Calling Madonna a dog is insulting to your four-legged roommates Kate.

Although, as a 47 year old she is in pretty good shape and can dance, she is just like the myriad of other entertainment folks who think because they have some acting, singing, dancing, etc talent, then they are obliged to tell the rest of us how to live, eat, vote and think. The thing I am concerned about is that there are a lot of people out there that believe that crap and follow blindly repeating the mantra du jour.

Happy Victoria's Secret Day up there in the thawing north.

Oooop! Sorry Kate, should have read a little better... nag not dog.

Posted by: texas canuck at May 22, 2006 11:48 AM

I have noticed that entertainment icons (actors, actresses, singers, performers), sports stars (football, basketball, baseball, hockey players and racing drivers)start to believe their own press releases and act accordingly. When they start to speak in the Imperial "we" you can tell they've just about succombed. It's sad, really. But, in part it's the fault of the news media who hype up all this stuff. If' they'd justignore the dumbies things might be better.

Mike, agree somewhat but Madonna is quite unique where performing and business intersect. As a matter of fact, keeping to the theme of this thread, she's crazy like a fox.
Like her or hate her, these controversies she regularly creates have kept her in,or at least very close to the spotlight for decades.Crazy like a fox indeed!

I don't think you can blame the news media in cases like this Mike.
If people are willing to pay 380.00, and make this the most successful tour by a female artist to date. It would seem many see some value being shined on by a successful sleezebag even when shes a hypocritical idiot.
It shouldn't be many more years before her age can't be overcome by leather suits, zany antics and riding crops.
I wonder how she'll take it?

Mugs,

Tina Turner is still touring at 60...but Tina's got more talent in her little finger than Madonna's got in her whole (not so hot) body!

(And for a 60 year old lady, Tina looks pretty damn good! :-)

Posted by: Dave at May 22, 2006 2:04 PM

I certainly wouldn't disagree with you there Dave.
A couple things though Tinas talent comes with class
, the natural abilty to sing, and the timeless grace of a lady.
Madonna's talent is of the golfball and garden hose variety, certainly a natural quality to some that isn't so scarce , and doesn't do so well when the effects of gravity and wrinkles are added.

In a few years the aging fool (known as Madonna)will look just like Bridget Bardo. The desirability of youth and the power that goes with a beautiful body and a lovely face only lasts a few years. The power of character - like that of Margaret Thatcher, Winston Churchill, Laura Bush, Myron Thompson, Grace Parsonage (my grandmother) - makes people more beautiful and endearing as they grow older. This aging old gal really is near the end of her (power) rope.

Maddona is reviewing this book and will be on Oprah to disgust and take Questions. Take CAIR, Maddona.

And don’t miss Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s new book: The Caged Virgin: An Emancipation Proclamation for Women and Islam....

And Madonna is credible as a writer of children's stories?

She's a total disgrace to the name "Madonna," and obviously, thinks far too highly of herself.

One day, she will have to stand before the person who actually hung on a cross for her sins, and then I wonder what moves she'll use? I don't think He'll be all that impressed by her looks.

But that Tina Turner. What a dame!! Tina's the real thing and Madonna is a fake.

"On the way home we passed a couple who were in their sixties. I could see the recognition in their eyes so I said, 'How ya doin?'

"The old guy replied, 'I only got one thing to say to you' - and put his hand in the sign of a 'W'.

"I went bananas - and that wasn't one tenth of how badly my wife reacted. Needless to say, it's been a difficult last couple of years.

discuss or disgust?. I suppose in Madonna's case its usually about the same.

Wow! Madonna, Jon Bon Jovi and the Dixie Chicks have all enlightened me about this Bush character.

Ya know, before the next election, I gotta pick me up a copy of People magazine and read what the celebs have to say. That way I can find out how I should vote.

Thank God there are musicians in this world to help guide me down the right ideological path.

News is the surgery is over. Barbaro is up and about, trying to bite people and showing interest in the mares in the stable.

"Barbaro is up and about, trying to bite people and showing interest in the mares in the stable"

ahh, a horse after my own heart!

As for Madonna, who cares what an old woman with delusions of sexiness has to say about politics?

Hey sooz, you forgot Neil Young, the canadian in the USA.

Celebrities.

They're so cute and they say the darndest things.

Entertainers are like idiot savants. Just like the fricken rainman.

They do one thing well (sing, dance, etc.) and in every other aspect of life they are retards.

You can just see the twits. Instead of "aboot a hundwed dah-lahs" you get "Booowsh is Hitler." Other than that, the're the same.

This is why so many didn't finish high school and end up divorced in their 72nd marriage after about 2 hours. They are retards.

The less attention paid to them the better.

In the National Post today, on page 3 is a "life size" foto of the post operation X-ray of Barbaro's leg.
With 23 screws in it.

Tina Turner is 60? i.d. please...
In entertainment heaven, someday Madonna will be answering this woman's telephones, making her coffee, reading her mail.

French radio too French, say Quebec broadcasters

Given the choice, the province's broadcasters argue, Quebec kids would rather hear more Madonna and less Lapointe. nealenews
