"[blahblahblahblah, blahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblahblah, blahblah, blahblahblahblah] Overconfidence is inadvisable, particularly in a public forum like this, but just between us, Saskatchewan already lost this game"

Ah, dammit. There is no misery like the misery that comes from being mocked by Saskatchewan.
Posted by: Sean at November 8, 2004 9:26 AMNote in particular this comment in Cash's post:
"Anyway, it's not like any Rider fans have weblogs, literacy being a prerequisite."
If no Rider fans have weblogs, then what am I now reading?
This has already been addressed with Mr.Cosh privately.
Heh.
Posted by: Kate at November 8, 2004 12:20 PMOnly in Saskatchewan would "Hey! There's actually one literate person in the province, bub!" be considered a devastating rejoinder. Still, I can't begrudge you all your fun!
Posted by: Colby Cosh at November 8, 2004 1:12 PMIn consideration of the broader literacy issues, I did consider posting in pictograms, as an inclusive gesture to northern Albertan "Cosh" readers.
Posted by: Kate at November 8, 2004 1:42 PMI'm still in shock. The Esks losing to the Riders is on par with Carl Lewis losing a foot race to a pet rock.
Posted by: Sean at November 8, 2004 1:50 PMI'm going to breathe deeply and count to twenty before I delink you, Sean.
Posted by: Kate at November 8, 2004 3:02 PMClearly, the only reason the Greenies prevailed is that they had greater support among the bible-thumping, war-mongering gay-hating rednecks.
(Isn't that why anybody wins these days?)
Posted by: firewalls 'r us at November 8, 2004 4:22 PMIt's all going to be for not. The lions are going to win, in the last minute of the game of course. Go Lions Go!
Posted by: Bradley at November 8, 2004 6:10 PMCongrats on the victory, and on the fine "rubbing it in" towards Cosh.
I will mimic what Bradley said:
Too bad it will all go for naught, as the Lions will charge right over your slime green machine. M'heh!
I haven't felt this good since '89, and as much as I admire Cosh, his reaction has made this even better. There's nothing -- NOTHING -- like winning a playoff game in Edmonton when you've got that Rider Pride.
Posted by: Huck at November 8, 2004 11:02 PMYou take the pride--we'll keep the 12 Grey Cups.
Posted by: Colby Cosh at November 9, 2004 12:30 AMSure thing. We'll take the pride --- and this Grey Cup.
Posted by: Huck at November 9, 2004 10:16 AMEr... they don't give you one for winning the semi-final, actually. I realize it's easy for a Rider fan to forget how the playoffs work.
Posted by: Colby Cosh at November 9, 2004 10:36 AMFor someone who has a closed comments section, you sure do have a lot to say.
Posted by: Kate at November 9, 2004 11:59 AMI haven't seen Colby this bitter in a looooooong time!
Nice work, Huck.
