Where will Michael Moore go now that Canuckistan has turned into the Great State of Canuckington?

Where all the rich lefties go: CUBA

He can also learn to roll cigars on his whale sized thighs.

Let me guess, Reagan's famous jelly beans will be served at Prime Minister Stephen Harper's inauguration.

Drawing too long a bow?

Catherine, Is that the day you're going to announce if you declare all your income or that you're a tax cheat?

Posted by: Ron at January 26, 2006 4:25 PM

Ron,
She will on the same day that you declare you're a pedophile. Hit the road, troll.

Mister, you are 'way out of line.

Speaking of planets aligning, here's a shocker. The Iraqi WMD are in Syria.

Some how I feel Iran is getting in between the planets fouling total alignment.

I declare all my income and am happy to pay taxes. Real trolls think otherwise. Nothing worse than a hypocritical altruist.

Reagan's ally was Mrs. Thatcher, aka The Iron Lady.

The Iron Lady was not for turning.

This lady, also, is not for turning:

It's `Mrs. Harper,' thank you

PMSH's first major hurdle?

Trying to get an ethics bill past the Liberals.

Posted by: morison at January 26, 2006 7:19 PM

Well, they won't need the libs to pass an ethics bill. The NDP and the Bloc will both go for it.
And you know why they will!

First off, in a nation where the people are taxed to the hilt, and government steals the taxes to reward its friends and create huge needless bureaucracies, what middle class person wouldn't look for ways to make money while paying no taxes? In my view, such activities are perfectly understandable and in many ways admirable. (Leftists understand conscious objection. In fact, they celebrate anarchy in the face of what they perceive as systemic oppression. In Canada, the middle class exercise the same privilege by hiding income from their grasping, groping, corrupt government tax collectors.)

Second, may I say that, in my view, Ronald Reagan was the greatest president in the history of the USA. In a day dominated by amoral leftists who fancy themselves profound sophists and philosophers, Reagan was a refreshing breath of moral clarity. If Clinton had been president during Reagan's time, the USSR would likely still exist and we may very well be still living under nuclear threat. When your house is threatened, sometimes talk will not suffice to dissuade your attackers. Sometimes, to survive, force must be met with greater force. Reagan understood this. And we are all in his debt for doing so.

And he was also the second greatest actor in Bedtime for Bonzo.

The greatest being the leader of the USSR?

Let's see, we'll make grandiose claims about the vitality, viability and intentions of State X that later turn out to be untrue.

State X collapses of its own accord, this may have been due to a variety of complex internal factors or it may have been because a man says "Evil Empire" on TV.

Proof positive that there is no force in the universe more resiliant than ignorance.

Jose

Communism collapsed because socialist/communist blocs are economic vampires in constant need of new victims. Reagan was smart enough to oppose them on as many fronts as possible to slow their progress. A reduced ability to exsanguinate previously healthy national economies did them in rapidly.

Posted by: Shawn at January 27, 2006 12:39 AM

Who cares! Has Reagan become some kind of secular saint?

Posted by: j k at January 27, 2006 3:15 AM

Exsanguinate and discombobulate for a fuller description and more exact nuance. Language can be such a pleasure. eh?

"Second, may I say that, in my view, Ronald Reagan was the greatest president in the history of the USA."

What the hell is with actors that run for politics anyways??

And even worse, the saps out there that turn them into dieties.

Arnold Schwazeenaggggggger is a joke. His steroid -laden muscles do the thinking for him and a good percentage of californians are so f**ked up, that they would vote for someone like that.

Go play with a monkey if you admire the man so much!!!

Damn!!!

The thing I liked most about Reagan was that he didn't think that he somehow had become God when he was elected president.

Carter, Clinton and Bush II all fell victim to the god-complex and it has caused us no end of problems.

Reagan certainly was the best of our recent presidents. Clinton and Bush II, however, have been the two worst, at least in the last 100 years. Unfortunately, we have no one on the horizon who is any better.

All the best wishes to Mr. Harper. I don't envy the man.
