Excerpt:

This has been going on for days now. Sometimes it is a solid page of Google search hits. What used to be normally dead times, early morning hours from 2am to 6am Eastern, are now a constant buzz of search activity.

The protesters, people who want to make sure the Prophet is never mocked, satirized, or disrespected, have succeeded in making sure more people have looked at the image of the Prophet and laughed than if they had simply kept silent.

Now here's a thought. I wonder how many of those Google hits are from good Muslims surreptitiously taking a peek at the forbidden.

So much laughter to be punished.

So many people to behead.

And it's getting worse hour by hour. >>

"we have no virgins left" is a little funny. hell, um heck, where are these virgins coming from and are they disposable? you can only be a virgin or a suicide bomber once. 'course if the bombers come back as virgins then the more the merrier or..oh never mind

I really hope this blogburst just overwhlems these nutjobs that think they can dicate to the world.

Th burts will hopefully expose the massive hatred that motivates so much of the Islamic world. They look around, see how many centuries they are behind, how useless they are in science & technology, art & literatire and manifest their inferiority as hatred of the west.

If they didn't have oil, the world would ignore them like they ignore Castro and other failed regimes.

The best weapon is too mock them, laugh at them and maybe they'll wake up.

Much cheaper & better weapon than the military

Bah, I was posting Muslim Photoshops months ago, under the old Liberal regime, back when it was dangerous and uncool to do so. Here's what happened:

"Anonalogue is an outspoken heterosexist, religious biggot and Magic Card aficionado. He crosses lines. Heck, he spits on lines...He blatantly displays a picture of a Muslim man with a caption reading, “Ayatollah: I sodomized my 14 year old wife last night! Praise Allah! Special Report: Buggery and Islam. Is this Religion All About Butt Sex Or What?” Normally this type of disgusting and depraved behavior on a blog would be beneath notice..."

http://jamesbowie.blogspot.com/2005/11/even-anonalogues-blatant-racism-and.html

The funny part is that young James isn't even old enough to recognise the "Muslim man" I photoshopped: Ayatollah Khomeini :-)

Thank goodness more and more newspapers and blogs (and thanks, Kate, for doing it) are publishing these cartoons.

The Muslim community cannot act as totalitarian demagogues over the world. As noted, their reaction is not - cartoons about Western religions, or debate or whatever. It's a reaction that says "Either you behave as we do, even in the West, even if you think and believe in different modes of life - or we'll kill you".

They can claim death to their own people and claim that they have the right to control the thoughts and voices of Muslims, but, they have no right to any claims over our thought processes or behaviour.

In the West, you can have plays about Jesus as gay, you can have obscene images of..etc, etc..and, you might get angry letters to the theatre, but, you don't get people threatening to murder all people in the city where that play takes place, or simply..all people.

The Muslim community has to grow up out of the medieval period, stop assuming ideological control over the entire world..and..allow dissent and debate among their own people.

Above all- they have no right to dictate what others think and do..

Having watched all the Fawlty Towers series over Xmas, I just can't get "The Germans Are Coming" episode out of my mind when Basil Fawlty, after his jokes and wordplay fell flat with his German guests, exclaimed, "What NOT FUNNY!!! you're joking".

A while back while reading The Legacy of Jihad (Andrew G. Bostom) I couldn't shake the sense that Islam needs a good "Life of Brian" kind of film.

What total jokers they are! Er, wrong word maybe?

Posted by: Peter Leftcoster at February 3, 2006 10:11 PM

Boy, this is getting stupid.

Virtually everyone of any authority in the West is currently bending over backwards to apologize (for the normal exercise of hard-won fundamental freedoms) to particularly vocal members of one cult.

Well, Anonalogue, get a load of this, from last August.

http://canadiancynic.blogspot.com/2005/07/situational-logic-right-wing-style.html

Like so many if its ilk, the coward can't even read, as pointed out in the comments - though the writing "style" is suspiciously similar to a threat once left in my comments by Meaghan Walker-Williams (under one of her many aliases) to "invite" the Indian Posse to pay me a visit.

