Heh, Indeed!

Thanks very much for the link to the Carnival of Liberty. You may be amused to find that Glenn Reynolds linked to it last night, but that hits from SDA are _vastly_ outnumbering the hits from Instapundit. (I'm a small-traffic site, so it's quite noticeable when there's a spike in traffic).

Anyone see the wonderful "Instapundit Magic 8 Ball" at IMAO.us? The "answers" are Heh, Indeed, Faster Please and Quote Ann Althouse.

SDAvalanches are awesome beasts indeed. When Antonia Zerbisias linked to one of my sites I got a whole 75 hits. When Kate links to one of my items I can usually expect a few thousand hits.

Does Zerb actually have 75 readers???

Posted by: Texas Canuck at September 8, 2006 11:44 AM

Same here, Sean. Nealenews once sent me about 2,000 people in one day. The same post got about 1200 from SDA -- and well under 100 from Zerb.

Michelle Malkin is the only person who sends me more, then Mark Shea and Mark Steyn.

When Canadian progressive blogs link to me (to kvetch about something) they only send over about 20 to 50 readers at most.

PS: every single day, for the past 5 years, I've received about 50 readers per day from Colby Cosh, just for being a long-forgotten link on his blogroll. :-)

"We clearly need a new word for "an avalanche of hits from SDA"!

How about:

Gopher Stampede!

RoadKill-lanch? Kate-a-lanch?

Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at September 8, 2006 3:14 PM

How about a Saskatchewan Chinook?

Not a stampede, lanch or chinook, I think more like Site Down Again
