Greenhouse theory smashed by biggest stone (most potent greenhouse gas is H2O)

A new theory to explain global warming was revealed at a meeting at the University of Leicester (UK) and is being considered for publication in the journal "Science First Hand". The controversial theory has nothing to do with burning fossil fuels and atmospheric carbon dioxide levels.
According to Vladimir Shaidurov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the apparent rise in average global temperature recorded by scientists over the last hundred years or so could be due to atmospheric changes that are not connected to human emissions of carbon dioxide from the burning of natural gas and oil. Shaidurov explained how changes in the amount of ice crystals at high altitude could damage the layer of thin, high altitude clouds found in the mesosphere that reduce the amount of warming solar radiation reaching the earth's surface.
...
The role of water vapour in controlling our planet's temperature was hinted at almost 150 years ago by Irish scientist John Tyndall. Tyndall, who also provided an explanation as to why the sky is blue, explained the problem: "The strongest radiant heat absorber, is the most important gas controlling Earth's temperature. Without water vapour, he wrote, the Earth's surface would be 'held fast in the iron grip of frost'." Thin clouds at high altitude allow sunlight to reach the earth's surface, but reflect back radiated heat, acting as an insulating greenhouse layer. + more...

If the kidnappers were so kind, and the terrorists are so misunderstood, and the cpt are so christian and honest ect, why did he hide his homosexual life style from them. Is he ashamed of it. Why didn't the media make an issue of this when talking about the hostages. The message I get is that the media and the hostage really believe this is not a normal lifestyle and are ashamed of it. Some reports have said these cpt workers are prepared to die, in their effort to help the terrorists. Guess they lied. This guy had a chance to put his money where his mouth is and failed. Hope no one still in Iraq is killed as it might be assumed by the terrorists that all cpt workers are homosexuals, and that is against the law. Beirut, 28 March (AKI) - A bomb blast rips through a Beirut street killing former Lebanese premier Rafik Hariri and 20 others. Minutes later two secret service agents, one Lebanese, the other Syrian speak to each other on the phone. That was on 14 February 2005, but now a recording of the conversation has come to light and is in the possession of UN investigators who believe it marks a breakthrough in their probe on Hariri's assassination.
"It's an important step forward in the investigation. Proof exists of regular meetings between Syrian and Lebanese security officials and a Lebanese group known for its close ties to Damascus," sources close to the UN panel leading the probe told the Saudi daily ash-Sharq al-Awsat.
In addition investigators are examining dozens of other phone recordings made before and after the bomb blast involving Syrian and Lebanese security officials and suspected members of the Lebanese group Ahbash or Jamiyyat al-mashari al-khayriyya al-islamiyya (Islamic Association for Charity Projects).
The telephone calls are believed to have been intercepted by British intelligence officials, which could explain, the sources said, why British foreign secretary Jack Straw accused Syria of involement in Hariri's killing a week after the bombing. +

Posted by: marc in calgary at March 28, 2006 1:30 PMSent by e-mail to ALL M.P.'s:
Dear Prime Minister Harper;
A new 'editorial' by CBC President Tony Burman has reaffirmed by belief that it is time for the CBC to be disbanded or at least like every other broadcaster, to sink or swim based on viewer and sponsor financial support.
Mr. Burman, in a piece published on March 27th, expressed complete support for the Chrisitan Peacemaker Team organization (CPT), whose members placed the personnel of Canada, the U. S and Britain in danger through their own misguided actions. To add insult, they first refused to acknowledge any sense of gratitude and then grudgingly, mentioned the British and Canadians while pointedly ignoring the partcipation of American servicemen.
However, the point here is not the action of the CPT but rather that of Mr. Burman, the head and chief spokesman of the publically funded CBC. He begins by saying he would have taken "heroic action'' and "quietly snatched" any copies of competing media that were critical of the CPT, in order to spare them the pain of Canadian negativity. While my nephew voluntarily puts his life on the line in Afganistan, this is Mr. Burman's idea of 'heroic action'. How sad.
I was mildly amused that Mr. Burman hoped that Air Canada "didn't charge (you) for the wine", I felt that the CPT should be billed for the cost of their rescue and return. Mr. Burman in his smug, moral superiority dismisses the 79% of Canadians who in a G&M poll, said the CPT were the "authors of their own misfortune" by saying "informed criticism is legitimate" while implying that the public's criticism is baseless and unfair.
The most galling aspect of this is that my tax dollars are being used to expound views that Mr. Burman purports to be on behalf of all Canadians. He says the CPT action was "classically Canadian" and "admirable and courageous". Many of us feel the CPT action was anything but admirable, as it gave succor to our enemies. As for being courageous, it would more accurately be described as foolhardy and dangerous.
Mr. Burman's skewed and naive view of world history describes only Canada's "peaceful involvement in the world. Not military conflict or conquests, but peacemaking and peacekeeping". What of the hundreds of thousands of brave men and women who over the decades, sacrificed family and sometimes life, in order to maintain our freedoms? Do they mean nothing to Mr. Burman, or were our servicemen and women simply misguided and mis-informed in their folly?
It is time for the CBC budget and personnel to be re-evaluated, Mr. Harper. Where once their might have been an argument for a 'national broadcaster', that time has passed. It's a multi-channel, internet world and I don't want my hard earned money being used to support a biased, insular and cowardly ("we could easily describe the drawings in simple and clear English without actually showing them.") broadcaster that represents only a small portion of the Canadian tableau.
Regards