Posted by: Kate at February 3, 2006 10:29 PM

Well, the cartoons are pretty lame if you ask me. Kind of like Beavis & Butthead which I never thought too brilliant BUT, the turmoil it has produced is incredible. These guys are on a roll. Doesn't matter what the perceived injustice, they will riot. Remember the alledged Koran thing in Gitmo? No proof but then as Jean of Cretien would say..." da proof is da proof and i knows da proof when I sees it" or something like that. And they are winning too. They have everyone walking on eggshells lest they might offend.

How about starting a rumour that Bush has said that the sun will rise in the east and set in the west. Then the protests will be about how GWB is taking over the tasks of Allah.

sigh...

The Religion of Peace is at it again!

The Danish cartoons themselves are not really that horrifyin' OR funny, IMHO. But the fury that has erupted around them is hilarious! I mean, we all saw these cartoons back in September when they first made a splash. No one ever thought we'd see WW3 because of it!!

So why is Islamic fury building anew? To fan the flames of Muslim outrage, Danish Islamists fabricated their own blasphemies to pin on the Jyllands-Posten newspaper...

The multi-cultural chickens of Europe are coming home to roost. Radical Islam scorns the culture of appeasement and view it rightfully so as a mark of weakness. The west had better realize that we are engaged in a battle that the Islamists view as a natural extension of the holy wars.

Only in the nick of time did we rid ourselves of the weak kneed Libs who were willing to bend to the wims aof any and all special interest groups that made enough noise.

Ontario would have accepted Sharia law for family court except for the feminists intervention. Special interest A trumps special interest B.

We as a nation had best scrape the PC shit off our boots and start acting like the christian founded country we are lest the insanity of radical Islam take deeper root here.

Recognize your enemy and act accordingly.

Ironic isn't it that these primitive nutcases go ballistic over rather bland cartoons - we aren't talking a Maplethorpe's Piss Christ done to Mohammed.

The craven hypocrisy is that Islam insults the Jewish religion in newspapers and children's textbooks daily. I've seen an Arab cartoon mocking the Pope.

As always, Islam's hurt feelings translate into physical threats and violence. Tolerance and an understanding of free speech in a secular democracy is beyond their comprehension. The multi-cultural moonbats will carefully instruct us again that just because Islam wants to annhilate us we should be accepting. After all, all cultures are equal.

I salute the Danes for defending free speech while the burqa wearing editors at the NYT's and WaPo hide under their desks.

Posted by: penny at February 3, 2006 11:38 PM

Perhaps western media should be showing the cartoons from the Islamic nations alongside the cartoons from Denmark. That may serve as an object lesson to these insane radical extremists that you can't have it both ways.

Man. It sure takes gaul (and a criminal mentality) to hide behind dark masks, brandish and shoot off machine guns, and threaten perfectly innocent people over something as silly and trivial as a few cartoons.

If there was any law and order in the ME and Islamic countries, they would be disarming these ignorant hotheads and locking them up. Instead, they are free to roam about creating mayhem over any incident that provides the slightest excuse for their lunatic behaviour.

Posted by: Joe Canuck at February 3, 2006 11:45 PM

I think what many Muslims are infuriated about is that infidels are creating IMAGES of MUHAMMAD. This is forbidden according to their teachings, good or bad connotations notwithstanding.

They are going to have to get used to non Muslim artistic freedom of expression, because their reaction has guaranteed the proliferation of IMAGES of MUHAMMAD.

To the non Muslim mind it is highly comic to watch their reaction, its like...surreal, like we're viewing an archaic freeze frame of religious fanaticism stuck in the dark ages. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we see fanatical suicide bombers targeting the Danish, French, and German MSM, and their embassies.

The so called moderates of the muslim world... where are they? their silence on this issue is becoming noticeable.

I have seen the "cartoons" in the muslim world drawn with images of jewish barbaric behavor, I shudder to think of what these muslims would do if this imagery was replaced with muslim caricature.

The Buddha bikini:

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- The manufacturer of the controversial "Buddha bikini" swimsuit has apologized to Buddhists who have written in to complain about the product. Ondademar have also said that they have pulled the offending outfit out from the market.

Bangkok, April 21: A multi-coloured Victoria's Secret swimsuit with an image of the Buddha on the bikini top is upsetting many deeply traditional Thais who want its US makers to take it off the shelves.

"We are offended and we will have to tell them we are offended," said Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-Ngam, who is also in charge of Buddhist affairs.

