I guess when you feel you’re entitled to your presidency and don’t really have to do the hard work of explaining much of anything, then you shouldn’t have to endure the typical heat of politics. But all of this demonstrates to me exactly why Hillary has stayed out of the kitchen and away from baking cookies all these years: She cannot stand the heat. And she is utterly artless. She gallumphs, spins, ducks, weaves, hauls out Bill (or simply mentions his holy name) as soon as things get difficult, and then runs for cover.Posted by Kate at February 21, 2007 5:55 PMThis is a woman who never, ever apologizes for anything but she always seems to need apologizing to.

To me the most salient words in The Anchoress's essay were "Hillary thrusts out her lip [and] plays the victim". As much as I have compassion for true victims, I have contempt for those who promote false victimhood.
Posted by: Vitruvius at February 21, 2007 6:57 PMThis is a typical left-leaning (alright SOCIALIST) response to any critiscism. I kind of think Mrs. Clinton has shot her wad already.
Posted by: Mike in White Rock at February 21, 2007 7:01 PMElecting the sociopathic Hillary Clinton ( so sue me HC)would be the biggest mistake any country made since we elected Trudeau.
Hillary's always right, and politicians who never make mistakes are the most dangerous kind.
I'll take Rudy Giuliani, even if he does cross dress occasionally.
Posted by: dmorris at February 21, 2007 8:04 PMDown here in the Hawkeye State, Hillary's team is very strong, perhaps too strong. But that glass jaw of hers will be shattered in the Iowa caucus' as there is no candidate anywhere vulnerable as her.
Let's just say her support is like her skin: very thin!
And thanks for a new blog to visit Kate! The Anchoress Blog is excellent
Posted by: jrb at February 21, 2007 8:32 PMThere is certainly no shortage of faux-victims running around. Consider the spectrum from Mr. (do you know how hard setting priorities is) Dion, to Mr. (I'm being muzzled) Turner. What is particularly interesting though is the degree to which the Conservative leadership has avoided such behaviour.
Recall before the last election when some flunky asked Mr. Harper if he "Loved Canada". Mr. Harper did not blow a gasket, he responded reasonably, even though the question was unreasonable. And just a few days ago, Mr. McKay was called an "Arse licker of Satan" by that floozy Mary Walsh, and Mr. McKay said, "I don't mind being called that in the name of comedy". Never mind that comedy was the last thing on Ms. Walsh's mind.
Why is this? I think it's because the Conservative leadership see themselves as having a job to do for Canada. For them, it's not about them. The opposition, on the other hand, see themselves as having a job to do for themselves. My only disappointment, so far, is that "A Man, A Plan, A Country, Canada" is not a palindrome.

The Toronto Star; CTV; and CBC feature Liberal's "shock" over PMSH comments a rookie Lib MP's has familial ties to Air India inuiry.
This despite the obvious facts that warrant consideration since the opposition wants to shut down the re-opened Air India scandal and does not want to extend their own anti-terror legislations.
Thin skinned Liberal all over our continent!

Posted by: kelly at February 21, 2007 10:23 PMHillary has never put herself in any forum that her handlers didn't control. The MSM has protected her for years. In interview after interview ad nauseum, she has never had to field tough questions. Her unscrupulous behavior in the White House and at the Rose Law firm always got a pass.
I think in her arrogance she really thinks she can strike a pose, script her responses, keep her hair in shape and skate her way into the White House without being roughed up. What she hasn't factored is the capriciousness of the press and Hollywood. They don't love her as much anymore.
Her voice is shrill. She's humorless and has all of the warmth of a reptile. She's a waffling liar. It's been noted that her ratings are always better when she is out of public sight, not quite presidential material.

How dare the unwashed and unannointed not bow toward New York, and eat cake. She should not have to endure this!
Note: Someone should turn off the oven. She's nearly done.

Posted by: spurwing plover at February 23, 2007 10:11 AMThe US is in big problem if the other clinton becomes President. She lies when she doesn't have to. But of course the clinton's are the best at that. I hope the Queen of shame, the loose cannon does not make it
