Unfortunately, I can believe this. How sad is that. This is going to be a long week hoping for a change in government. What a pathetic excuse we have (had) running this country. I wish that every Canadian woke up to this on the front page of their local paper. I think a good portion of people would call in sick! We can't even protect the country's logo from scandal and abuse.

All fine and good. Just an average day in Liberal Ottawa. All the zeros in these huge numbers of mis-spent money confuses me. IF we get all this money back. IF we dissolve the gun registry. IF IF IF ... I have lost track of all the scandals and waste -- I am pretty sure that the CPC can reduce taxes, and produce a balanced budget. Even have money left to pay down the debt.

This reminds me of a certain City of Calgary CEO who spent a million taxpayer bucks(municipal taxpayer bucks)to detertime if The City of Calgary should be re-titled Calgary City. He didn't get fired either.

Wait until all the stuff that we dont know about starts to rise to the surface. This stuff is just the tip of the old burg as they say.

If the liberanos dont win enough seats to retain power watch them all quietly sneak away to some non-extradition north african country.

FREE - Preferrably Zimbabwe...

A Liberal vote is a slap in the face to Westerners, Quebeckers, parents, taxpayers, law-abiding citizens etc. etc. and today it appears Toronto is just about the only place in the country that wants to do just that. A lot of those stolen millions probably ended up lining people's pockets here and they don't want their gravy train to end in Court facing fraud charges. Liberal voters remind me of why I lock my doors at night.

Hey you want another scam? Calgary. City hall, namely Mayor Bronco just paid an outfit $2 million for a future vision of Canada. Come to find out a good friend of Brono's is a large media marketing president.

Hmmm. $2million for a one page report, now where did I hear this before.

Calgary is just as guilty as Liberal Ottawa. Ward 10 Election coverups, Newfie junkets for all but one alderman, gas wells preposal drilled in the SE and now a $2million report.

Before Edmonton laughs, remember the $400 million bailout of American Slaughterhouses while Joe Rancher almost goes broke.

cheers
tom

Sorry, I meant 'the report' was on future vision of Calgary.

Same stuff, different pile.

Posted by: tomax7 at January 17, 2006 1:22 AM

And the ref doesn't even bother to count! It's over at six seconds of the first round...

That's great, Kate.

Posted by: EBD at January 17, 2006 1:26 AM

That mayor in Calgary is as red a liberal as there is. He is just biding his time until he makes the jump to the federal camp. You don't suppose he knows some ad firms from down east do ya?

Posted by: Sid at January 17, 2006 1:39 AM

I approved the Canada wordmark- theres no doubt it. No! I didnt approve it- that's what happened- I did't see the wordmark- I just saw a transcript. Then it showed up on a blog! Kate's Blog! Yaaa..that's what happened!

In all fairness Kate, I think they added another bar of red to complete the flag. Thats gotta count for sumthin dont it?

Posted by: Barnstormer at January 17, 2006 1:54 AM

Mayor "Bronco" is a Liberal. I am not making this up. I am not allowed to.

Posted by: meinmachine at January 17, 2006 3:43 AM

I guess when the cons get in the red bar will be turned black. No need for expensive red ink.

Has anyone else heard that the tax books coming in the mail have the wrong tax rates? I heard it mentioned on CTV news very briefly and haven't heard any more. They said the one of Paul Martin's last minute tax breaks offered to deflect the election aren't reflected as Revenue Canada did not have time to update the books - they were already printed. And then they mailed them.

Posted by: ld at January 17, 2006 10:46 AM

The Liberal government paid a hundred grand a year to the Ottawa Corel Centre hockey rink to display that logo on the outside of a building for a few years.

Presumably to advertise the concept of Canada to passing commuters the the anglophone enclave of Kanata, Ontario, thus thwarting the vaunted neo-Fenian "Free Manotick" movement.

Anyhoo, no surprise that the Corel Centre was owned by Liberal supporter (and former Liberal Party of Ontario president) Rod Bryden. I wonder under what department and program did this advertising fall under? Did other hockey clubs with non-Liberal owners get a cut of this action, or what?

I also heard that... on the radio, I think. Had to reprint and remail all the booklets at a cost of $4M. Fortunately for me, all the online tax stuff is already updated.

Can't wait 'til the red Huns are thrown out of Rome....gonna celebrate by buying a few handguns and some ammo!

Name a country that denies its history and changes it to suit.

The "branding" of Canada under the Liberals has been a disaster.

I am surprised that the trademark was on file since thanks to the Liberals we all know "Canada" is a very young country, only 23 years old.

Kate how about looking into those "Heritage Minutes" that ran on tv.

Who was the advertising firm responsible for those little gems?

They used to make me so mad I would spit.

Posted by: concrete at January 17, 2006 12:52 PM

What you mean those cute little "Heritage Minutes" weren't slanted bias anti-Canadian/US historically incorrect presentations?

There goes my world...

If you got the wrong tax returns, and do your own taxes, just cross out the 16% on Sch 1, put in 15% and go from there. No big deal. Also, on personal exemptions add 500.00 and go from there. If you go to a professional, they would have the correct rates on their computerized program. Simple solution, but too difficult for Rev Canada to come up with. Rather reprint forms and spend 4 million dollars. I called the CBC after that poor man who didn't know what to do was on the National and told them how to fix it. No response. It is not illegal and you will not go to jail for making these changes. And, just another point, anyone expecting an extra 350. refund due to this is in for a big surprise. This decrease is on TAXABLE INCOME, not total income. So, if your taxable income is 8000. or less, you get nothing. It does however give a huge tax decrease to the rich. 1% on the first 35000., and 80.00 on the 500 increase in personal exemptions. After all Dingwall is entitled. Where will the 4 million come from, it wasn't in the budget.

This is old news to anyone who knows legendary graphic designer Jim Donoahue. He did the logo as a one-off for a tourist brochure. Got paid $1 for it. Yep. ONE dollar. lol. His nephew Pat mentioned this last year as he was designing Jim's website portfolio at www.donoahuedesgn.ca. Pat's on FD. Check it out. http://www.freedominion.ca/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=53047

I don't know why anyone would be surprised at any scheme to steal our money by these degenerate liars. We haven't even seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Liberal larceny. I hope Stephen goes on the biggest witchhunt in Canadian history to track down every one of these criminals and give them some time with their most ardent supporters----in the big house. It'll be a big job---cleaning up that cesspool on the Ottawa river---but it must be done.

Posted by: L. Anderson at January 17, 2006 10:44 PM

"biggest witchhunt in Canadian history"

Dunno, if he does, we might see Canada's first assassination attempt, I wouldn't put it past the Liberal Mafia.

Maybe that is why Harper didn't go for the jugular in the past with so many chances - he may have had death threats put against him or his family.

On the other hand, if he didn't do anything back then, what makes you think he'll do it now. The PC side of the merged CPC have skelatons in their closets...

cheers
tom
