  1. Since when has the gov’t ever been concerned about your health? They want everyone on the electrical grid so they can do this.

Ooof! Gonna give you a 10 for that face plant.

So what does our esteemed rabbit toothed “Doctor” insist you use as an alternative? A cheap ass 8 inch induction cooktop.
    Pass.

      1. Didn’t know that about deleting the question mark. Great info. Thanks DB!

      2. DB. Good to know. I quickly selected the option to only allow necessary cookies but either my selection didn’t register when I touched my screen or they ignored my request. I have considered getting an Economist subscription but their climate alarmist bias is a bit of a turn off.

        Thanks!

    1. If you focus, you can just barely hear the sound of them losing the debate. There’s a reason the ‘transitioners’ are getting more frantic and less eloquent in making their points and its a slow-growing panic over the realization that the tide is turning.

  2. We need a new Bedlam.
Coats Island in Hudson Bay seems perfect.
    Check it out..
“Warming faster than anywhere else”, always where no one lives to test the nonsense.

This way the Cult Members will absorb very few resources (those of the productive citizenry) being kept safe and separate from the society they desire to destroy.

The Cult of Calamitous Climate has always been an intelligence test.
Testing to see if the ability to learn from history and science can be eliminated.

    Made Stupid.
Bonheoffer was right.Dietrich Bonhoeffer that is.
And the proof is in the success of the Doom Cult.

    “We feels therefore we knows”.
“We are all gonna die”Women and Children hardest hit.

Which of course makes me wonder about “Artificial Intelligence”..
Seeing how willfully stupid we humans are, what exactly is “Intelligence”,is there any on Earth?
And what would an artificial version of said “Intelligence” look like?

As for the raving members of Gang Green..we are footing the bill for both their current existence and for the destruction they wreak.
We must banish them, from our midst..

They believe in a catastrophically warming planet.
And preach that the Arctic is “Warming like no other place on Earth”.
Therefore Coats Island is the perfect site for their new enclave..
    Trudeauville Canada?
Where they can do the Jonestown Jive to their hearts content.
Hopefully with an admiring audience of hungry polar bears.

  3. And even if the study, the tests, the measurements, were legit. Even if they didn’t find the filthiest 9 apartments built in the early 1900’s as their sample. Even if they tested for multiple different meals/foodstuffs being cooked … even if …

Stand back from 20,000 ft and ask some basic questions. How long have we been cooking with gas? And have we observed a giant spike in illness and death in gas cooktop households? (No). So what has precipitated this newfound crisis? Ah yes … global warming. But that won’t SELL the public on removing gas stoves. But asthma-choked little black children will. Your racist natural gas cooking is choking natty headed little boys and girls (little fatties who sit on their asses eating ding dongs and playing video games all day). Ohhhhhh mommmmaaaa.

Part of our contemporary dysfunction is that we have testing and monitoring equipment that can test to the micro-micron degree. So we can detect “micro-plastics” in newborns brain tissue. Hmmmm … really? And all those infants are doomed? Well … the silent message is … “they might be” … unless we ban all plastics. It’s patently absurd.

PS … did the study report on the make, model, age, and condition of every gas cooktop it fired up? Did they detect any gas leaks anywhere else in the apartments? Did they test a control group of electric and induction cooktops, cooking the exact same foodstuffs? You know the answer … it’s JUNK science … despite using the most sophisticated measuring devices ever devised by mankind. JUNK … because it’s completely ignored the scientific method. But junk science is just as tasty as junk food to a population who know nothing of science.

      1. … ignored food volatiles, effects of cooking oils etc… assumed no ventilation… but otherwise a great study.

      2. Ventilation is required by building code. How did they explain that away? So … they tested an illegal situation? And THAT passes for “science”

        1. This is what is called designing a paper to get a desired result. Somebody wants to ban gas appliances. Doesn’t matter why, they just do.

They call their bros at Stanford or whatever, and ask them to tart up a quick study showing gas stoves are deadly. The bros do them a solid, and we read the results in the Lancet or whatever. Because the journal editorial board is bros with the Stanford or whatever guys.

And then we end up with legislation based on a study of a sealed box with a stove in the middle. More bros at work.

Meanwhile, nobody paid any attention to air quality studies done on commercial kitchens. Because those don’t show the desired result. But if some science dork like myself might mention we don’t notice much adverse air quality issues in commercial kitchens, then we hear “but that’s commercial its totally different! and but Stanford study! and but shut up.”

This propaganda model is what got us gun bans, windmills, and junkies living on the subway platforms full time.

          Rinse, repeat.

          1. but, but, but … commercial kitchens have massive negative pressures because of the powerful hoods pulling air out of the space. Poor black folk are lucky if they even have a ventless recirc. fan over their cooktops. And that’s the reason poor black folk do poorly in school and face a life of poverty … because they’re being choked by the white man’s gas cooktops. It’s a conspiracy to keep-down the black man … like the CIA designing and distributing crack cocaine. I read all about it in a “study” by Louis Farrakhan. Those junkies pushen Asian women off the subway platforms … all came from homes with nat. gas cooktops. Ohhhhhhhhh mommmaaaaaaaaa.

          2. Unpossible. I have been repeatedly informed – why, even by certain regular posters here – that peer-reviewed, published studies are the sine qua non of quality, no matter how corrupt the data. Who are you going to believe, studies or your own lying eyes?

