Program Advisory: The following graphic may be disturbing to the naive, career Liberals and the Canadian left. For those who may find this material offensive, it is advised that you put fingers in ears and repeat out loud: "Halliburton...I can't hear you ..Halliburton ... I can't hear you" until the segment is finished. Thankyou. |

Pretty impressive, obviously a lot of work went into it. Especially compared to the oh-so-complicated graph down here:
Bush/Chaney=Haliburton

Posted by: Looney Canuck at March 14, 2005 07:15 PMHe's six charts over.
Posted by: Jay at March 14, 2005 07:36 PMWhy am I not surprised to see Mulroney and Mazankowsky right in the middle of this?
Of course, all the right wing yapping south of the border has failed to even establish that any money is missing.
So what is the real deal? Is Bill O'Rielly looking for another blow job?
Posted by: Joe Green at March 15, 2005 07:50 AMThis shows that instead of a democracy we have an oligarchy - and an extremely corrupt one.
Now - is this enough to bring down the Liberal gov't - which is now effectively the political arm of this Power Grid?
The Gomery Inquiry is examining some of the operations of this group; namely, those which were geared to ensure that Chretien's Liberals would be re-elected; i.e., the Adscam money laundering in Quebec. The Liberal Party is attempting to distance itself from the Adscam actions by its various trivial lawsuits against various members and companies.
But- overthrowing an oligarchy, made up of the key financial interests in a country, controlling the major media systems AND the dominant political party - wow, that's quite an agenda.
The Swift Boat Veterans did something rather similar. They relied on publications, by alternative presses and the internet..of the truth. Maybe...just maybe....

'fraid not, ET, it could be established the Lieberals took all of the Adscam funds and paid for Saddam's rape rooms and torture chambers (actually, not that far from the truth, if the chart is to be believed) and all it will take is another Grope and Flail "A-word" hack job in the midst of the next federal election to ensure the Lieberals retain 100+ Ontario seats.
And anyways, as you clearly understand from your Shotgun post, the judges are in charge up here anyway. Turf the Lieberals tomorrow and it will still be 50+ years to unstack the judiciary.
Your hope lies out west, ET - you'd be welcome behind the firewall - perhaps you could room with Kate.
Posted by: firewalls 'r us at March 15, 2005 11:24 AMA couple of questions come to mind:
1. Why aren't the NDP conspiracy theorists (like Joe Green) all over this? It doesn't just have Liberals in it, it's got former Conservatives too! If you really want an arguement against the evils of large corporations and Globalisation, it would make sense to start with "Power Corp" and "Total".
2. More of a comment really. The involvement of Lieberals AND leaders of the Progressive Conservative Party shows exactly why I joined the Reform Party back in the early '90's - there was no difference between PC's and Lib's.
3. As a populist conservative type I dislike seeing these large corporate, backroom old-boys networks just as much as the NDP anti-Globalists do. It absolutely sickens me.
4. Don't forget that Izzy Asper was head of the Manitoba Liberal party for a while. The Aspers control Southam (now Global) media. Hmmm, maybe Kevin Steele should add that in to the equation - Power Corp, Total, Global. Mark Steyn did an excellent piece about how cheesy those corporate names would look in a James Bond flick.
The answer to question #1 is just too obvious for somebody like Green to answer: if you squint really hard, you can see that all the shapes and arrows spell "HALLIBURTON".
(of course now that he's been mentioned here, we can all just await the rambling, irrelevent, factually incorrect, basically insane diatribe)
