This was awfully darned nice of him. Thanks, Dan.
(Speaking of which, so was this. You Manitobans should bookmark the Black Rod, if you haven't already.)

Congrats.
But the rest of the list is turning my stomach. Beware of the token conservative.
Posted by: Doug at January 2, 2006 6:36 PMDan's most formative political experience was seeing PIERRE TRUDEAU and his current heroes are Neil Young and BILL CLINTON. Any complement from someone like Dan should surely be taken with a lot of scepticism.
Posted by: Gord Tulk at January 2, 2006 6:42 PMGood on ya!!! I see Calgary Grit and Angry also get mention. I have only been at this blogging thing for the last few weeks, but it appears that I have stumbled upon some of the best. I guess even a blind squirrel finds a nut now and then.
As an aside, I connected to CathieinCanada from your site to see what she was ranting about today. It seems she doesn't appreciate the traffic from here as I was unable to post a comment. When I connected to her site through the blog directory I was afforded the privledge of posting. Typical of a tolerant lefty to not tolerate any views other than her own.
Anyways, keep up the good work, I'm finding this blogging experience educational and enjoyable.

Posted by: Mississauga Matt at January 2, 2006 7:50 PMDan Cook posted the following today at 1:00 P.M.:
PM Harper
Stephen Harper has laid out his five priorities for "a new Conservative government." Um, Mister Harper, isn't this a little presumptuous? I'm not a mathematician, but by my count three weeks are still left in this campaign. 'A new Conservative government: Five priorities for Canada.' Isn't this what you guys did in 2004?
Um, Dan? Would you prefer that he laid out five priorities for a new Liberal government?
Last time I checked, Harper was the Conservative leader and is trying to form a new government. It would be exceedingly weird for him to lay out a platform wherein he stated or implied that the Conservatives didn't want to govern...
Posted by: Garth Wood at January 2, 2006 8:01 PMBy the way, I was watching Global National this evening, and they showed Martin walking to some event.
In the background were protesters with signs singing the "Hands In My Pocket" song.
Priceless!
Posted by: Mississauga Matt at January 2, 2006 8:21 PMDan Cook forgot to post the rest of Harper's quote... the Conservatives have 5 priorities and the Librano$ have 56! who's going to have a hard time getting their priorities straight?
Posted by: kelly at January 2, 2006 8:42 PMCongrats, Kate. SDA is my favourite site - I can always rely on hearing some common sense and clarity when I come here.
Posted by: WildRose at January 3, 2006 12:13 AMI bookmarked it ages ago however I wish they updated it as often as you do Kate.
