Bad, bad Catholic!
So if Obama becomes president, you can thank Jack Ryan's penis. Which he'd probably like, actually. So don't.
Now, how many Americans who didn't vote for Bill Clinton are likely to vote for Hillary, and send the Great Obfuscinator back[1] to the White House via her skirtails?
Yeah. That's I think, too.
I'm also thinking that if it looks like she's on route to winning the nomination[2], the usual suspects will begin scouting for the next "Ross Perot".
Footnotes:
1. All bets are off if she has the good sense to divorce him before then.
2. Winning the nomination will require Hillary survive the mud splatter from taking out the media's current Goldenbrown Boy. That's going to take some skill.
CNNs John Roberts had a questin of the day, would you vote for Hillary and if not who would you vote for. Most respondents were female, and only 2 said yes. Many said never, and called her a crook. Those saying never, said they would vote Rebublican. I can't wait for Rush to do some side by side audio clips, of Hillary using her telephone voice in her speech, and her real voice in arguments with opponents, or at fundraisers. The poor msm, having to try and make the public buy not only Hillary, but Dion. Expect Anderson Cooper to do some specials on her, after all he has to try and earn his 4 million dollars/yr.
Posted by: mary T. at January 20, 2007 11:21 PMIs Bill ready to have the fashion gurus gush all over what he is wearing, who does his hair, and designs his jewellry, as the presidents spouse. Good thing about her running is she will be away from the senate most of the time, so will not be there for votes and that could cause the republicans to win. Also, being away will let Pelosi do a hatchet job on her. Powerful women do not like anyone to get more power than they have. Watch for Hillary or her handlers to accidentally use her opponents middle name, mispronounce his last name, to get the name HUSSEIN AND OSAMA associated with him. Ted Kennedy has already done it.
Posted by: mary T. at January 20, 2007 11:57 PMThis will galvanize the Republican Party, like nothing else.
I cannot believe these 2 clowns could return to the White House...
Rush's tentative theory on Obama is that he is purposely being built up by the Hillary friendly media so that she can be shown to overcome a formidable challenge. Front runners rarely win so by building up Obama it takes alot of the attention and pressure away from Hillary. Come closer to the primaries the media will start ripping Obama just in time for Hillary to make a huge comeback.
Posted by: Fritz at January 21, 2007 12:54 AMHillary's got too much baggage. Obama has two years in, not enough in this day and age. My bet's on Condi, but then again I don't get to vote.

why do divorced women so very often keep their formerly married surname?
looks like the 1st black president is going to be the token town 'n****r' (note the quotes). 'not that theres anything wrong with that'.
this is the result of the most powerful nation in the history of all human endeavour having an appalling 2 party electoral system. we may vote alternatives into power only rarely but by God at least we have them.

Gawd, how would we breath?