The paper, which said it was alerted to the racy poolside outfit by a Thai woman who spotted it in an American summer clothing catalogue, said the swimsuit was "too much" and "hurt the hearts of Buddhists".

We could only wish, but I don't think so. They are in the process of organizing a "DAY OF ANGER" to show us infidels that we must abide by their proscription against creating images of Muhammad, or else. This situation has yet to climax, they've worked themselves into a primeval frenzy and there is no reasoning with them. However, we must stick to our own principles of free expression. I'm thinking of creating a website dedicated to the free expression of images of Muhammad, I'd call it "IMAGES OF MUHAMMAD.COM" or "ALLAH'S BREAKDANCING MAIN HOMEYBOY.COM" or something of that nature, up-dated daily of course.

Soheib Bencheikh, Islamic scholar and former mufti of Marseille, France said today: “If Muslims want to live besides people of other faiths, other philosophies, in a space that is neither religious nor non-religious, where all are welcome, they must be prepared to be shocked from time to time.”

What this episode has revealed, yet again, is the irrationality and hatred at the heart of hard-core Islamic extremism.

I for one would support a policy where every Algerian immigrant was rounded up and sent back to the Sahara. Just to be sure you know. Oh and take a few Moroccans with you. What the hell, a few Jamaicans also. Just the ones with handguns. I'm sure they aren't hunting pheasant in Saskatchewan.

The Muslim reaction is a tribal reaction - a perspective that the West grew out of centuries ago. A tribal perspective views everyone, not as individuals, but as members of a homogeneous tribe.

1) You are either members of The Tribe (in this case, Muslim) or you are Other.
2) If you are Other, then, you must submit to the domination of the Muslim tribe; or,
3) You must be killed.

It's as simple as that. There is no ability to permit Otherness. That means, a mindset that cannot deal with self-analysis, with analysis of others, with questions, debate, dissent. It's all based on faith - and faith in Truths that are valid outside of any empirical evidence.

This also means, a culture that cannot be scientific. No inventions, no medical discoveries, no engineering discoveries, nothing. They have to purchase all goods from the West - where the exploring minds can function.

The Internet has confronted this primitive tribal mindset. And - the West cannot permit tribalism to rule the West. Therefore, we insist that we have minds; that we question, explore, dissent..and dissent can indeed lead to offence. That's science. If the Muslims reject our mindset, then - they should return our medicines, our inventions - cars, planes, oil - everything...and live in their tribal mode.

Cartoon row: Danish embassy ablaze

DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) -- Hundreds of Syrian demonstrators stormed the Danish Embassy in Damascus Saturday and set fire to the building, witnesses said.

The demonstrators were protesting offensive caricatures of Islam's Prophet Mohammed that were first published in a Danish newspaper several months ago.

Witnesses said the demonstrators set fire to the entire building, which also houses the embassies of Chile and Sweden.

Protesters have been staging sit-ins outside the Danish Embassy in downtown Damascus almost daily since the furor over the drawings broke out last week.

Saturday's protest started out peacefully but as anger escalated, protesters broke through police barriers and torched the building, the witnesses said.

[snip]

A leader of the Islamic militant Hamas group, which recently swept Palestinian parliamentary elections, told an Italian newspaper on Saturday that the cartoons were an "unforgivable insult" that should be punished by death.

"We should have killed all those who offend the Prophet and instead here we are, protesting peacefully," Mahmoud Zahar, a top leader of the militant Islamic group that won the January 25 Palestinian elections, told Italian daily Il Giornale.

"We should have killed them, we should have required just punishment for those who respect neither religion nor its holiest symbols," Zahar was quoted as saying.

The massacre of thousands of innocents on Sept 11 is the cause for celebration for these people. Kidnapping of humanitarian aid workers who then have their heads sawed off are seen as good and virtuous acts. Yet a few cartoons offend them to the point of rioting, kidnapping, and fire bombing of buildings? Good God, if Catholics acted this way anytime Jesus was portrayed our streets would literally be rivers of blood. Only one thing to say to pyschopaths like these - Grow up, move forward in time 400 years, and join the rest of us in the 21st century. You may frighten a few of us, but the rest of us are fed up with you and are laughing at you.

If Zahar is ranting against 'those who disrespect our religion' and advocating 'killing them' - how does he justify his own religion destroying the Buddhist statues in Afghanistan?

