Is the CBC putting out subliminal messages to its readership during the election? You be the judge.

Posted by: maz2 at December 11, 2005 9:44 PMWow!! I detest Liberals. I equally detest the CBC. But holy shit! Are we getting paranoid or what? I suppose someone wants me to subliminally believe Harper is a Nazi because of that stupid cartoon? Quit wasting my time with this paranoid nonesense and I'm sure others feel the same.

He's the Canadian ambassador to the Republic of Korea, or the "Democratic" "People's" "Republic" of Korea, depending on who you ask... The Korean Central "News" Agency, or anyone else.
He seems to enjoy giving Kim Jong Il's lefthand-man Kim Yong Nam some, uhhhh, "credentials"...
Of some sort.

Just answer this......what kind of salute is it?
Posted by: eastern paul at December 12, 2005 12:37 AMEastern Paul: You're assuming it's a salute.
Posted by: Wrenkin at December 12, 2005 2:25 AMSince the topic seems to be the hailing of evil, North Korea seems to have a new talk ban in effect...

PMPMs is throwing with his left hand. dont you see the eveness in the coverage.
ja ja ja.
Posted by: cal2 at December 12, 2005 12:19 PMWe're not going to change the biases of the MSM overnight. We will have to live with them. Maybe the Liberals will self-destruct further with more "beer and popcorn" remarks. I hear Martin is going on about same sex marriage, demanding specifics from Harper how he will make it happen. These guys are worried, despite leading all polls.
Posted by: Phil at December 12, 2005 1:53 PMYeah, i noticed it before this, and no, i wouldn't read too much into it. If they had martin there instead of harper we wouldn't even notice.
Posted by: shawn at December 12, 2005 2:08 PMI tried the CBC election issues quiz.
sample question:
"Add resources for peacekeeping missions and boost salaries and living conditions for armed services personnel and their families."
If you want to want to increase salaries for soldiers you also have to vote for more peacekeeping missions.
Tried to make the most conservative choices as asked on all the issues (agree or disagree) and surprise surprise. It says that I agree with Harper 10, Layton 0 and Martin 6 times!
Then did it again trying to be as left wing as possible.
This time it says that I agree with Harper 2, Layton 12 and Martin 9 times!
Another magnificent propaganda effort by CBC. Anyone going anywhere away from extremes will get probably get Paul Martin, as their choice every time.
(Not that I consider Harper extreme or scary)
Posted by: Cal at December 12, 2005 4:05 PMI, too, noticed it instantly the first time I visited that CBC page. Folks, see, we here are predominantly conservative and think for ourselves, therefore, WE won't be fooled by the deceptive image.
I know how the leftists and non-political regular folk (who get all of their opinions from the CBC and rest of the MSM) think, therefore it's my contention that they'll subliminally/subconsciously think of Harper as a Nazi or similar baddie. It's telling that the CBC let it be posted as it was. Either it proves that all CBC workers are too damn stupid to realize that it's latently defamatory at least, or they deliberately hope for an actual subliminal effect on Canadians as they are anti-Harper and-anti CPC. I wonder if the slurring image is still there, and if so, for how much longer? I know the CBC monitors the blogs; it apparently is aware of my own (I check the IP addresses on Sitemeter regularly to see who views my site, and some IP addresses have names attached, like CBC, who visited when I made fun of their president's falling off his chair. I recently, in fact, was visited by the SCOC following a critical posting I did on Chief Justice McLachlin).
So if it's still up despite our outing of it, then I'm convinced of malice on their part. I won't make a direct accusation, but, for me, the CBC is, you know...
Posted by: The Canadian Sentinel at December 12, 2005 4:16 PMPerhaps some Librano lurker is tipping the Liberals off as to what I say about them? The coincidences are too close for comfort. Criticize someone; they for the first time check out my site. Eerie!
Posted by: The Canadian Sentinel at December 12, 2005 4:19 PMYep, a little Heil Hitler action going in that cartoon. It's not simple paranoia, it's too much of a conincidence. I mean, why have they zoomed in just on that one aspect that takes the entire cartoon out of context?
Why does it show Harper and not Martin? Why have they zoomed in on just him?
That is so shameful.
Posted by: Scot at December 12, 2005 5:12 PMThat's what I was getting at, Scot. Never would they do it to a Liberal. Only a Tory.
Reminds me of years ago when the CTV (I think it was) used to use a file photo of Preston Manning scowling rather than a fair, not-unflattering one, when doing a report on something he said or did.
I've seen this subtle MSM bigotry towards conservative leaders since I started to care and pay attention in about '94 or '95.
Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at December 12, 2005 8:03 PMTHE PICTURE IS STILL THERE!
The CBC can blow me! And buy beer and popcorn!
Anyone really surprised at what the CBC is doing?
Are you listening, CBC? I know you are.
Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at December 12, 2005 8:06 PMof course its still there. its an after hours call on a civil servant salary. the centre of the universe doesnt start till tomorrow morning.
anyway will take a day or two for the blog coordinator to make the rounds of the blogosphere and get permission from upstairs to change it.
Posted by: cal2 at December 12, 2005 10:17 PMI hope someone other then those Bell/Globe media fat cats running the Librano$$$ election scheme get Hockey Night in Canada when we demolish the CBC.
