Nice work Kate.
Posted by: Dave at November 30, 2005 7:46 PMI think I found the hidden agenda. Please someone tell the Medeia, its "REPLACE THE LIBERALS WITH A RESPONSIBLE NON CORRUPT PARTY."
Unfortunately it will stay hidden if the MSM has anything to do with it.

I certainly hope you have hidden all the working documents, especially the agendas, in that LINUX directory with the password. Posted by: Hungry Valley at November 30, 2005 9:12 PMPaul Martin: "I don't think there is any doubt, if there ever was… that he does have weapons of mass destruction. Biological weapons that they discovered were very clear evidence of not only the fact that he had them, but that he had lied and that he is continuing to lie." (Calgary Herald, March 7, 2003)
Jean Chretien: "The goal that we all have is to make sure that Saddam Hussein respects the resolutions of the UN and stops the production of armaments like biological weapons and so on that are extremely dangerous. We have proof that they were producing and are still producing them and we want to terminate this production. It is extremely dangerous for countries around the world if we do not stop Saddam Hussein with this production." (Hansard, February 9, 1998)
Hillary Clinton: "In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including Al Qaeda members... It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." (Address to US Senate, October 10, 2002)
John Kerry: "I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security." (Address to US Senate, October 9, 2002)
John Edwards: "As a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I firmly believe that the issue of Iraq is not about politics. It's about national security. We know that for at least 20 years, Saddam Hussein has obsessively sought weapons of mass destruction through every means available. We know that he has chemical and biological weapons today. He has used them in the past, and he is doing everything he can to build more. Each day he inches closer to his longtime goal of nuclear capability -- a capability that could be less than a year away." (Address to US Sentate, October 10, 2002)
Al Gore: "Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to completely deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power. ... We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." (September 23, 2002)
H. L. Menken: "The government consists of a gang of men exactly like you and me. They have, taking one with another, no special talent for the business of government; they have only a talent for getting and holding office. Their principal device to that end is to search out groups who pant and pine for something they can't get and to promise to give it to them. Nine times out of ten that promise is worth nothing. The tenth time is made good by looting A to satisfy B. In other words, government is a broker in pillage, and every election is sort of an advance auction sale of stolen goods."
Posted by: Vitruvius at November 30, 2005 9:18 PMDavid Pratt, then Defence Minister, wanted us there too. We aren't there because it was the eve of a Quebec election, and the little thug from Shawinigan was worried about his legacy.
Posted by: Iron Lady at November 30, 2005 9:20 PMMatt,
I don't know what Martin said back then (as I foggily recall, he was a back-bencher at the time and mumbled about supporting his government), but the position of the government of Canada at the time was that we would do whatever the UNSC said. So we would in fact have supported military intervention if the UN had. Martin is inventing history if he's saying that Canada took a principled stand against the war.
Posted by: surly at November 30, 2005 9:22 PM"...the position of the government of Canada at the time was that we would do whatever the UNSC said..."
Canadian *independent* foreign policy:
1) Do the polar opposite of whatever the U.S. does.
2) Do whatever the murderers and thugs of the U.N. do.
This just proves that if by the mercy of little baby Jesus the Conservatives gain a majority and they DON'T absolutely dismantle the whole Liberal/South of Bloor Media Complex (CBC, CanCon, Arts Grants, CRTC, etc.) they deserve to lose every election for the next generation. Without the media we can actually get our message across without the intellegensia filter.

But hey, they gave us something to talk about for a minute. Good for them.
Warren's got a new name for Martin--- Freighter Boy. Describes him well. Remember Don Boudria's nickname was Binder Boy. Funny how they are all called boys.

