Postcard from Laurie Hawn - seems like a good idea. I hope other Conservative candidates are picking up on it.
Ed Schreyer has a face lift. Or time machine. Or something.
Thinking of voting Green? Meet your candidate! And a flashlight.
CTV has Dear Leader campaigning for the member of Wascana - Wanuskewin...

John Gormley is playing a taped interview he had with Paul Martin yesterday, who is very happy with how his campaign is progressing. When asked about his prospects in Saskatchewan, he assured us that because "Jack Layton is cozying up to Stephen Harper" that people here will race to the Liberals. "I think that people are going to vote Liberal, and I think it's very important that they do"...
I imagine he does.

The Last Word
I’m officially leaving this site and will be deleting SDA. Believe me it’s not because of the reception.
My job is done. I’ve collected the information I was looking for.
I would like to wish everyone good luck as well as health and happiness.

My job is done.
The first of many unemployed Liberals.
Posted by: ol hoss at January 18, 2006 10:19 AMThe Conservatives control the internet? (article at Nealenews.com) That's so impressive! I'm definetly going to vote Conservative, those guys are good! Did Al Gore teach them how?
Liberals viscerally hate the internet, the fact that Liberal Grandees at the CRTC have no control over what information Canadians recieve puts a bug up their collective butts. Especially after they go through all the trouble of stealing millions of dollars and giving it to their friends at 'Communications Firms' who 'massage messages' etc.
Posted by: nobody at January 18, 2006 10:21 AM630 CHED in Edmonton will be doing their final riding broadcast tomorrow night (Thursday). So far they have profiled all the Edmonton ridings.
They saved the best for last. Edmonton Centre will be the riding profiled tomorrow.
Well Kate you must be doing something right. Check out Neale News, now they want to censor the internet for not sharing their views.
Cat
How can conservatives control the internet when Al Gore invented it?
Silly rabbit, tricks are for kids.

A regulatory document designed to transfer billions of dollars from North America to countries that ignore their own polluting ways - how dry can the Liberals suck Canadian taxpayers? According to Liberals the Canadian standard of living should never improve?
Posted by: Kyoto at January 18, 2006 10:40 AMThis really pisses me off. Was this the big liberal "Nuclear bomb" on the Conservatives?.

But if we must, what party does this sound like?
"The [Nazi party] should not become a constable of public opinion, but must dominate it. It must not become a servant of the masses, but their master!"
- Adolf Hitler
"There must be no majority decisions, but only responsible persons, and the word 'council' must be restored to its original meaning. Surely every man will have advisers by his side, but the decision will be made by one man."

"How fortunate for leaders that men do not think."
- Adolf Hitler
"National Socialist Germany wants peace because of its fundamental convictions. And it wants peace also owing to the realization of the simple primitive fact that no war would be likely essentially to alter the distress in Europe... The principal effect of every war is to destroy the flower of the nation... Germany needs peace and desires peace!"

I don't know? Socialism and Fundamentals!!
"When asked about his prospects in Saskatchewan, he assured us that because "Jack Layton is cozying up to Stephen Harper" that people here will race to the Liberals."
Uh...
Paul.
The only reason that people here will race to the Liberals, is to pummel them with rotten eggs, tomatoes, and yesterdays' garbage.
But keep on truckin' Paul, if it makes you feel better.
Anyone see the Paul martin event at Strathroy this morning.relative to the dismissive treatment Martin recieved from Lloyd the other night, did anyone notice the perfuctory raising of the local candidate's arm?It was as if scripted to say,"Keep talking, raise candidates arm, never even look at him, drop arm in flopping manner etc.."-just dripping in sincerity.Hoo boy , this is getting worse...Murray
Posted by: Murray Byrne at January 18, 2006 10:45 AMBeing originally from Saskatchewan I am somewhat disturbed by CTV's report of the proximity of RG's riding to Saskatoon.
While the population of Saskatchewan has been shrinking for a number of years, I had no idea that the landmass was also shrinking.
I suppose there are some benifits. I guess Dad will be happy, if I do the math right the farm must now be half the size it was. That ought to save on input costs. Maybe we'll make some money this year.
The drive to Great Falls is going to be a hell of a lot shorter to.
Good reporting CTV.

