Perfect cartoon. Couldn't do that with a cat, though the very thought suggests something with Hillary in it.
I have just finished a post on the Miers nomination myself.

it's great to have you back safe and sound and victorious!
Posted by: kelly at October 13, 2005 9:16 PMHeh, that looks like Bruce.A real winner and I am sure he will deal with cat issues fairly.
Posted by: spike at October 13, 2005 9:16 PMWow. This moonbat site is just dripping with anti-americanism and Bush derangement syndrome.
Posted by: Robert McClelland at October 13, 2005 10:49 PMSheesh Robbie boy...get it right..moonbats are your ilk...this is a right-wing nutter site. /sarc.(just in case you don't get it) What a maroon!!!
BTW...welcome back kate!
Posted by: Justthinkin at October 13, 2005 10:54 PMAnd really, think - it's Sandra Day O'Conner who is being replaced. By comparison, could a Scottie do worse?
Posted by: Kate at October 13, 2005 11:05 PMuh........Kate: Is that your pooch holding the gavel? Your whole dog-show road-trip thing-was just a cover!?! Just so's your hound could get up close and personal with Bushie- Has Disney bought the rights yet?
Posted by: dave at October 14, 2005 12:11 AMdammit Kate, it appears that dave figured it out. Friggin' conspiracy theorist.
Posted by: Candace at October 14, 2005 3:47 AMThat's so cute. Reminds me of Dogbert.
Dubya couldn't make a better pick for a judge than his scottie doggie. After all, dogs are loyal... (wonder if Belinda S is paying attention?)
Posted by: Canadian Sentinel at October 14, 2005 6:07 AMComparing someone to a doggy is a compliment in my opinion! This Mike Luckovich character must really like Miers! Even though I am not that partial to Scotties, rather small and yappy if you ask me.
Posted by: Pluto at October 14, 2005 9:09 AMA scotty would be a better coice than the statist trained seals that occupy the top bench now.
Posted by: WL Mackenzie Redux at October 14, 2005 9:24 AMIf more people valued friendship, there would be bit more honesty in the world and fewer knives in backs.
When I look at the current crew in Ottawa, only their dogs could possibly trust them and I'll bet not many do. However, they probably can count on their canine pets for a cheer up.
Posted by: Duke at October 14, 2005 11:02 AMI wonder if Paul Martin owns a dog. I suppose at one time he owned a Labrador, then got rid of it to find a breed native to Liberia and/or Bermuda. His justification being, of course, that foreign dogs have less negative effect on one's bottom line compared to a domestic Lab.

Posted by: Fred at October 14, 2005 11:40 AMYa-all might think that Kate's dog being placed on the U.S. Supreme Court is hot stuff, but consider the downsides:
1. PMthePM will not allow it, (and don't even think of getting the pooch a Knighthood-remember what it did for Conrad).
2. And whatever RELIGION the dog is, (and he IS a decent,god-fearing dog, right? A regular Sunday-go-to-meeting type, am sure?)
3. Not to mention-that unlike up here in Canukistan- fund-raising skills are less important among mega millionairs. The dog is going to be asked some hard questions before he gets sworn in.
I would think a dog on the Canadian Supreme Court would be well behaved, not to mentioned less inclined to legislate socialism from the bench. What with a powdered wig and a heavy robe to contend with, Bowser would find it difficult to hump legs and/or crotch sniff, thus freeing his brilliant mind to concentrate on the legal tasks at hand.
Posted by: Eskimo at October 14, 2005 3:55 PMI couldn't agree more Eskimo. I know many dogs of many breeds and they are reliable judges of charactor. They yap and they sniff and they know where their 'dish' is but they will turn on their feeder if the latter treats them badly. Most dogs I have met would rather fend for themselves than be chained up and 'fed'. Our present judges in Canada, could learn a lot from a dog.
Posted by: Jema54 at October 15, 2005 9:03 PMYep, pigs can learn a lot from dogs. They may both be stinky and do gross things but dogs actually have principles and care about important stuff.
