It might help the Conservative cause if they informed the general public why funds were cut, rather than allowing the Liberals to position the Conservatives as "mean spirited" and against women, the needy, students, etc. (the theme of Bill Graham's flyer sent to my home). OTTAWA – NDP MP Pat Martin has filed a complaint to the Commissioner of Canada Elections to look into possible illegal liberal fundraising being done by the group Canadian Liberals Acting Against The Climate Crisis ("CLAACC") through their Web site www.climateliberal.ca.

Martin explains in his letter how Liberal stalwart John Duffy has created a new Web site that uses the Liberal Party of Canada’s logo to raise money for the Liberal Party outside of Canada’s election financing rules.

“The Liberals, they have never met a rule they didn’t want to circumvent in order to keep big money involved in politics,” said Martin. “That none of them have a clue how to clean up the Liberal mess is bad enough, but to see them continue to try and skirt around the rules that do exist is outrageous. Its no wonder Canadians still think they are a corrupt party.”

Martin has been pointing out how Liberal Leadership candidates have been virtually ignoring ethics during the Liberal leadership race, despite the fact that a recent poll found that 50% of Liberal voters believe that the Liberal Party is arrogant or corrupt.

“After ten months of watching the Liberals’ rat race we are shocked to see no plan from any of the candidates to address ethics and cleaning up politics,” said Martin.

Re Belinda's new look - on last night's Michael Coren Show, David Menzies referred to her as a "bimbo". I thought Marilyn Churley, former NDP cabinet minister, who usually has a pretty good sense of humour, was going to have a fit! Apparently things got pretty heavy between the two during the commercial time-out, but Menzies didn't recant.

I don't equate rich with right-wing but in general wealth is a fair indication of a person's sympathies. None of the people you mention are left-wing. They are small 'l' liberals.
