop talking about it. Poof! it will be gone from the media. Meanwhile, many people will continue to worry about it long after the fact, as they do with acid rain, overpopulation, etc., because no effort is expended to rectify these built-up misconceptions. By the way, the rich ARE getting richer – but so are the poor.
Posted by: DemocracyRules at March 5, 2007 8:35 PMAnd not only that, but somewhere out there, an asteroid has our number, and the super-volcano under Yellowstone may blow any day now. . .
GW can't go away for a while. I'm just on the verge of making a bundle on it.

Those Killer Bees were supposed to be in my backyard by now. Must be they are hiding under that 3 feet of snow that is out there. Or just maybe they are inactive from the 9 below (F) temp at the present time.
The fact that mankind has enjoyed a relatively stable climate for most of it's recorded history ill prepares it for a return to the norm, which is constant, and sometimes rapid, change.
The Climate Change (aka Global Warming) doomsayers base most of their present extrapolations on the 180 +/- years of weather conditions actually *recorded* and archived by man. That represents approximately 0.000004% of actual climate *history* for the earth. (That would be approximately 4 parts per trillion of the total sample size!)
That does not approach MOA accuracy when you are shooting in the dark.
Posted by: Yoop at March 6, 2007 10:20 AMSound the alarms. The snow's melting and water is running down the streets! The sun is getting stronger and the days longer!
Climate change is real and has been happening right under everyone's noses. No matter what climate change deniers say, Winter is giving way to Spring.

Tim Ball used The Hudson's Bay Company records that go back almost THREE HUNDRED years !!
" .. using the remarkable records of the Hudson's Bay Company to reconstruct climate change from 1714 - 1952."

And the 'fruit fly guy' Guy ?? Seems to have just watched Gore's fictional movie and The Weather Network's (TWN) 7 day forcast.
And by the way. Has anyone seen any other "experts' on TWN ?? Besides Suzuki ?? TWN send me an email (over a month ago) claiming that they would be balanced and give REAL experts like Dr. Patrick Moore and Dr. Tim Ball equal time. Propagandist Network !!
