For the last several decades my new year's meta-resolution has been to not make new year's resolutions, and I've never failed. When it comes to new year's resolutions, I agree with Yoda: “Do or do not... there is no try.”

A little off topic, but I wonder if P.E.T.A. is aware of this, maybe they need to make a new years resolution:

I have spent the last week trying to come up with a resolution, and nada, zilch, zip, zero, goose egg, nothing, empty,Keith Richards, sheep in a snowstorm,Suzuki, nadir, empty, dart on the floor,so I will not pursue the matter,I will accept myself as I am. But if that cute girl at the Mac's would really think .................

firm resolution: lose 15- 20 pounds of flab and replace it with 10 pounds of muscle, setting a new record for bench or leg press or non-stop situps in the process.

wish list for 2007:

progress in the ME that promotes security for Israel

huge advances in the role of socially and politically relevant blogs

a majority for PMSH and an embarrassment for mr half-n-half Dion

a concomitant realisation on the right they aren’t always right about everything and the left isn’t always wrong.

a new legislative step that consists of playing devil’s advocate to root out any potential loopholes, that way we don’t get repetitions of things like YOA and income trusts.

a couple dazzling victories by CAFes against taliban in Afghanistan.

a couple more wretched scandals involving exposure of bias and outright falsehoods by MSM, thus marking a turning point from which they either reform or fade.

less ego driven heel digging on the global warming debate and measures that in the end at the very least result in cleaner air and efficient use of resources

an announcement from NASA and EU Space Agency on a co-operative effort to establish a long term presence on the moon including construction of some observatories which will operate free of atmospheric distortion and be easier to maintain and operate with a much longer life expectancy than satellite based type.

I resolve to do all I can to help Brad Wall get elected as Premier of Saskatchewan.

I resolve to do all I can to help Stephen Harper obtain a majority government as we surely will go to the polls in a federal election in 2007.

I resolve to volunteer more of my time to a worthy charitable cause in my community in 2007.

I resolve to do all I can to help the Habs win cup number 25 in 2007.

All worthy pursuits!

To make sure the Tories don't form a government. To make sure the Saska/Tory Party doesn't win the next provincial election.
