This is our year! But I have said that for the past 3 years now... :-(
Posted by: trevor at July 17, 2006 9:06 PMI'm hoping so too Trevor. But I don't think we shoulda beat BC on the weekend :( The 1st interception in the endzone was borderline pass interference.... And the second quarter might as well not have had our team on the field.
(whoever made the schedule needs a new box of crayons I am sure... 3x calgary and 3x BC in first 8 games...oi)
I am feeling optomisitc tho :) The offence has been putting points on the board. And the Defence seems to be getting teh rust off and playing better.
We are gonna have a good year and be near the top even if we don't win it all.
Posted by: Barcs at July 17, 2006 9:49 PMYou support a community-owned team? What are you, a communist?
nope.. just a small townian... where you support each other. (support them.. not do it for them)
... Too bad you are the ones that ened up with Burris... Has he figured out how to quit that red zone interception thingy he does???

Tell me about it. I'm not at all optimistic. It's a good thing the whole division sucks haggis this year.
support them.. not do it for them
Are you upset about the provincial government forgiving their loan?

Posted by: Martin B. at July 17, 2006 10:51 PMHire Kate. She dropped that gopher on the picture in her garden a while back.
Posted by: qwerty at July 17, 2006 10:58 PMGo Eskimos!
Posted by: BBS at July 17, 2006 10:59 PMFor your cfl fix, check out riderfans.com. I highly recommend the Man In the Stands section and Monday Morning Perspective. Better football coverage than anything you will see in a newspaper.
Go Riders!
Posted by: The Hold at July 17, 2006 11:43 PMA gopher gun would result in a ten backyard penalty in my part of Calgary. Any other ideas that work when neighbours are only ten feet away?

I work in BC and after a week of getting hassled about the game, I posted this picture in the office with a little cartoon talk bubble over it saying "Ow my pride!"
This is good.
Posted by: squidoo at July 18, 2006 12:53 AMMartinB , have you tried to get a UN resolution telling the gophers to stay out of your yard?
Put handouts over the fence and feed them and they will stay put, in theory.
Posted by: cal2 at July 18, 2006 8:37 AMMartin B, when we were kids, we made snares out of binder twine(finer than baler twine) and then we would patiently wait with the snare looped around the hole. Man that was so long ago. I actually still have some binder twine balls.
Posted by: harb at July 18, 2006 8:53 AMSports, ball, gopher shooting..

Space camera evidence of why the fishing is spectacular along Vancouver Island*s outside shoreline. Vancouver Island, Canadian paradise to be sure, however you must adjust to some very dark weather between November and February. = TG
Cal2, if I follow your advice I'll have to get the yard re-zoned for high-density residential and apply to get the area re-named "Gopherland"
Posted by: Martin B. at July 18, 2006 6:01 PMhow about "the gopher strip" keep them penned in for a year and they self destruct just like the palestinians.