Posted by: a ziggen at November 30, 2005 10:41 PMAny bets as to how the MSM will cover today's "Black Wednesday" for the Martin Liberals?
Chretien's well written and even persuasive anti-Gomery application, Kinsella's column urging a Liberal defeat, the alleged leak out of Goodale's office, the Ignatieff debacle...
Am I the only one to suggest that November 30, 2005 will be forever circled in black on the Liberal calendar?
So what aspect of Harper's scary hidden agenda do you think the Star will expose tomorrow?
Posted by: Drained Brain at November 30, 2005 10:41 PMWell said, NorthBayTrapper. It's bad enough that we've got this juvenile knee-jerk anti-American reflex that permeates virtually every policy decision in the country, but -- the United Kingdom went to Iraq too. They are, still, our mother country, the country to whom we are tied throughout our entire existence, whom we have stood side-by-side and shoulder-to-shoulder with in some of the most terrible conflicts this world has ever seen. If they could see that the Iraq war was a war that needed to be fought, why couldn't we?
I can't imagine what Tony Blair must've thought of us for our cowardly decision. I don't think it ever got any play in the media.
(All that said, I recognize that, realistically, our military cupboard was and still is bare. There wasn't/isn't much we could send, but that didn't mean we had to poke the US & UK in the eye the way we did. Family just isn't supposed to treat family like that.)
Posted by: Ian in NS at November 30, 2005 10:41 PMI was just reading the comments to the Globe and Mail and am kind of shaking my head at the respondents who said they would vote for the Liberals because of 8 consecutive budget surpluses. What I want to know is how that affected the average Canadian taxpayer? Did we benefit? Or did only Liberals benefit? Also, Paul Martin says he loves Canada, but does his Canada include Alberta?
Posted by: judy at November 30, 2005 11:12 PMOf course you have a surplus when you make the budget! Let's just allocate a little more money to X and if Canada doesn't get mad and throw a fit over how much money we put there, then we'll declare a surplus at the end of the year.
That's like winning a fixed lottery. Hmmmm, I know the winning numbers but should I buy the ticket??
Posted by: Altruistic at November 30, 2005 11:20 PMdrained brain: easy. read the liberal blog sites. they will say harper wants to bring ken starr north.
Actually there are precedents in NS and BC. As Spector points out one of Martin's cabinet ministers Stephen Owen was involved in setting up the BC precedent.
Posted by: yyc at November 30, 2005 11:36 PMWarren Kinsella is behind the times.
Paul Martin is Cabin Boy -- rent the movie starring Chris Eliot and you'll recognize him from Letterman and his Dorito's commercials.
If not Martin, then surely Brison is Cabin Boy.
No need to thank me.

They haven't had the dead weight of Quebec political culture around their neck since 1968.
Posted by: Cal at December 1, 2005 12:43 AMAm reading Paul Cellucci's new book " Unquiet
Diplomacy" and it is a good read.
One of the points, to me, about Martin is when
the final "no" was given on the missle defense
system was given......It was sent by Pettigrew
to Condi Rice at the NATO summit in Brussels.
The weenie did not even have the goandes to
phone the president himself or even Condi.
Martin is coward, he is phony and I don't trust
him any farther than I could throw him.
This book is not a Canadian bashing book, they
loved it here and had a great time even if he
had to keep pushing, pushing our government
to act on the military which is pathetic, for
own good and respect for our country
I liked his honesty as many people did, what he
said was what he meant and only bothered the
people who are in denial of the truth.
"Paul Martin Supports Indiscriminant Homicide"
There ya go. That's for Scott Feschuk. Now when he goes googling for references to his absurd blog (that I can't believe the Liberals put their name on) he'll find Kate's site. And when Kate finds the Liberals in her logs she can let us know.
Then we'll all have a good laugh at how the liberals are wasting their time this election looking for obscure references to their blog.
By the way, I thought the Liberals weren't going to put any focus on the blogger's this year....something about, they aren't worth trying to influence? Off to a good start there....
By the way, Blackberry blog. Nice touch. Did you see Monte Solberg doing that during the vote? Cause I would hate to think that the Liberals had an idea that wasn't ripped off from somewhere else....

What a maroon.

I do particularly like Feschuk's blogs about the Omni subscribers. Jason Kenney probably should have done 30 seconds worth of research before he started talking. But then again, Omni was rather 'New Age' when I bought ONE COPY of it in the early 80's, so how the heck was Jason Kenney supposed to know that. I guess it shows Jason Kenny is more a tv viewer and less a conspiracy theorist.
As far as google is concerned, Jason Kenny UFOs Scott Feschuk Paul Martin Liberal BlackBerry blog Conservative Scandal Bahamas Liberal Blog Liberal Party Blogging Canada Election. Oh ya, "Paul Martin Supports Indiscriminant Homicide" and "Imaginary offensive references that Jason Kenney can get hysterical about."
