Canadians seem to get great satifaction from sneering down their noses at American politics and politicians. Well, the world can take comfort in knowing that Paris Hilton will never hold a Cabinet post in an American administration.

In Canada, the qualifications seem to be a little more lax. 39 years old, twice divorced, university drop-out after 1 year gets you top position in a multi-billion dollar Cabinet posting.

I doubt a call centre would hire her if she was not the daughter of a billionaire.

First this is no surprise they tried to bribe Inky Mark too guess he has better morals or maybe I should say he actually had morals. Reg Alcock was first off the mark to call him a liar and deny everything.

That's rich for I figured that the odds of Reg telling the truth on the issue were about as good as my odds of winning the 649 this Saturday. Note it seems Belinda got exactly what Reg says that Inky wasn't offered, ARG.

Now maybe because of Liberal arrogance the west or at least Quebec may leave Canada. Seems one or two are upset in Quebec that an inexperienced Anglo is in charge of a 5 billion dollar budget.

Can't see how we would be worse off in the west. Tell me one way MR Martin?

When MP's work on an opposing parties platform then accepts a bribe to cross the floor they are shall I say scum. I might have bought that it was Steve's leadership if she sat as a backbencher or an independent or resigned. But negotiating? Bah! If she had any integrity that would not need to be in the cabinet.

This whole thing reminds me of a B movie where some Columbian druglord tries to pay off everyone until they get their release. They bribe the voters with 8-23 billion of their own money they bribe MP's see Belinda and Inky they bribed the entire NDP party they bribed entire provinces with equalization and offshore agreements [to bad we can't all have equal rights] and they did find drugs at CSL too. Too bad it will not be over in 2 hours like most B movies.

Paul Martin wants to lift the level of debate then he stoops to bribes. Has the man no shame?

Leaving Peter to pay Paul...

"I doubt a call centre would hire her if she was not the daughter of a billionaire."

Sure they would, but I'll give you five to one odds that the call centre manager would have a tube of KY Jelly hidden somewhere in his desk.

I wonder if Canadians are EVER going to get mad enough to throw out those crooked Liberals. We are daily subjected to the most outrageously obscene manipulations as these crooks cling to power. No price is too high,(any little thing the NDP wants) no gambit too crass (offering Paris Stronach a cabinet post) if it means another day in power. I am sure they actually think they are clever. Who is NOT clever is we Canadians who keep on dishing out taxes to a group of people who think it is in fact THEIR money and they can do with it what they please. And what they please is to remain in power at all costs...not only with a bunch of crooks running the party but on our nickel. As far as Paris goes, I say good riddance. Can anybody say RECALL?

She hasn't at any time risked anything either .
There is reward in taking risks in business and politics she has never had the were with all to risk anything she remains an unaccomplished diva silverspoonfed everything.
She is defined by what she is not.
Clintons wife not, but an excellent booty call.
University grad not , dropped out before one year.
Chairman of magna after being assigned by daddy not, asked to leave by the board.
Conservative leader not and still holds a grudge.
Conservative politician not and still owes the CPC about $400,000 for overspending on her last campaign.
Trustworthy idealist doing the right thing for her moral integrity, come on!

Saw her being interviewed last night by P.Mansbridge she kept up the "I was at a crossroads" talking point and became easily flustered.
She stated at one point that Canada was at a crossroads, in her garbled justification.
Like we're all Robert Johnson meeting the devil at the crossroads in Mississippi to trade our soul for immortality.
Pathetic dopey scum.

Hahahahahah.

Hahahahahahaha. Bitter taste huh? But please, keep the sexist jealous comments to yourself. Harper is already in a deep hole.

That's what you get for allowing the Bloc to hijack federal politics. Ever since Mulroney came back with 2 seats Conservatives have been doomed.

they don't even register in BC provincial politics
- in fact only 30% of voters were for conservatives nationwide, the rest for leftist parties.

can you imagine a minority 30% localized in Alberta ruling the country, and bending to the whim of the seperatists just to survive politically?

Belinda did a great service to Canada, and granted that her ambition got her a cabinet post, it's not an enviable one. You fail to recognize that there's a hell of a lot of difficult work that comes with that post.

I'm surprised by Harper's suicidal strategy.. what a maroon.

Posted by: mockpuppet at May 18, 2005 1:48 PM

Mockpuppet just made the case for Alberta seperatism. If Alberta is so different, ideologically, from the rest of Canada, why should it stay? What's the benefit? If Alberta wants to institute a form of federal government that is acceptable to its voters, the only way it will happen is if it leaves Canada. Given this ideological divide, Alberta has a better impitus for secession than Quebec.

I agree, except you can't leave with all the money that the East coast fisheries pumped into Alberta before they got greedy, er.. I mean self sufficient lol - Now that you are in good times, it's time to cut and run. Just like a selfish coward. Your ilk does not deserve this wonderful country.

You greedy bastards.

Posted by: mockpuppet at May 18, 2005 3:28 PM

My experience has shown me that those who call hard-working, innovative people "greedy bastards" are the ones who most benefit from sponging off of these same people, and would benefit the least if the self-same hard-working, innovative people pushed for even greater independence.

Posted by: David Oatney at May 18, 2005 3:37 PM

Oatney,

perfect.

