Valkenburg, Netherlands, Sept 3 (Reuters) - The European Union asked Russia to explain the bloody end to the siege of a school by Chechen gunmen on Friday with huge loss of life. In a statement in the name of the presidency of the 25-nation EU, Dutch Foreign Minister Bernard Bot said all countries should work together to prevent such tragedies. "But we also would like to know from the Russian authorities how this tragedy could have happened," he added.

One presumes Bot can draw on Holland's responsibility for creating the conditions that led to the Nazi occupation to offer the Russians wise counsel.

Absolutely right Kate! The only way these chechen scum bags are going to learn is for the russians to kill them all, even if it means killing a couple hundred hostages. no negotiations means no negotiations. Good on the russians. I couldn't respect a country who negotiates. It takes huge balls to stick with that stance even when kids have to die. the bastard John kerry would never have gonads like that.

appropos of nothing except your blog title, I wanted to let you know I saw alligator road kill yesterday on my way home from Miami. Poor little reptile was at the intersection of Hwy 27 and I-75 at the eastern edge of the Everglades. It was pretty chewed up by all the semi traffic 27 carries, but there was no mistaking that hide.
Poor little reptile, I don't know how you could think small dead animals are funny. They are not funny, and they smell bad.

Who says Kate thinks small dead animals are funny? I mean, maybe she does. But how the heck do you know you presumptuous so-and-so.

Besides. I have seen armadillo roadkill and that trumps your alligator hide. And by the way, Russian children were shot in the back as they fled their murderers. Maybe that is more important that your moronic Hwy experience.
