It's A Weighty Responsibility

Being a role model.....

I'm a redneck artist living in the middle of nowhere who likes talk radio and killing small animals. Can somebody please tell me when the hell I turned into Kate McMillan?

Oh Kate, that post on the other site was hilarious. If you were really famous, the Onion would probably play it. But you're not. Yet.

Your point? Weren't you always?

Don't you think being a "redneck artist living in the middle of nowhere who likes talk radio and killing small animals" is important?

Its why I read you.

When and where can I buy a "Kate" T-shirt?

Posted by: Texas Canuck at September 2, 2005 12:15 AM

Ah, I see; the one speaking wasn't Kate, but someone who suddenly saw so many parallels with Kate it was as surreal as a Dali painting.

Looks like SDA was down again. No biggie, as I had a helluva busy day anyway. Had to worry about a lost alternator belt on my car as well. Just barely made it to work entirely on battery power and no coolant circulation (block was just about ready to melt!). So I had it brought in for replacement of all drivebelts. Yet the engine refused to quit. Like I once said, it's immortal. Gotta love the anemic but eager Chryco 2.2! It's just like the never-say-die spirit of conservatism in Canada.

BTW, I, too, shoot small animals. With a Kodak Z-700.

I don't get it, color me not surprised.

Kate...you gotta stop putting in links...seems some people confuse them with golf courses and just walk on by..lol
I agree with Texas...where's the Tees??

Posted by: Justthinkin at September 2, 2005 12:40 AM

unless killing your little garden gopher was the seminal moment in your life turning you into you.
Have I got it? (Probably not)

Posted by: Paul at September 2, 2005 12:40 AM

Ohhh.....got it. I'll be gone for a month of embarrassment.

Posted by: Paul at September 2, 2005 1:41 AM

I just hope I don't grow breasts next.

Posted by: Sean at September 2, 2005 3:36 AM

Well, at least they'll be nice ones.

Posted by: Kate at September 2, 2005 11:19 AM

Well, it's ok to brag as long as you're telling the truth...

Posted by: Stephen McAllister at September 2, 2005 11:22 AM

I like that idea of a SDA shirt; I've just been thwarted in my attempt to purchase shirts from www.rightwingstuff.com, they no longer ship outside of the U.S.
I have wanted to provide some financial "thanks" for all the good work Kate does, however I've already got a custom painted helmet and haven't been able to come up with any other custom painting needs. How about it Kate? How about a collection of politically incorrect SDA apparel? They might get you even more widely read than your site!

Kate, I know my way around CafePress and can help you set up a store. I've also got a very high end scanner that will do justice to your artwork if you need something digitized.

Sounds like Sean is on board!

I suppose a "celebrate diversity" t-shirt with 20 different types of roadkill would be the obvious place to start.

Posted by: Kate at September 2, 2005 3:00 PM

With the faces of Paul Martin et al superimposed on the varmints?! That would be politically incorrect!

"With the faces of Paul Martin et al superimposed on the varmints?!"

Small Dead Politicos. Hehhh.

Highly crafty and intriguing article. It highlights the intricate relationship between the subject and its essence. It is highly informative.

You kill small animals?

A few months ago, when I first woke up and discovered the Blogosphere, there was the immediate thrill of falling into something of really great potential power.

In fact, sticking my neck out, I made several comments about focus and about means to bring the leverage of real power to all of our admittedly small group [by comparison to other well organized groups].

We could eventually put out a national paper when our group grows large enough to finance it at about $20 per member. That is a future possibility.

Another, but far more immediate way to create and build a public awareness and influence is to support a spokesperson of real integrity who could bring our priority ideas to public view through interviews on the public electronic media.

There is probably someone in our close proximity who has naturally moved into the position of spokesperson for our, and eventually, Canada’s advancement.

In fact I recently taped a radio interview involving a spokesperson for our interests who was levelheaded, could think on her feet and was an overall credit to the minority of us who blog more politically and constructively.

If we are lucky enough to find a worthy spokesperson, then we would want to send some financial support her way. If we all sent $10 now and then, there may be enough to at least cover gas costs as a beginning.

Our spokesperson would have ever increasing demands on her time as the MSM would look for written items from our area of the Blogosphere. We could then get our views across to the main stream about what we expect in improved governance of Canada for instance. Eh? 73s TG
