Greenpeace, Suzuki, Maurice Strong - all from Canada. Is there something in the water?

Hugo, Hugo, he's our man; if he can't do it, David can!

Posted by: andycanuck at February 14, 2007 2:23 AM

Although I figure Lord of the Flies Suzuki would have Canada on par with Zimbabwe, I really wanted to vote for the Finland with the exciting colors of fruit flies.

I wanted to vote for Cuba...at least they have warm tropical beaches and good cigars. And Cuba seems to be a model for Suzuki and Trudeau and, I'm sure, Layton.

Another interesting review of IPCC 4

Suzuki was at U of W yesterday, and referred to Harper:

"There isn't a green bone in his body," Suzuki said of Harper. "But he's a politician and he hears what we're saying."

If that was another Ralph Klein joke about Belinda and Peter, I'd be thinking that is a good thing...

Posted by: Joanne (TB) at February 14, 2007 6:06 AM

Stephen Harper is also a father. Most fathers care about their kids future and the world they will grow up in.
Suzuki is the politician here.My hunch is that he will run,as a Green, in the next election .Watch for the hemp lawn signs.

Any way you cut it with Comrade Suzuki, it's going to be bad for the rest of US--not for him and his high-flying, gas-guzzling lifestyle.

Why doesn't he hit up his friend Mo Strong, who sits on the Board of the David Suzuki Foundation, to pay for the "clean tech" research?

Why doesn't he hit up his friend Mo Strong, who sits on the Board of the David Suzuki Foundation, to pay for the "clean tech" research?

Because both Uncle Mo and Suzuki only excell when using other people's money. Mo was on the payroll of dictators and the UN, while Suzuki suckled at the crusty nozzle of the CBC for majority of his life.

I wonder if those new Chinese automobiles Mo Strong and Paul Martin are about to flood the North American market with will employ green technology.

Stephane Dion and David Suzuki's hidden agenda for Canada:

-Illegal to heat your house above 15C
-Maximum speed of 80km/h on highways
-Electricity rations
-Men restricted from running for public office
-Huge increases in electricity bills and gas prices
-Illegal to pee standing up at public restrooms
-Chidren under age of 21 must wear helmets inside moving vehicles

Almost there just not quite.

Suzuki is an evangelist lay-priest spewing the green religion to guilt-ridden urban-left cultists. He has a green ministry that rolls in the dough from tapping the guilt and fears of all the same type of victims the old tent meeting evangelists fleeced...insulated (from the real world), spiritually empty people who need to associate with some "revealed truth" and find herd security in blindlt joining the rush to some "holy cause"...the need to have faith in something other than the shallow tenets of consumer materialism and left wing moral relativism ...in this case it is faith in junk science, false prophets of science and their counterfeit revelations of climate apocolypse.

Preacher "Dave" left the lab and the microscope for the pulpit and the TV studio so long ago...he is the epitome of the modern theologic evangelist...his church is the airwaves and media and his bible was written by immensely wealthy oil profiteers (Strong and Gore--- Prophet Strong of Petrocan and Prophet Gore of Occidental Petrolium)

I doubt he has retained any of his scientific discipline....you can't be objective and preach unquestoning faith in a THEORY or spread fear and hysteria...the first talent (objectivity) requires a scientist... the later talents require a politician or a snake oil huckster.

Kate,

There is a G&M poll up which could really use your promotional skill.

Posted by: Grithater at February 14, 2007 9:06 AM

Both the global Prophets of Green (Strong and Gore) are inexorably tied to big oil wealth:

Just to clarify on my last comment....many here are probably aware of the hypocricy of the Canadian oil trader turned green Prophet ( or is it "profit") Moe Strong...the guy who authored the Kyoto plan also made a mint in the oil patch as CEO of Petrocan as well as other major oil companies...as well his connection with Asia Powercor who manufacture/fund coal fired generators in China or anywhere there is no environmental law.

You may not be aware of the other green Prophet Al Gore's sordid personal and family connections to big oil...Occidental Petroleum( Armand Hammer) have been Dole family benefactors for 2 generations ( Like Powercor is with Moe). Al has cut a few sweet deals for "Oxi" petrol in his VP tenure and as a senateor... these are best described here:

http://www.corpwatch.org/article.php?id=468

http://www.newsmax.com/articles/?a=2000/5/11/124032

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20000522/silverstein

Now I don't mind people scoring big on oil development...and I don't begrudge anyone the wealth from doing so...but when I see them turn inside political deals with oil clients while reverted to Green Prophets spewing apocolyptic doomsday hysteria if I use their oil to heat my home and drive to work to pay their oil bill, the stench of hypocrisy becomes too much.

After having heard Chairman Suzuki talk about "encouraging" the hoards to give up the dream of technology and return to the logs cabins of yesteryear, I really think that "1956 China" should've been on the list. That's when elementary agricultural cooperatives of 20-40 households were increased to "higher co-operatives" of 100-300 families.