Posted by: Syncrodox at January 18, 2006 10:45 AMBye bye Ron. It is one thing to have a contrary view, and perhaps even a valid arguement sometimes, but there is no excuse for being rude and obnoxious. In the meantime, we had sunshine in Vancouver for the first time in a month on Sunday. Then PMPM came into town and ruined everything. I listened to Hedy Fry and Svend Robinson on the radio yesterday, and had to turn it off because I could not listen to either of them. The 23rd cannot come fast enough for me because my ears are getting very tired.
Posted by: morison at January 18, 2006 10:48 AMI saw a clip with Martin saying, "I'm calling on all Canadians to stop the Conservatives." Or something like that. By the same token, I suppose he's implying that if you don't, you're not Canadian. His definition of what a Canadian is and what Canadian values are is getting really tired. I'm wondering what planet this pompous SOB lives on? Clearly and fundamentally it isn't earth.

Posted by: WL Mackenzie Redux at January 18, 2006 10:57 AMDumbest Thing said this election award
And it goes to Buzz, for this ....
Labour leader Buzz Hargrove says Conservative Leader Stephen Harper's attitude toward the provinces is essentially a separatist approach. The Conservatives want to give the Provinces more power to properly manage programs within their own jurisdictions, that's bad. So let's vote for a party that actually wants to break up the country! Stupid, stupid stupid!"If you devolve all the powers to the provinces, what do you have left? His view of the country is a separatist view," Hargrove said as he campaigned alongside Paul Martin.
He said Quebec voters should choose the Bloc Quebecois over the Conservatives.
From Nealnews
QUEBEC – Elections Canada has been asked to investigate the Conservatives after allegations the party is overseeing a group that operates partisan on-line Web logs.
Canada’s election watchdog received a complaint yesterday from a disaffected party member who claims the Tories tried to sway political opinion in cyberspace in the leadup to, and during, the election by setting up the popular “Blogging Tories” website.
The site appears to be a coalition of like-minded individuals who have met in cyberspace to share their political opinions and express their frustrations with Paul Martin’s Liberals.
But a Victoria man, Eugene Parks, and Toronto Tory dissident Carole Jamieson allege the venture may be in contravention of the Elections Act and thirdparty financing laws. They say it may have “unduly influenced the election coverage and potentially the outcome of this campaign.”
“They’re using a third-party agency to get elected,” said Parks, a former Conservative supporter who now says he is an opponent. “It’s pure hypocrisy.”
Parks said he was approached by senior Conservative MP Diane Ablonczy in December 2005 after a Tory caucus retreat in British Columbia and asked to head what he described as a preelection initiative on behalf of the party. “At the time I was somewhat willing, but my loyalty to the Conservative Party was somewhat shaky,” he said.