I doubt Hilary's a crook. A billion dollars worth of investigations didn't bring up a single charge. At some point you have to give up the hyperbole.
Posted by: Jose at January 21, 2007 8:42 AMThe Democrats will NEVER give the nomination to either Obama or Hillary.
People forget the the KKK in the US was started by disgruntled DEMOCRATS who were pissed at that damn REPUBLICAN, named Licoln, who freed the slaves.
The Democrats were the dominate party in the southern US for well over a century. The Republicans only gained a foot hold in the south after Kennedy started talking about civil rights. Not that Republicans opposed civil rights, they just didn't back stab the south the way the Democrats did.
The roots of hate run deep in the Democrats, they like their minorities to be seen and heard, but never trusted.
Posted by: Trent at January 21, 2007 9:01 AMTrue enough, Rightwingprof. I stand corrected.
The tiny Canadian progressive blogosphere is quite mad at me, for daring to point out in a previous post that large numbers of people support Obama just because he's black.
I listen to US talk radio every day and both white and black callers tell this to the host time after time. They think it would be wonderful to have a black President. When asked exactly what Obama stands for however, they don't seem quite sure. They just want a black President and he seems "charismatic".
I maintain that skin colour alone is a stupid reason to support any politician. You'd think that would be the true "progressive" point of view.
The angry lefties don't seem to agree, but the only "counter arguments" they seem to be able to mount so far seem to have something to do with me being ugly and needing to get laid.
Gotta love those feminist men!
Apparently, observing that lots of black Americans claim to support Obama simply because he is black is "racist", but the fact that those folks support him just because he's black is _not_ racist.
At the end of the day, I'd rather be ugly than have a brain that "worked" that way.
Posted by: kathy Shaidle at January 21, 2007 9:04 AMThat depends on what your defnition of the word "is" is.
Posted by: Doug at January 21, 2007 9:12 AMJose,
Hillary did actually get caught. When Bill was the Governor she invested a $1000 into the future commodities market and walked out a month later with a $100,000. I believe it was soybeans that she invested in - but I could have the commodity wrong - and it was later proven, during the Ken Lay fiasco, that she had access to a report on the expected harvest that year, and used it to her advantage.
Now, you are saying, "then why wasn't she charged?" Because in the US they have what is called the statute of limitations, and she was caught after her time ran out. I am sure the Republicans will bring it up at the right time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statute_of_limitations
I actually think Hillary would do a good job as Prez, I know that will upset a lot of people, but she campaigns from the left and governs from the right. Like all successful Liberals.
Sorry, one more thing and then I'll go back to my place.
Were I an American citizen, I'd vote for a conservative black candidate for president. That and 3 bucks gets you a latte.
Obama has a 100% progressive voting record. But this doesn't seem to be as big a factor as him being black or mixed race or young or good looking or whatever. He doesn't help matters by speaking mostly in platitudes rather than policy points.
I don't understand why his record seems to be either a mystery or an irrelevance to so many Americans. He's the great black hope straight out of central casting and that's all that matters apparently.
People who voted for JFK because he was "young" (Nixon was the same age btw) or RFK because he had nice hair or will support Romney because he's a Mormon or oppose him for the same reason (and just for that reason) are being just as foolish.
Not even _I_ have bothered with the "Muslim" semi-facts in Obama's bio because they don't seem that relevant. yet. Most kids can't pick the school they attend.
What amazes me (I can't believe I still have a shred of naivete left in my ugly, needs-to-get-laid body) is that simply _pointing out the obvious_ can work progressives into such a (phosphate free, eco friendly) lather.
Posted by: kathy Shaidle at January 21, 2007 9:15 AMWell we know for sure how Arnie from Caleefoneeya feels about "girlie men".
Should be a hoot when he makes his visit to Canada in the near future.
May actually attract more attention than Howie, the really Big Scream, which did nothing for the Libranos. At least Arnie is a successful politician, he wins!
Short Memory syndrome endemic on the left Jose?
Two words fer ya, cattle futures.
Or how about the magical, dissapearing/reappearing Rose law firm documents?
We all know what she is. The question is, will the MSM con job work this time?
Posted by: The Phantom at January 21, 2007 9:53 AMwell, Kathie, after witnessing a mob of moonbats attack a 72 yr old vet at a Reform party meeting in the early days in Ontario, anything the moonbat/dipper/librano crowd does not surpise me anymore...it is the only strategy/tactics that work for them, because they have nothing else...one must have very thick skin to take that crowd on....good luck kid
Posted by: kingstonlad at January 21, 2007 9:57 AMWonder how many pics we'll be seeing of Stick Chick Stronach and Billary? Once the Libs lose and dump Dion, will Stick Chick feel the urge to toss her hat into the ring for the leadership to demonstrate that she has more credibility as a brunette?
Posted by: Iron Lady at January 21, 2007 10:40 AMThe latest charge against Obama is that he attended an Islamofascist madrassa as a child while living in Indonesia. He's also as 'black' as Halle Berry - "This is a great win for black people." Meanwhile the camera cuts to her lilly white mother.
But the biggest problem is who is this guy? He appears out of nowhere, stepping directly into the media spotlight. But, but...he's got zero executive experience. Despite this, Americans are supposed to believe that he's somehow qualified to be the most powerful executive in the world? Frightening.
Posted by: irwin daisy at January 21, 2007 11:06 AMThis could lasso a certain voting block;
“Mr. Obama was raised as a Muslim by his stepfather in Indonesia. Sources close to the background check, which has not yet been released, said Mr. Obama, 45, spent at least four years in a so-called Madrassa, or Muslim seminary, in Indonesia.”
http://www.insightmag.com/Media/MediaManager/Obama_2.htm
I certainly hope that you're right about Hillary, Kate, but I fear that you're not. She gets her name and picture on television and in the newspapers just about every day. The MSM constantly run flattering pieces about her and have refused to pursue the "commodity futures" lie, the "lost billing records" lie, or any other scandals to which she's been a part. Contrast that with their "reporting" (really editorials run on officially non-opinion pages) on Valerie Plame, Scooter Libby, the Iraq war, etc.
It is not wise not to take her seriously just because she would be a terrible President. She has a chance, and, in my opinion, a good chance, and the results would be disastrous - judicial appointments that will make Ruth Bader Ginsburg look like Antonin Scalia, tax hikes that will produce fond memories of Slick Willie's taxes, and federal government intervention into every aspect of our lives that will make Americans think of Great Britain as a bastion of personal liberty.
Like it or not, she's a superstar, and the Republicans don't have a superstar. Arnold Schwarzenegger is ineligible to hold the office of President, since he wasn't born an American citizen. If John McCain is nominated, the MSM will very quickly remember that he's seventy-two years old (in 2008 - three years older than Ronald Reagan was in 1980, when his age was an issue) and that he's had two bouts with malignant melanoma. Rudy Giuliani? Maybe, but he's had a bout with prostate cancer.
Revnant Dream, allow me a correction: Hillary is not an Arkansas hillbilly. She was born in Chicago, and raised in Park Ridge, an upper-middle-class suburb of Chicago. She then spent her college years in Massachusetts (at Wellesley), and her law school years in Connecticut (at Yale).
Posted by: Silicon Valley Jim at January 21, 2007 11:25 AMTo quote myself:
In answer to the following question in an ABC/Washington Times poll: "37. Do you have a favorable or unfavorable impression of (NAME)? Do you feel that way strongly or somewhat?" Hillary Clinton scored 56% favourable, with 27% "strongly favourable." Obama's numbers were 44% and 21%, trailing Nancy Pelosi and John Edwards. For the opposition, Rudy Giuliani racked up 67% and 49%.
So Hillary looks good for being the next President--unless she's running against Giuliani. As it is, she's hardly marginal, as Kate seems to suggest.
Posted by: Dr.Dawg at January 21, 2007 11:50 AMSilicon Valley Jim :
Thanks for the correction. I did know though. I should have included that in the post. Thanks for pointing it out least some don't know it. When typing this, It just seemed to me more apropos for her actions over the years.
She has lived with Clinton for so long , It has rubbed off on her consciousness, from close association.
She may be a Hampton debutante, but her instincts are pure hill country mercenary. (O:}
Trust me . Being from Alberta, I know the type.
This guy has come out of no ware. Just like Jimmy Carter did. With less experience & nothing but skin color to distinguish him. That with his puppy dog ways.
We all know how that farce turned out & continues to this day. In Anti-Semitic Technicolor by this peanut farmer playing world adjudicator.
My Questions are. Who is the real Obama? what does he believe, if anything?
The MSM enchantment with him, tries to evoke the feeling that the second coming of Christ has occurred.
Are the Democrates this hollow, or deficient of any real substantive candidates?

