I've mentioned American novelist and conservative opinion columnist, Mark Helprin, on multiple occasions. John Anderson's article in the LA Times is a good read. Recieved via email, I've made it available here.
A new novel by Helprin - "Freddy and Fredericka" - is due out in July.

Posted by: rob at March 13, 2005 1:34 PMHis prose is very beautiful,but Helprin has been a crank for over a decade, and peddles non stop doom and gloom.He then passes off his prescriptive mistakes as signs of a more nuanced,sophisticated thinker.Like the entire bunch of nutters that write for The American Conservative.There isn't a whole of difference between Helprin and Eric Margolis.
