In Enemy Of My Enemy Is My Friend News...

Dammit if this isn't the funniest post of the campaign so far.

(no permalinks, so you may have to scroll to January 4th entry, if coming in late ...)

Downright hilarious!

I thought his comment below that about Paulie getting tough on crime while his party is under criminal investigation was pretty sweet too!

Rest assured, he's rooting for Harper because Martin's people are real jerks and have been for a long, long time to him, to the former PM and obviously to the people of Canada.

I can never forgive the smearing nastiness of Kinsella towards Stockwell Day in 2000...yet I'm beginning to like the guy. He's proving to be Canada's Dick Morris - a political scorned lover who's so perfectly bitter, he's happy to spread the dirty laundry out for everyone to see. Now Warren, Dick also gave up his liberal ideology in the process...are you ready to go there yet???!?!?!

Andrew Coyne's space-time continuum warp-y thing is happening in here: Kate's post of January 3 is referring to a January 4 post on WK's site?!?

(okay, I know that WK has his date advanced)

Funny, but if Kinsella had his way, we'd all still be in the dark about ALL of the slime and sleaze the LIEberals have been responsible for since 1993; it's only because he isn't part of the current LIEberal "in" clique that he's miffed, same as Tequila Sheila.

Quote: Martin: Yesterday's Man.

"Mr. Martin wants to live in another era and fight people who have long retired. That's his prerogative," Harper said with a shrug."

"Shrug". Very interesting word: who was the wizard of the Shrug? Yes, him. (P. Trudeau).

Da proof is da proof is da.... and it's proven. (H/T JC, ex-pm).>>

Warren's new CD, Smells Like Mulroney, will be out in music stores Jan 27th.

Posted by: Ron at January 4, 2006 8:30 AM

Good on Warren for speaking his conscience. His blunt humor clearly communicates disappointment and disgust. He seems consistent in the message of getting better people elected to parliament (or at least ones that carry fewer knives).

I spent one night over the holidays with a room full of federal and provincial Liberals. To a one, they all want to see the Liberal Party of Canada lose, because (a) it would not be bad for the country and (b) it would be good for the Liberal Party. Noner of them expressed any fear about Harper - and, in fact, most expressed admiration for his disciplined, professional campaign.

The Liberals desperately need more than just a new leader: they need new people, new ideas, new energy. A spell in the penalty box will do them good. (Being an Irish Catholic boy, I believe in the power of penance.)

As one Liberal put it, in plain language: "It's time to flush the toilet, and get rid of all the shit."

Less than three weeks to the Big Flush.

That's right Warren the BIG FLUSH did a world of good for the Conservative Party in 1992/93 but what did we get...A kinder gentler machine gun hand.

It's time we flushed the whole system and create a government that is accountable on a day to day basis, no more of these 4 year dictatorships.

Without fundamental changes history will just repeat itself.

BTW Kate, if you want to permalink a Kinsella post, you can do so by linking to (or giving an alternate link to) CommentsPlease (http://www.commentsplease.com/collection/client/index.cfm) which is a site set up to allow comments for a few public persona bloggers who do not allow comments on their own site.

I checked at the time I wrote the post, TB - but it wasn't up yet.

Posted by: Kate at January 4, 2006 12:52 PM

Yeah, it's weird. I don't think it is an automatic feed but possibly manually re-posted because it always takes a long time for the posts to show up. Could easily be solved with the simple addition of a permalink right on his site. Warren, still lurking? ;-)

The Liberals project 8 straight 11 billion surplus budgets. That would be something to crow about if the money was spent on the shameful spectacle of homeless mentally ill who I step over every day on the corner of Burrard and West Georgia in Vancouver, reconstructing what was once the 4th greatest military in the world, improving the effectiveness of the most expensive medical system in the world, which currently ranks 28 out of 29 in effectiveness of countries with state provided medicine, or actually providing state funded daycare as opposed to talking about it for 12 years.

The Liberals are great at sucking our pockets dry but not so great at government. Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. They have had too much power for too long.

Personally I could have done without the posting by Paul Martin of Michaelle Jean as Governor General. I wrote him politely and explained that as a child I had survived a FLQ bombing of my home in Westmount. He wrote back and said that only Separatistes didn't like her. Hmmm. What a disconnect between reality and Martinthink.

That being said Stephen Harper is a two faced traitor who has wheeled and dealed together with Gilles Duceppe for months to get to where he is and who is rubbing his hands with glee as to how to dismantle Canada as we know it and feed it to his friends the Americans.

Stephen Harper is the man who could not answer the first question posed by a reporter in this campaign "Do you love Canada".

But with their smug corruption and politics of entitlement the Liberals have placed Stephen Harper and the Tories in the position to run up another 43 billion dollar deficit (remember that?), send our sons and daughters to Iraq, sell our oil and wood cheap to the Americans, and divy of the spoils of Canada with his ally Mr. Duceppe.

As a hard working and successful small business owner since the Mulroney administration I have been screwed by the Tories and the Grits.

That is why I am voting NDP