Posted by: marc in calgary at January 21, 2007 1:14 PMIf Obama is now a Christian, but was once a Muslim, does that not make him an apostate? The frothing imams won't like that. That little madrassas gig alone will disqualify him.
Regarding Hillary, you will literally see millions of broken glass Republicans* going to the polls. This should be quite to watch. Personally, I would lean Duncan Hunter/Newt Gingrich.
*a broken glass Republican is a Republican who will walk barefoot over broken grass to cast a vote. They were quite absent in the 2006 election...
Posted by: Michael at January 21, 2007 1:20 PMI've got money I'm going to put down once the *line* is out in Vegas. Hillary will not be the next President.
Yes, the MSM will be touting her. And yes, the people who get all their news from the MSM will say they are going to vote for her. And yes, they are also the people who get polled.
But, interestingly enough, I have not be able to find even ONE women that I have asked the question (Will you vote for Hillary for President?) that will answer in the affirmative. Here in the upper mid-West there is a visceral dislike of Hillary by nearly all men, and nearly all women. Some of their responses regarding Hillary are not printable here. I understand this strong dislike is widespread in that vast area of flyover country.
I ask these women also if any pollster has EVER asked their opinion. Their answer is 100% no.
I really do hope the Dems run Hillary. It will result in a very large turnout on election day, and it will not be in her favor.
She ain't (sic) electable as President.
Posted by: Yoop at January 21, 2007 1:28 PMHilary exposed herself as power-drunk when Billy Boy first took office. "We didn't elect her" was heard all across the USA as she tried to take on the Health Insurance agenda while holding the Office of First Lady. She scares people - both Dems and Repubs. For good reason. Expect every trick in the book from Hilary. She wants power too badly to leave any weapon in the arsenal unused.
Posted by: shaken at January 21, 2007 1:29 PMQuestion of the day.......didn't hildebeast already do her two terms????
Seriously, if the Republicans needed a kickstart to motivate, it has been delivered. I personally think their one chance at winning the White House again rests with Sen John McCain. It will be an interesting two years.
Posted by: Odie441 at January 21, 2007 2:39 PMIt is really far too early to take either Hillary or Obama seriously. Obama doesn't have the experience and Hillary has too much baggage. Plus, the Democrats will NEVER let a woman, or a minority, have that much power , it is just never going to happen.
If anyone one wants to start a prediction blog, I would like to hear about it.

my sister divorced her 2nd husband with whom she had a son; it was then her 2nd change of surname. she opted for her maiden name after the divorce. the lad, much to his credit adopted the family surname to match his mom and abandoned the surname of his now divorced and vanished father.
