Blogroll Updates

I have created a new category on the blogroll, as a warning to others. (Scroll down... way down...)

udate on the McCallum home vandalization - Regina City police spokesperson Elizabeth Popowich tells CKOM's John Gormley this morning that "arrests are imminent". Let's hope so.

Looks good on him, Kate. City of Champions indeed. Do ya think Sean Fleming will get a tryout as an NFL quarterback this year? heh, heh, heh.

Wow. Just...wow. I bow down to your superior bastardry, Kate.

Posted by: Sean at November 15, 2004 12:16 PM

You have no idea.

Posted by: Kate at November 15, 2004 12:42 PM

Wait... this is today's theme for Saskatchewan's sharpest wits? Making fun of someone else's placekicker? Are you really sure that's advisable territory for you to enter right now?

Posted by: Colby Cosh at November 15, 2004 1:16 PM

I believe Cosh it was you who put a picture on your blog to remind Saskatchewan fans of McCallums miss. That, after your own place kicker decided to try his hand at quarterbacking and make a mess of it. You entered the territory first.

Actually, there's this guy called the "head coach" who decides when to run trick plays. He's sort of like the boss of a football team. Watch a few games, you'll figure it all out!

We must all learn to lose gracefully. This bitterness is not attractive, sheepf^h^h^h^h^h Mr. Cosh.

Posted by: Kate at November 16, 2004 12:17 AM

Normally any accusation of bitterness against me will be entirely correct on general principle, but in all sincerity, I wouldn't have traded the pleasure of Sunday's game for an Eskimo win the week before. You can't win the Grey Cup every year, but watching Saskatchewan lose like that was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Given that Edmonton probably wasn't going to beat B.C., I figure the goddess Nemesis gave me a better-than-even break.

See, that's what you get, Colby, when you blogroll Riders fans instead of die-hard Esk fans, like me.

Posted by: tz at November 16, 2004 3:14 AM

Just think of the fund-raising possibilities for the next Greenie-bailout fest: $10 for a chance to make a 17 yard fieldgoal and become the new Riders kicker!

"but watching Saskatchewan lose like that was a once-in-a-lifetime thing"

That definitely qualifies as superior bastardry, too. I'm feeling outclassed now. Perhaps I should just stick to taking pictures...

(sigh)

But, you see Sean, we have watched Saskatchewan lose that lots of times in a lifetime, so the joke is on Cosh.

Posted by: Kate at November 16, 2004 3:44 PM

Come now. No one now living has seen any CFL team lose on a 17-yard chip shot. You do realize we're talking about a kick that's roughly two strides longer than a point-after? And that it took place indoors? A post-menopausal female cancer patient could have made it blindfolded. In fact, that pretty much describes Duncan O'Mahony if you add "whisky-sodden" and "Irish", and he didn't have any trouble. For much of my life Saskatchewan had the best kicker in the league, fella named Ridgway. Fortunately the jolly greens were normally not within a field goal of anybody back then.