That's pretty funny.
Posted by: Kate at January 18, 2006 11:06 AMIs Manitoba stuck in a time-warp?
First the campaign signs for Shreyer right out of the 70s and then the CBC story about the Green candidate uses pre-Trudeau measurements "Gibson says the power is back on in her 725-square-foot house."
Posted by: TimR at January 18, 2006 11:30 AMPaulie's day off to bad start. "Buzz" made a comment that Mr. Harper is a seperatist and that Quebec to stop Mr. Harper should vote for the BQ.
Later Buzz corrected himself but Paulie must just hate getting out of bed in the morning!
Mr. Harper had a very good line: "Mr. Martin should distance himself from Buzz!"
Ron, good bye! Man collecting information from this site, what a joke. He probably will come back under a different name, watch for little trolls!
Posted by: MaryM at January 18, 2006 11:49 AMFinally, a riviting post.
I hope the days of SWTE:"Whatever that means", are over...
At least Ralph stands his ground.
I kinda wish you would stop refering to our Prime Minister as "Dear Leader" the most evil man on earth. Why don't you just call Paul Martin "Hitler" for christ sakes.
Gutting the CBC will be all that any Good Right-winger worth his salt,m will be interested in next week...
Hey, doesn't Kate write for the CBC?
Ron collecting information.
hmmmm - don't suppose he is the Scarlet Pimpernel?
Ron "collecting information" - what's up with that?
(No, I don't really want to know)
Posted by: Meg Q at January 18, 2006 1:37 PMMy campaign tip can be summed up in six letters: XYZPDQ.
Ron: "My job is done. I’ve collected the information I was looking for."
Come to think of it, I did see some bright lights in the sky last night that were moving kinda strangely...
Posted by: Reluctant Ninja at January 18, 2006 1:53 PMI have been coming here to collect information for months now. Then I take that information and cram it down the throats of any wrong minded individuals I meet. The best part is I can back up all my arguments with facts (Thanks to Kate and others).
My job is almost done.
I'll be back
Posted by: mrtisaduffer at January 18, 2006 3:09 PM"Martin is urging NDP supporters and all "progressive voters" to vote for the Liberals on Jan. 23 "
So, um, Martin's idea of a "coalition" is for everybody to vote for him?
Here is my campaign tip for Jack! Don't form a coalition with Paul Martin.
About the Green candidate Janine Gibson...
I hope no one tells her that the silicon that's in her solar panels is produced by heating high-purity silica sand with carbon electrodes to produce silicon and, gasp, CO2. (For every gram of silicon, about a liter of CO2 is produced, BTW.)
And never mind the nasty solvents, arsenic compounds, and non-solar energy that go into solar cell manufacturing.
No, I'd say it's better to keep her in the dark about that.
Posted by: red at January 18, 2006 5:37 PMI urge all of you to read the front page of the Jan 18 issue of the Calgary Sun. Seems the US police have broken a gun smuggling ring and put several members in jail. One escaped to Canada and was picked up in Calgary. Warrants for his arrest on several charges await his return to the US. He had 8 guns, one was tossed for whatever reason and traced to a stolen gun in the US. 7 guns still missing. But, immigration stepped in, and an adjudicator felt there was no reason to keep him in custody, and let him go. Whereabouts now unknown. Great Falls, Montana, police very upset. Now, does Harper have a case that the civil service is very liberal minded. This crook has an honorable discharge from the US airforce, so I imagine the adjudicator, not knowing the difference of discharged and deserter let him stay in Canada,(thinking he was giving the finger to Bush) and also warned him about the warrants for his arrest is he crossed the border. Hasn't Martin told his employees and govt departments about his plan to stop gun smuggling from the US. Of course, if he was serious, and this was stopped, what would he and the TO mayor have to talk about. Will Martin or any candidate be questioned on this, I doubt it. So, is Martin telling us the truth about his intention to get tough on crime and guns.
R*n is the saboteurs; moles???? "Why are they doing a bunch of other things?" is the giveaway. Gathering information/evidence for the Liberal Stasi. Dead giveaway. That's the scoop. >>>
But another Liberal source said Grits do believe there is a small group of Liberals inside and intent on "sabotaging" the campaign.
"Why are they in the war room? Why are they doing a bunch of other things? And I guess the implication is always there; that the Chrtienites have not rolled over and died. There are people out there refighting old battles. This is not just one person, this is not just one guy on a mission in the war room, there's got to be more people and with contacts and so on because I would suspect the platform booklet didn't emanate from the war room." hilltimes via

Please: Give me a reason to vote other than
Liberal...I mean a hard fact, not a "I will"
because given all that "I" am, there is NO
DIFFERENCE...
'Your conscience' if you have any. If not, you're a Liberal.
