I just found out that I'll be a guest for about 20 minutes on The World Tonight, this evening, on CHQR Calgary talk radio.
The interview is scheduled for 7:30 pm Alberta time, after they warm up my audience with an appearance by some guy named Glenn Reynolds. There's a live feed on the website. The topic is blogging, of course.
Audio copies of both interviews are available here, courtesy of David Janes.

I'll be listening. It's great to see the best Canadian blog get some good exposure.
Posted by: jhuck at December 23, 2004 2:45 PMWell, there's no guarantee she'll mention ColbyCosh.com, but it's certainly a good idea...
Posted by: Colby Cosh at December 23, 2004 5:14 PMColby Who? Wow, I didn't know the razor shilling 'survivor' has a blog. Well, as long as he writes about things he knows and avoids potential embarrassments, like predicting football scores.
Posted by: jhuck at December 23, 2004 6:19 PMYou sounded great. Thanks for the heads up. Who'd a thought that I'd spend my evening listening to Canadian talk radio?
Posted by: Gilly at December 23, 2004 9:41 PMYou were good! The connection was horrible though.
Posted by: Japnaam Singh at December 23, 2004 9:58 PMGood interview - first time here - may be back
Posted by: Mudge at December 23, 2004 9:59 PMKate,
That was a great interview. As A long time reader I love seeing you get the respect you deserve.

Sounded great Kate! This should really drive more traffic your way. So you killed off that "small dead animal" on your front page? Did you use a .22? Any woman who can use a gun is purty darn sexy in my books!
Posted by: King Richard at December 23, 2004 10:05 PMFirst timer... you sounded Great!... reading some of your articles, it's good to see AB is not alone in our attitude about the Feds. Be visiting regularly.
Posted by: Rob at December 23, 2004 10:09 PMGood and informative interview.
Rob Breakenridge's show is an online radio blog and he is great at it. By showcasing 'small dead animals' he demonstrates insight and discernment.
Yeah, that wasn't too bad, actually. Having well thought out questions to answer was an asset.
And yes, I shot the gopher, with an unregistered vintage .22 rifle.
Posted by: Kate at December 23, 2004 10:36 PMI have a TV.
Posted by: Jeff G at December 23, 2004 10:52 PMWell done, Kate. I may have to start listening to talk radio while reading SDA.
In the late 1970s and early 1980s, I often listened to Larry King, Roy Masters and other hosts on a Sacramento station (KFBK 1510) which gave astonishingly good reception in southern Alberta. If the CHQR interview is any indication, talk radio has improved considerably since then.
Posted by: Charles MacDonald at December 23, 2004 11:17 PMVery nice job & glad the SDA mystery is solved. One question - was Mr. Gopher dispatched in pursuit of the Delisle portion of the annual Saskatchewan Gopher Kill competition?
Posted by: firewalls 'r us at December 24, 2004 12:31 PM...Which has pictures AND audio, my TV.
Posted by: Jeff G at December 24, 2004 5:01 PMBut does it have those sleek customizable dual chrome antennaes on it, like mine does?
Posted by: Kate at December 24, 2004 6:29 PMNo. But it has pictures.
Nevertheless, I broke down and listened to the interview (courtesy of David Janes and BlogMatrix), and I thought you sounded great.
You know, for a Canadian.
Posted by: Jeff G at December 24, 2004 7:23 PM Kate I have to add my congratulations on your radio interview, us old vets have been trying to get the "truth" out for years, but no help with the restictions set down on local/radio talk shows, and forget the MSM they would not dream of having an " open line " show with a moderator of the Rush Limbaugh ilk, with the same openess
to receive callers "nationally", the polititions know that radio talk shows are the little peoples "atomic" bomb, so they treat it accordingly, (how dare the minions even "think" about having their views known, let alone to "speak out! those troublesome good-for-nothings"?) It might be a little late getting here, however maybe just in time have the bloggers arrived (as an act of God ? ) to save Canada, I pray so, and I think so.
Thank you Kate, I nominate you as Kanada's next Governor General, the first job, cleaning out the left wing beaurocrats that have devoured our MSM"s Remember the "pen" being " mightier than the sword ?", the left wing media, in my opinion, have learned to use their "pens" very much to "their" advantage, these media beaurocrats have to be put out to pasture, or the MSM will go the way of the 8 track tapes. The bloggers have all the real truth, and it boggles the minds of "them" trying to figure out a way to shut it down, along with talk shows, however there is no way we will be shut up, and they know it, so the silent revolution is on it's way, and not a day too soon.
Cheers to all and a Happy New year, with the people of this country that stand for what is right, will do just that.

Posted by: canamsteve at December 25, 2004 12:45 AMKate,
Is there a transcript of your appearance available anywhere online?...if so, please point it out! And as for the groundhog, I hope the fat guy in the red suit brings you a properly equipped Ruger 10-22 - my weapon of choice when hunting varmints here in Ohio.
Merry Christmas!

Posted by: billygoat at December 25, 2004 7:32 AMThere's no transcript I'm aware of, just the audio file at the link I put up. I listened to myself last night. I think I did a little better as the interview went on, though my voice isn't quite that high in real life .... I don't think.
