The leading contender for the 2008 Democratic nomination collapsed today just before she was to give an address on health care.

That'll teach her to accept dinner invitations from Massachusetts senators.

This was the topic on Buffalo NY talk radio this afternoon. Most of the conversation centered around why a good conservative (Catholic) school like Canisius College would have invited her to speak there anyway.
Posted by: Bill at January 31, 2005 7:57 PMShe's their Senator, that's why. It's all part of her Remake/Remodel Tour 2005, where she snows the Catholics on abortion uses focus group tested phrases and inoffesive homilies. She gets some decent press, doesn't get any hard questions, and best of all, doesn't have to author any bills that demonstrate she's actually go to make the move to the middle.
Posted by: howie meeker at January 31, 2005 10:36 PMBill, don't you think the best part was the interview with the unctious Democrat Apparatchik, Uria Heap character who made the whole tummy-ache episode sound like St.Hillary had just given birth to triplets while performing open heart surgery on herself without medical assistance? it was hysterical. Does this mean you listen to Rush on Radio Free Canada ?
Posted by: Thom L at January 31, 2005 10:47 PMThom, yes I listen to Rush whenever I can. I only caught about a half hour of the Sandy Beach show (which follows Rush) while driving home from work this afternoon.
I didn't hear the Hillary sympathiser, but I was impressed by the lady who called in and absolutley tore a strip off Hillary and the congressman who sponsored her. She's a regular and she's good.
And Howie, I agree that Hillary is trying to make it look like she is moving to the center. She's not fooling too many people in Buffalo, especially the lady mentioned above.
