Kate...I wish you would stop taking us back to simpler and funnier times....lol...My God...the lefties are going to tar and feather you for this! Poor kittie. And you know the funny thing, you and the rest of us probably learned more compassion and feelings then these so-called rights activists. After all,we have lived in the real world.
Posted by: fubar at June 15, 2005 12:17 AMAnd by the way...using the term Airborne?? Tsk Tsk...Don't you know that's politically incorrect here in Canuckistan?? After all, except for a very small majority,Airborne was/is the best of the best, which is more than can be said for/about our politicos!!
Posted by: fubar at June 15, 2005 12:21 AMLooked like one of the old Activision games.
Posted by: Jay at June 15, 2005 12:25 AMCooool!! ... reminds me of the old days when we used to stick cats in burlap sacks, and hammer the end on to hub caps and go for a drive..... gave a new meaning to kitty litter.
Posted by: rob at June 15, 2005 12:33 AMROTFLMAO!
That is definitely one of the funnier things I've read in a long time! (The cat lovers page, that is).
Thanks Kate!
I prefer to kill kittens the old fashioned way ;)
Posted by: Shabbadoo at June 15, 2005 12:43 AMCat, you just reminded me of a trip to The Pas some years back where I discovered just how much I loved dogs.
In a sandwich.
While sampling the 'local' cuisine.
Posted by: Sean at June 15, 2005 1:44 AMKate, not cat. Goddamn Freudian slipz...
Posted by: Sean at June 15, 2005 1:44 AMAhem. 1274 ft. Anyone done better than that yet?
Posted by: Damian at June 15, 2005 9:53 AMI suppose you're entitled to be amused by whatever you want, but this strikes me as the sort of thing one should keep to oneself. I remember when I was about seven years old coming across a group of boys smashing what they called a "blood worm" with heavy stones. (Seems the worm posed some sort of mortal threat to life and limb.) I was disgusted by this, and could only think of the pointless brutalilty of it. I guess that not all children, even those born on the verdant plains of Saskatchewan, are born with a sense of empathy. I hope you've learned better in the interim, but this posting suggests not. I generally agree with the views expressed on this blog and am amused by its tone, but the pointless cruelty that is exhibited here has me shaking my head. I certainly would never tolerate this sort of behavior in my children, but you seem to think it just an amusing prank. Are you really so insensible to the impression made by what you say, or is this just a shtick to get in people's faces?
Posted by: C. Gracchus at June 15, 2005 12:49 PMBoy, some grumpy commenters around here. My impression of people who get worked up by things like this is that they have absolutely no faith in humanity. They think people can't understand the difference between cartoon kittens and the real thing. Weird, weird folk...
Anyways, I think this kitten game is a variation of 'Nanaca Crash' which is Japanese, very, very strange, and as a result, more satisfying.

You either:
a) are female
b) suffered numerous beatings when a child due to your "sensitive" nature
I can totally relate to Kate's "experience" I spent summers on a farm in Manitoba, and all the boys, and a few of the girls, were always doing some of the most disgusting, vile things to animals. None of us ever became a serial killer etc.. I would never do anything like that now, and shudder when I think of what I have done, but it's all just part of growing up.
And now, my little kitty torture story...
The farmhouse had drapes that opened electrically. We would wrap tape around a kitty's midsection ( sticky side out, we weren't that cruel ) and then put a curtain hook on the back of the kitty, and then wrap more tape around said kitty. Then hang the kitty from curtain rod, pgrab the curtain controller, and watch poor little kitty hanging from the curtain, shuffling back and forth along the wall. Admittedly cruel as hell, but when you are 10, this kind of stuff gets big laughs. :)

Actually, neither of your alternatives is true. So much for your logic.
Anyway, I wasn't really referring to the behavior of the children but to the frame of mind of an adult who would choose to make such a post. "Admittedly cruel as hell, but when you are 10, this kind of stuff gets big laughs." It would seem from your tone that you still think such things are funny. Just goes to show that some people never grow up.
Posted by: C. Gracchus at June 15, 2005 4:27 PMBack in the '40's in Newfoundland, our pastime was dropping a 56 pound weight from a two-storey roof on to an unsuspecting wharf rat eating a cod's head and watching that bugger get squished.
Great fun!
2,519 feet! Beat that.
Posted by: The Invisible Hand at June 16, 2005 4:43 AMDid anyone read the "this" part of Kate's post. I think you should before you get PETA in here.