Again - this is tribalism, a primitive mindset that rejects other people as human and advocates killing all 'who are not us'. The West must not apologize for being a more advanced society and must not give in to tribalism.

Demonstrators marched from Regent's Park mosque, London, to the Danish embassy, with banners reading: "Kill the one who insults the Prophet" and "The only way this will be resolved, is if those who are responsible are turned over so they can be punished by Islamic law, so that they can be executed".

There are many farmers in the world who raise pigs, and have tons of LPM to dispose of. So, use water bombers and drop this on all mosques, buildings etc in any muslim country. Wear pigskin jackets and gloves and touch a muslim. Muslim stores etc in Ont are boycotting Danish products. So, boycott those stores. Maybe spray muslim places here and in the US with LPM. Deport them all, stop immigration from muslim countries. Stop selling products (cars, for one) to any muslim country. Impose sanctions, no medicine, aid, or anything. Let them live in the 1400 century, in their caves. Let them invent something. Bring back all contractors, oilwell workers, business operations from any muslim country. Cut off all telecommunications with them. We can make a difference, quit supporting them in any manner, way, shape or form. Refuse to ride in a taxi with them, or take a dog with you. I wish the CBC had the guts to show a protestor a cartoon from a muslim paper ridiculing Jesus or Jews, or the Budda being blown up, instead of letting them vent on the air. I wish there was no more TV coverage of them, just the damage they caused. I think that finally many in the western world are facing the truth about islam and it isn't pretty or peaceful.

Why do Muslims permit Muslims to insult Muhammad, Islam, and God every day? Why do we not see Muslim outrage when this happens?

For example: Iranian mullahs routinely call America the “Great Satan”. Now I don’t care if they call America evil, rotten, corrupt, anti-Islamic or whatever else they could dream up. But I do know NO TRUE Muslim would ever call satan great. God is great, satan is not great. The Iranian mullahs are insulting God and not a peep out of the Islamic world.

Why is that? Well perhaps the mullahs are not Muslims! And perhaps Iran is not a Muslim country.

What evidence is there? Firstly, no true Muslim would call satan great. Secondly, Muslims all over the world tell Westerners that no Muslim country would ever wage war on another Muslim country; and Muslim soldiers would not kill Muslims. Well Muslims tell us Iraq is a Muslim country (and Muslims would not lie about this since that would be insulting Islam).. Since Iraq attacked Iran, and Iraqi solders killed Iranians by the hundreds of thousands, this is conclusive evidence that Iranian mullahs are not Muslims and Iran is not a Muslim country.

But even if Iran is not a Muslim country shouldn’t Muslims object to the behaviour of the Iranian mullahs?

I would be pleased to buy Danish products when shopping at my local supermarket, to help ease the boycott, but I don't know what items Denmark exports to Canada. Does someone out there?

Interesting how the British police handle protests where violence is threatened (ie do nothing as is shown in the above pictures) and how they handle things that oppose the goverments world view. Quite a contrast:

Western goverments are as much a part of the problem as are the islamofascists.

Muslims all over the world tell Westerners that no Muslim country would ever wage war on another Muslim country; and Muslim soldiers would not kill other Muslims. Any one disagree? Does not the Qur’aan tell Muslims not to kill Muslims?

Well Muslims tell us Iraq is a Muslim country (and Muslims would not lie about this since that would be insulting Islam). Since Iraq attacked Iran, and Iraqi solders killed Iranians by the hundreds of thousands, and vice versa what does this mean?

1. Iran is not a Muslim country and Muslims should be outraged at Iranians for masquerading as Muslims, or…

2. Iraq is not a Muslim country and Muslims should be outraged at Iraqis for masquerading as Muslims, or …

3. Iraqi Muslims were deceived by Saddam Hussein a non-Muslim who lead them into a war. But if this was the case then the Muslim community should have declared jihad on Saddam and removed him from power, and not wait for the Americans to do it.

4. Iraq and Iran are both Muslim countries and Muslims should have been outraged about the Iraq- Iran War and done everything possible to stop it. Instead Muslims killed Muslims very large numbers. Muhammed, Islam, and God were insulted as Arabs, Iraqis, and Iranians, and all the rest of the worlds Muslims allowed this to happen.

and Muslims are upset about a cartoon?
