Hmm... surprise, surprise, eh? Who woulda ever thunk it? Most judges appointed federally are Liberal Party donors? Buying judgeships? Who knows? But hmm...
Maybe that's just the way it works in Canada these days.
Hell, with so much and so many different kinds of corruption we've already seen, would it be a surprise?

. . . .
Or the Liberal connections.
I'm not aware of how many, if any, of the names on the list had actually run for office. It has always seemed to me, however, that in the United States judges acquire their places by getting more votes than their opponents in judicial elections, while in Canada the judgeships go to those who got fewer votes in federal or provincial elections.
Posted by: Roseberry at December 30, 2005 8:48 AMHey this is a good deal! A bench job is bought for less than 3% of a judge's yearly salary.....can't buy a job like that in the private sector.

A couple of weeks before this latest shooting a thug got arrested carrying a 9 millimetre illegal handgun fully loaded with a round in the chamber ready to shoot - the thug got bail immediately.
These judges have absolutely no respect for Canadians.
I am in total agreement regarding having elected judges. I would like to read that a maximum sentence has actually been applied, because it sure seems like some of the criminals out there deserve it.