Posted by: doug at May 18, 2005 3:44 PM

Let's look at Alberta's political popularity numbers before and since the oil boom.

Now lets look at population growth over the same period.

I'm sure you'll find the results very interesting

Equating conservatives with greed and selfism is not a stretch.

Posted by: mockpuppet at May 18, 2005 3:50 PM

BTW, I pay about 40,000 a year in taxes, thanks to my "sponging" off of your tax dollars..now I'm able to give a hand up to those less fortunate or educated. Also, I'm able to prevent greedy bastards from trying to say mine mine mine.. when really it's ours ours ours

Seriously, I didn't hear the complaints when East coast fisheries propped up Alberta's economy.

Posted by: mockpuppet at May 18, 2005 3:53 PM

Thank goodness she didn't have to sleep her way to the top, just write some cheques.I wouldn't want her to have to break a sweat.

Posted by: howie meeker at May 18, 2005 4:46 PM

Yes, the fish really helped, mockpuppet... after the Librano government tried to destroy the oil industry in the West. Once somebody got smart and understood what was happening, industry took over.
Oh, and what agency did you say you worked for?

Posted by: bob at May 18, 2005 8:17 PM

I have taken it upon myself to declare Paris Bellindarella Stronach no longer welcome as a member of the female gender. She personifies what all intelligent, moral, hard-working, loving, trustworthy women despise. The joke is going to be on Belinda because she is merely a puppet Martin is toying with. She'll be kicking her lunch pail down the road in about 1 year, if not sooner. Poor little rich ditz loses another job. Pity!!!

Posted by: Old Mother at May 18, 2005 9:58 PM

Mockpuppet:

I seriously doubt your claim that you pay $40,000 in taxes. More like 40 cents. If it were true you would not be in support of these fools in government spending your hard earned cash so freely. By the way its our oil so go suck rocks.

Posted by: Bazoo at May 18, 2005 11:45 PM

Our oil.. go suck it out of the sand yourself.

You couldn't get that shit across the border without Canada's ok.

I certainly pay more than 40K in taxes. And I would gladly pay more to keep you fascist fucks out of power. If we had things his way, we'd have been up to our knees in blood in Iraq.

I work for the agency of fuck you, and thanks for your confidence.

Posted by: mockpuppet at May 19, 2005 12:37 AM

Mockpuppet:

Oops..I hit a nerve. I think you are a 27 year old University dropout or probably couldn't cut it failure. Living in your Mamma's basement sucking up internet time. You seem to appear on every blog I read. Anyone paying 40 large in taxes wouldn't have that kind of free time or the stupidity to support theives and liars.

Posted by: Bazoo at May 19, 2005 1:05 AM

Mockpuppet:

The oil goes through a pipe underground. No need to carry it accross the ALBERTA border. Also we have the tap at this end.

Posted by: Bazoo at May 19, 2005 1:13 AM

All mockpuppet does with every word he speaks is prove my point.

Let's assume that Quebec and the West separated tomorrow...the Gravy Train to fund Ontario would be gone, and the socialists like mockpuppet, they know this.

Their arguments are, in fact, based on this reality. The Ontario and Quebec Liberals and their NDP allies would have only Ontario and MAYBE part of the Maritimes as a fiefdom if Quebec and the West separated...they would be reduced to rouguedom.

A note: It is sad that I, a non-Canadian, know more about Canadian history than this poor misguided fellow, mockpuppet. For example, his comment that Conservatives can't break into BC politics is misguided, because even I know that the BC Liberal Party is not affiliated with the national party, and is, in fact, the result of a coalition of everyone to the right of the NDP to fight the NDP (mockpuppets admitted party) in British Columbia!

Posted by: David Oatney at May 19, 2005 10:45 AM

Fascist, up to our knees in blood?
Hey swampypuppet put your black belaclava back on and break some more store front windows.
Don't forget your magic marker so you can cleverly scrawl "lies" on the newspaper boxes.
Wow I never realized the NDP was so extremmist fringe !
Are Jack shit and Bob Rae as flat out wacked as you are?

Posted by: richfisher at May 19, 2005 11:13 AM

Someone enlighten me please. When did the east coast fisheries support Alberta? I guess I am in the dark on that one.

Posted by: eliza at May 19, 2005 11:19 AM

Ooh, that hit home, eh?
Friends, let's just call him realpuppet because it's obvious he's under the influence of Librano-itis.
Let it also be said that the U.S. wants no part of what is now Canada, unless a province or provinces declare themselves independent and then seek status within the U.S. The U.S. will not initiate a takeover (unless, of course, the Ottawa government launches an actual attack, unlike the back-stabbing that the Power Corp. government is undertaking with its dealings with Communist China and Oil-For-Food).

Posted by: bob at May 19, 2005 3:05 PM

Mockpuppet:

Alberta has paid 90 billion more in transfer payments over the last 25 years than it has received by Ottawa.

Clearly Alberta has been more supportive of Confederation than most other provinces.

Besides isn't that the way it's supposed to work? The Gov't screws Alberta over and the east coast helps. Then the Gov't screws the east coast over and we help. Looks like the only ones doing the screwing is the gov't, man and they don't even kiss us before they fuck us.
