John Hawkins polled a number of bloggers and asked them to choose a team to run every country in the world except their own home country The results are in. Three of my choices (of four submitted) ended up in the top four rankings - see if you can guess who they were.

I voted for Judge Judy, Dr. Laura, Milton Friedman, the Pope and Thomas Sowell.
Posted by: Kathy Shaidle at October 25, 2005 10:09 AMWhat a wonderful world it would be...
Posted by: Mike H at October 25, 2005 10:18 AMSteyn as Cheif of Staff/whip-(this should be a Constitutional ammendment, enshrined in law!) Condi as President (should Shrillary run in '08) Ann Coulter as Cheif Justice and Rumsfeld remains head of Defense (for the sole fact he will continue to piss of the Halliburton tin-foil moonbats).
Judge Judy would be press secretary and fill in for Coulter when she's on the speaking tour circuit (I'd love to see Judy tear the MSM a new one with their stupid questions after the White House press briefings!.....Judy: "Hey Blitzer, don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. Bird, remove that furry little troll")
I don't know how solid Rudi is on actual policy, so he'd get the nod as head of FEMA/Homeland Security because he's seems to walk the talk. (Unlike Chretien clutching his dusk mask and gagging while touring ground zero)
This is fun, thanks Kate! Any "dream team" suggestions for Can-uh-duh?
How about Steyn as a Conservative equivelent to "Binder Boy" Boudria? The French translators would have their hands full with Mark's delicious use of the English language!
Posted by: Eskimo at October 25, 2005 10:49 AMKate, I'll bet you had Howard, Thatcher and possibly Rudy Giuliani.
No?
Thatcher is right.
Posted by: Kate at October 25, 2005 11:55 AMRice, Thatcher and Coulter in the top seven - the cheers and high-fives from the feminist movement should be starting any time now. Right?
I like Gen. Honore for press secretary, but Judge Judy is even better.
Posted by: Kathryn at October 25, 2005 12:02 PMThatcher, Hitchens, Blair... :-)
Coulter would go insane with the power and start executing Democrats left and right ... not good, not good at all for optics.
WE COULD NEVER AFFORD THE CONSERVATIVES. BUSH, MULRONEY and REAGAN vastly increased the size of government and ran huge deficits. I would rather have a good economy than fund conservaitve ideological nonsense and wars.
Posted by: Bob at October 25, 2005 12:20 PMThat's two. (Thatcher and Rice)
Posted by: Kate at October 25, 2005 12:23 PMHow about Rick Hillier for Dept of Defense or Chair of the Joint Chiefs. He seems to understand what the role of the military is!
Posted by: Kyle at October 25, 2005 12:25 PMNot a bad list - but Rush Limbaugh? Why not Howard Stern also.
Posted by: John B at October 25, 2005 12:29 PMI think Howard Stern would indeed be an asset to any government. He'd be a lot of fun while he lasted. And, on Mark Twain's theory that every sinking ship should have cargo to toss overboard, I think every government should contain a few pieces of raw meat who can be tossed to the wolves if the baying pack gets too close. Howard Stern would make an excellent light snack in such a case.
Posted by: ebt at October 25, 2005 3:10 PMMark Steyn, David Frum and Christopher Hitchens for balance. Two Canadians--we almost rule the world.

Ottawa
I'd nominate the great Canadian, Sam Pollock. He knows how to put together a winning team, but I'm a throwback, put out to pasture.Sammy for Chief Whip/Chief of Staff/Head of Human Resources/Chief Trade Envoy.
If there's one Canadian who could fleece the Chinese in a trade, it's Sammy ;-)
Posted by: howie meeker at October 25, 2005 5:22 PMAnd Hitchens is Commonwealth. No damn Yankees (or Rebels).
Mark
Ottawa
I'd nominate any four people on my block--each would do as well as anyone else anyone has mentioned.
Posted by: stubblejumper at October 25, 2005 8:07 PMMy money is on 'Maggy the Thatcher' - the only one amongst them with the balls for the job. She could step right, in even today, and show em all.