This was just before the murderous "Great Leap Forward" ('58-'62) where agriculture was suddenly and forcibly abandoned for a mass experiment in instant industrialization (just add iron and stir) leading to millions killed by starvation and the Cultural Revolution ('66-'76) where the iron fist maxim was conform absolutely or be removed, one way or another, from society.

Suzuki believes that there are way too many people living and that precious Mother Gaia is being irrecovably destroyed. Is there a sequel to "The Great Leap" being contemplated as the Suzuki final solution? No wonder why Liberals wouldn't put property rights in the Charter...can anyone hardly wait until the new government encouraged diet fad "Little Red Book 2" comes out?

DAVID SUZUKI and MARICE STRONG as well as DAVID BROWER,JAMES LOVELOCK and AL GORE their all those new age gaia worshipping wackos and crazy as they come they all should be sent to the mental institution i mean THE NUT HOUSE,LOONIE BIN,INSAINE ASSILUM

Posted by: spurwing plover at February 14, 2007 10:23 AM

Martin B" unfortunately you are correct my friend. The bottom line in the global green cult is that the scouge of this planet is ....mankind...and the sooner we start trimming his numbers the sooner mother earth will rebound into the garden utopia so the green elite can have it all to themselves.

At the core of all green activism is an anti-humanist elitist agenda to depopulate...the more detached elites talk of global plagues in a wishful thinking context....the green clergy class like Suzi only scold the idea of human repropagating more than 1.2 prodegy.

Frankly I think if these elites had their own way 2/3 of the global population would be made to vanish through a controlled bio disaster so they can acheive their "green" utopia.

Under every green doomsday hysteric screed there is the cold, calculating agenda of depopulation.

(Suzuki wants)--- "to engineer more environmentally conscious behaviours in the public”

Cardinal Suzuki won't be happy until he has us all chanting,

“We are all fruit flies now.”

If I had the time I'd like to calculate the sum total of the "carbon footprint" generated by His Holiness, Dr. Suzuki and the 40 years we've "enjoyed" him ramming his socialist swill down our collective throats.

How many THOUSANDS of gallons of jet fuel has been burned to schlep this false prophet from coast to coast to tell us how bad the rest of us are?

How about that fancy tour bus he's now using? Don't get me wrong, I love the smell of spent diesel fuel, but why does the MSM not confront Suzuki why HIS diesel engine is good but the Duramax diesel in the Alberta farmer's pickup truck is bad?

If Suzuki wants my respect, he should be preaching from his eco-bible by WALKING across this vast country. How about a wind or solar powered vehicle? Horse and buggy?

What a schmuck.

Posted by: Eskimo at February 14, 2007 11:08 AM

On "The Current" the other day, they had the ubiquitous Suzuki nattering on about climate change -- no surprise there. But who did they invite on with him -- to provide balance no doubt -- but the even more ubiquitous Stephen Lewis, who couldn't find much to disagree with Suzuki about. I suspect that Lewis, now that he is about to end his run as African Aids Idol, is looking for new outlet for his vanity and arrogance.

Posted by: Roseberry at February 14, 2007 12:08 PM

Just for clarification - I was going to vote for a likeness to Venezuela, but I must know; Does Suzi like movies, cause he seems to have the hair. I know he likes film with him as the star.

Hmmmm.....

There are also the emissions created by the media gang and the misguided souls who are coming to hear him speak. Is he buying carbon credits for them?

Hope all those kyotologists in TO and other eastern areas are enjoying those piles of global warming in their driveways, highways, cancelled flights and a few other inconceniences. Will cdns punish all the opposition parties for voting to ruin the economy of canada tonight. I like the idea of Baird introducing a bill with all the measures needed to meeting Kyoto Targets, and then voting against every item in the bill. Let the liberals put up or shut up. Now, Peter M is finally talking about what it will cost and the of implementing it. Shouldn't that have been done weeks ago. The bill passed

Posted by: Joanne (TB) at February 15, 2007 1:46 PM

Thanks, Joanne, that was a treat. The guy talks about "ordinary people" and implies that he's one. Yuck. Yuck.

He DIDN'T say that Mo Strong's a good friend and on the board of his foundation. It would be very interesting to get an accounting of how much Uncle Mo contributes to the DSF--and I guess he's just an ordinary citizen, too.

Posted by: 'been around the block at February 15, 2007 7:33 PM

I think it is high time that this contemptible hatred this phoney has for Canada and Canadians is dealt with. This puss bag hates us and wants his money thieving Kyoto plan at any cost, and there are morons stupid enough to believe this liar Suzkookie. It is very obvious from a medical point of view this idiot suffers early stage dementia or Alzheimers proabably. Paranoia is a trait of Alzheimers sufferers and this fool certianly has that.
