Posted by: Eric MacLeod at July 23, 2004 4:31 PMKate,
You and Frankie were both blessed to have had each other in your lives.
Frankie was a great dog, and so much more.
Yes, I'm sorry for you, it is very sad, a terrible loss.
Posted by: MeTooThen at July 23, 2004 4:37 PMIt's never easy Kate... sorry to hear about your loss :(
Posted by: Janine at July 23, 2004 7:01 PM(I wrote this on the other post, and thought it best to copy it here as well)
Such kind thoughts. Thankyou. Reading them again today, now that she's gone, makes them all the more meaningful.
After I wrote this last month, she began to slow down even more, and lost her stiff legged bounce. When she couldn't keep her dinner down on Wednesday, I decided it was time, and the vet came over to the house this morning. I buried her under a large honeysuckle tree outside the door.
Knowing Frankie, she'll probably kill it.

You did the right thing - some people can't bring themselves to end an animal's pain for the sake of their own feeling which is actually quite cruel.