In this document ISGZ-2004-028179 there is a report by the Assistant of the Iraqi Intelligence Director to his boss “The Director” dated January/23/2003 regarding the visit of one German and one Frenchman to Iraq and these two guys talk about their strong relation with the top government officials in both France and Germany. In this letter the German that German Chancellor Schroeder was totally opposed to the idea of the war in Iraq and it his opposition to the possible war that made him win the German elections held in 2002. Also there is an important part of the letter where it mention the visit of German Chancellor to meet with the Chinese Prime minister and that the Chinese PM told Schroeder “about the information that was obtained by the Chinese intelligence and it says that Iraq has moved his mass of destruction weapon to Syria and the German Chancellor told him that the German intelligence did not indicate this. And after two days the US state secretary went to Damascus to check on this with the Syrian government that in turn denied this news.” Also in the letter it show the fear of the French to join the war because of the heavy losses that will suffer..

*****************************AN EXCERPT from Security Watchtower************************
According to a Free Republic translation of an Iraqi Intelligence document, Chinese Intelligence had picked up information that Iraq had moved their weapons of mass destruction to Syria. The document reveals Chinese Prime Minister Zhu Rongji had held a meeting with German President Gerhard Schroeder and told him "the information that was obtained by the Chinese intelligence and it says that Iraq has moved his mass of destruction weapon to Syria and the German Chancellor told him that the German intelligence did not indicate this. And after two days the US state secretary went to Damascus to check on this with the Syrian government that in turn denied this news.”
The trip by Colin Powell to Syria in February 2001 may be what the document is referring to. According to the report, Secretary Powell announced a last minute, unscheduled visit to Syria, saying he was "going to be stopping in Damascus, Syria, to meet with President Bashir Assad" in order to hold talks and "present a report to President Bush as to what we should be doing." +

Former US president Bill Clinton said the world had wasted a "phenomenal" opportunity for a global debate on religious differences after the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed. Clinton, on a trip to London, said few people would have been aware that Muslims found the reproduction of such images so offensive. At the same time, few Muslims were aware of other religions' sensitivities, such as Jews' reluctance to write the word "God," he said in a speech on globalisation at the Guildhall. Behind the scenes, the Conservative government is changing the very structure of its departments to reflect a new focus on Canada-U.S. relations.
Earlier this month, staff at Foreign Affairs and at International Trade were told their departments would be reunited. Former prime minister Paul Martin had split them in two, creating an administrative nightmare that was still sorting itself out when the Liberals were defeated in January.
Now they'll be back together again, and the Conservatives have approved a major expansion of the mega-department's North American branch.
Anything that touches on trade or politics between Canada and the United States or Mexico will be in a centralized office - sources say a more strategic approach than in previous years. Affairs with all other countries will be dealt with under another branch.
The reorganization reflects the prime minister's determination to make the relationship with the United States a priority. +

Immigrants Waging War in Sweden
At Brussels Journal, Fjordman translates a disturbing series of quotes from a Swedish newspaper article about the crime wave sweeping the city of Malmö: Swedish Welfare State Collapses as Immigrants Wage War. (Hat tip: grayp.)
Fjordman writes: “Although it is not stated, most of the immigrant perpetrators are Muslims. In one of the rare instances where the Swedish media actually revealed the truth, the newspaper Aftonbladet reported several years ago that 9 out of 10 of the most criminal ethnic groups in Sweden came from Muslim countries. This must be borne in mind whilst reading the following newspaper article:”
Immigrants are “waging war” against Swedes through robbery
The wave of robberies the city of Malmö has witnessed during this past year is part of a “war against the Swedes.” This is the explanation given by young robbers from immigrant backgrounds when questioned about why they only rob native Swedes, in interviews with Petra Akesson for her thesis in sociology. “I read a report about young robbers in Stockholm and Malmö and wanted to know why they rob other youths. It usually does not involve a lot of money,” she says. She interviewed boys between 15 and 17 years old, both individually and in groups.
Almost 90% of all robberies reported to the police were committed by gangs, not individuals. “When we are in the city and robbing we are waging a war, waging a war against the Swedes.” This argument was repeated several times. “Power for me means that the Swedes shall look at me, lie down on the ground and kiss my feet.” The boys explain, laughingly, that “there is a thrilling sensation in your body when you’re robbing, you feel satisfied and happy, it feels as if you’ve succeeded, it simply feels good.” “It’s so easy to rob Swedes, so easy.” “We rob every single day, as often as we want to, whenever we want to.” The immigrant youth regard the Swedes as stupid and cowardly: “The Swedes don’t do anything, they just give us the stuff. They’re so wimpy.” The young robbers do not plan their crimes: “No, we just see some Swedes that look rich or have nice mobile phones and then we rob them."
