Iran’s new “president,” Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, says his “election victory” marked the start of a new Islamic revolution that will soon conquer the world: President invokes new Islamic wave. (Hat tip: All Things Conservative.)
“Thanks to the blood of the martyrs, a new Islamic revolution has arisen and the Islamic revolution of 1384 [the current Iranian year] will, if God wills, cut off the roots of injustice in the world,” he said. “The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world.”

The terrorists of the Islamic Jihad have spoken. Ignore them at your peril. Their goal: Kill Western civilization. Your blood is on their agenda.
Down with Islamic Jihad.

Posted by: rob at June 30, 2005 8:35 AMWe've been reading about the impending student-led democratic revolution in Iran for years now. When is it going to start? By installing a murdering revolutionary wacko, are the fascist Mullahs admitting they are desperate to keep control? In any case, I don't believe any serious revolution could occur there without US Military help. The Mullahs are a hated minority, but they have the guns and the security apparatus.

Iranian officials on a visit to Belgium have upset their hosts by trying to ban alcohol from the lunch table and refusing to shake women's hands. Belgium's parliament speaker, Herman De Croo, decided to cancel a lunch rather than hosting a meal with no wine. Strict Islamic teaching instructs Muslims to avoid looking at alcohol, as well as to avoid drinking it. Belgian Senate president Anne-Marie Lizin later cancelled talks with the visitors over the handshake issue. "We tried to find a solution, but they held fast to their position of not wanting to shake her hand," spokesman Patrick Peremans..

"seriously" means we are deciding on a course(s) of actions to unseat this chicken.
Pluck the tail of the America eagle at your peril.
But how can we blame this on Bush?

Iran's president-elect has proclaimed an Islamic revolution of global proportions. Mahmood Ahmadinejad said his election coincided with what he termed a new Islamic revolution. "The wave of the Islamic revolution will soon reach the entire world," Ahmadinejad said. "In one night, the martyrs strode down a path of 100 years." Ahmadinejad, who did not elaborate, was speaking to the families of those killed in a 1981 attack at the headquarters of the Islamic Republic Party, Middle East Newsline reported. The Teheran mayor has served as a senior commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, responsible for the nation's missile and...

Austrian authorities have classified documents suggesting that Iran's president-elect may have played a key role in the 1989 execution-style slayings of an Iranian Kurdish leader and two associates in Vienna, a newspaper reported Saturday. Austria's Interior Ministry and the public prosecutor's office are investigating alleged evidence pointing to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's possible involvement in the attack, the daily Der Standard reported. Officials were not immediately available to comment on the report Saturday. The allegations against Ahmadinejad come as some of the Americans who were taken captive in Iran in 1979 implicate the newly elected leader in the hostage crisis. Radical Iranian...

THE murders started in the 1980s. Kazem Sami, who was the first Iranian health minister after the 1979 Islamic revolution but fell out with the ayatollahs, was one of the first of dozens of dissidents to die. He was working in a Tehran clinic in November 1988 when an assailant posing as a patient stabbed him repeatedly. The following July, three gunmen burst into a Vienna flat and opened fire on a meeting of Iranian Kurdish exiles. Among three people killed was Abdul Rahman Qassemlou, the leader of Kurdish opposition to the ayatollahs in Tehran. The murders have never been..

Col. Charles Beckwith, founder of the Delta Force, tells a story about White House planning in April 1980 for the mission to rescue our 53 hostages in Tehran. Beckwith had visited the White House Situation Room to brief President Carter.
In the meeting, according to one writer, "Charlie mentioned that his Delta shooters would 'take out' the hostage guards.
"Deputy Secretary of State Warren Christopher looked over at Charlie, eyebrows raised. 'Take them out,' Colonel?"
Beckwith replied: "Yes, Mister Deputy Secretary. We're going to double-tap 'em. Shoot 'em each in the head — twice."
Christopher protested: "Couldn't you just shoot them in the shoulder or something?"
And liberals wonder why conservatives consider them weak.
Now, before you accuse me of painting with a broad brush, let me say many Democrats do not seek a weak America. For example, Joe Lieberman does not. Zell Miller does not. Sam Nunn does not. John F. Kennedy did not. Alive today, he'd be a hawk.
However, it is eminently fair to say that virtually all those bound to a weak America also are bound to the Democratic Party.

IN HIS essay on Iran in the current issue of Vanity Fair, Christopher Hitchens describes his journey to a cemetery, south of Tehran, for victims of the Iran-Iraq war. A subway guard gave him directions to the cemetery, which is beside a memorial to Ayatollah Khomeini, fomenter of Iran's Islamic revolution. "Why the [expletive]," the guard added, "would you want to go to that bastard's grave?"
The young guard's attitude, which appears to be shared by about three-quarters of his countrymen, illustrates why the recent election was a sham...
