the National Energy Program, and all that is the legacy of Pierre Elliot "We have a great deal to learn from the Soviet Union" Trudeau....
If you haven't voted in Calgary Grit's "Greatest Prime Minister" poll, do so now - for Joe Clark.
(Don't forget Borden over Pearson, either).
Voting ends soon. No cheating.

It's all talk. It's always all talk. Albertan who say "never again" are blowing big farts which is the only gas they really control.
Ottawa will take what they want and Albertans will go to the bar, get drunk and bitch about it.
That's it ... that's all.
Ezra talks about it too. ... more talk .. it's always all talk.
Americans do things and Candians talk .... and talk ... and talk ... and talk.
All opportunities will always be lost because instead of doing something we prefer to have a meeting ... so we can talk and may eat some donuts, then talk and burp and may be blow more gas out our ass and wait for Ottawa to figure out how to tax that too ... they tax the donuts don't they?
Jesus, Duke - at 12:07 you were all for digging up the unregistered guns... and 15 minutes later, you're resigned to the fates.
If I didn't know better, I'd say you had a few tokes in the interval.
Posted by: Kate at August 30, 2005 12:52 AMKate,
I just get so angry when I read some of this stuff. I don't know what to say anymore.
I did have a couple of scotches actually. I will make an effort to be more consistant.
Maybe less scotch and see if I can get Mark to sell me a few seeds.
I am quite calmed down now. I think I will also stop commenting here ... it's not helping.
Cheers

...agent provocateur, rabble-rouser, and underminer of the moral fibre, all rolled up into one flatulent, crapulous aristo.
Posted by: Fifth Column at August 30, 2005 1:03 AMThe greatest Cdn. P.M? That's the one we DIDN't get 'cause all the women got their panties damp over P.E.T. and "charisma". I'm guessing most of them didn't even know what it was but they all wanted some...
Sigh, too bad, Bob Standfield; you were MY choice!

Have another Scotch. ;-)
It just dawned on me that PMPM is starting to resemble Erich Honnecker, the much-hated Communist boss of East Germany. Honnecker was well known as a hard-core Communist who supervised the construction of the Berlin Wall in 1961. He was widely regarded as responsible for directing the "shoot to kill" policy against East Germans attempting to flee. In 1989, his luck ran out as East German citizens of all walks of life took matters into their own hands and began demanding reforms, inspired by Gorbacehv's "glasnost" reforms in the USSR. His regime collapsed, and the remainder of his life he was "on the run".

What kind of a choice is that?
Why not just get out my drill and start putting holes in my feet, Ouch, ouch,

I wouldn't give either one of these scumwads the time of day let alone a vote!
Posted by: FREE at August 30, 2005 3:14 PMNo cheating? lol. Tell that to Calgary Grit. When PET lost to Joe Clark in the first round of voting, CG decided to have a do-over. He couldn't accept that PET lost, so he allowed more than one vote per computer until he got the results he wanted.
Sort of reminds me of the middle of May...