  4. “To limit their own exposure, the team members camped out on a balcony, with sweeping views of Upper Manhattan, holding their breath and running in and out to check on levels.” Lol…but then they’re exposed to NY. I wonder if they bothered testing the air outside.

What isn’t reported in the article: “Any of these people who think they have issues from the stoves are free to spend the money right now to change over to electric, and always have the choice when building new of electric.”

It’s a CHOICE to cook with gas. But then again, we know it’s really not about gas or any real or perceived pollutants.

  5. I’d warrant that a daily 1.5 hr commute in Any City over 2 million in all of North America is far far more dangerous to your health than using a gas stove for ~20 minutes.

    More Climatard Bullshit.

    1. Yes … and the EPA is assuring us that all diesel trucks will be banned soon … and replaced by electric trucks.

If the electric trucks cannot deliver everything you ordered … then you didn’t really need it … said an EPA spokesthey

      1. Damn Kenji.

Here i am looking for an 06/07 GMC @500HD Duramax (LBZ motor)…!!
(my previous one was stolen from Calgary Airport this past January)

The day that a ‘lectric truck can pull a 10,000 lb RV for 500 miles…i may have a look, ‘cept that will NEVER ever happen. Time to miniaturize a Seawolf Nuclear reactor even smaller to fit in a truck- then we can talk mileage … lol

      2. “Yes … and the EPA is assuring us that all diesel trucks will be banned soon … and replaced by electric trucks.”

Totally oblivious to reality, those people.

Some people claim to have developed a semi tractor with a 300 mile range. Elon Musk claims to have one with a 500 mile range. Doesn’t matter, since your average trucker can do 600 or 650 miles in a day under the right conditions. Then there’s the overnight charging versus a 15 minute refueling at a commercial gas station. But the worst part, unnoticed by most, is that those electric trucks have two 8000 pound batteries in them…that’s 8 tons of weight, most of which will have to be countered by a reduction in cargo weight if I understand the rules correctly.

Not nearly ready as a viable alternative.

        1. Absolutely right. Our neighbor was formerly a long haul trucker. They used finagle ways to eliminate the weight of ice when hauling produce. I gather weight is critical to profitability as well as legality.

  6. I clicked on the first link and then made the mistake of reading some of the comments / replies on her timeline. There is way more mentally ill people on this planet than anyone can imagine.

    1. Yup, I made the same mistake.
“Any suggestions for folks whose remote cabins can’t easily switch out gas stoves?”
      Ugh!

    2. I did the same thing … and wondered if she owns stock in the induction cooktop industry

    3. Relax, Greg61. The answer to all your problems is to buy a Duxtop 9600LS induction cooktop.

Didn’t you notice that in the comment thread there? No matter what was asked or observed, the answer was always “buy a Duxtop 9600LS induction cooktop.” Dr. Leah Stokes is an expert, and she is quoted in the NYTimes. It must be true.

Buy a Duxtop 9600LS induction cooktop. and you’ll have more friends, get a better job, improve your love life, and get better looking every day! And that little patch of thinning hair? Gone in just a few days!

Buy a Duxtop 9600LS induction cooktop.

  7. And how do you propose we get “new” people, they lost the last election and made new rules with the NDP, to retain power, please enlighten me?

  8. I have all I can take that is why the word stupid covers it all, and I mean ALL.

    1. But … the STUPID are in-charge. We intelligent people somehow can’t believe their idiocy will be taken seriously … but it is … and then some. Western societal decay has reached critical mass … we’re doomed. Have a nice Friday.

  9. Oh, Toxic Leah Stokes. She blocked me.

Yes, folks like her need to be tossed into prison.

An outside prison, 200km North of Yellowknife. No buildings.

  10. Ban all the leftists. It’s the ultimate paradox when freedom-loving conservatives ponder what other options exist than those which are opposite to our fundamental values. But as we watch an ideology that we know is going to lead to disaster taking over our society, what are the best choices? Is it better to sit back, say “we must allow people to choose” or is it better to step in and take over to prevent that disaster? (the Pinochet approach). I don’t have the answers, or the power to intervene, nor do I see any obvious signs of a Pinochet style response. Trump was no Pinochet, he seemed to think he could tinker with the system, and convince people he had a better way. I think we all know that is never going to happen and leftists just don’t have any ability to diagnose failure in their thinking, they tend to say, “things are not going well because we are doing a lousy job communicating our obviously correct ideas, so we must work on communication, and if that doesn’t work, we will adjust the results of elections so we can stay in control.”

In other words, Pinochets of the left. Instead of helicopters, they have lawfare.

The only real difference between Pinochet and Allende (or any opposing authoritarians) is in the details of what they intend to impose, but the commonality is that they do intend to impose something. A true libertarian says, “leave me the hell alone to do what I want to do, and don’t impose anything other than perhaps such common sense things as that we all drive on the right.”

My sense is, many conservatives are waiting for some draconian imposition so we have a context for counter-revolution. We are not the sort to take pre-emptive steps although the time for those was probably 1990 to 2005.

This regime will be imposed so gradually and in such small increments, that there will never be a right time to rise up against it, but one day it will be obvious that should have happened, and by then, in terms of numbers willing to resist (or able to formulate a rationale for resistance) it will be far too late. I suspect we passed that point around 2015. But you never know, a pitfall for the left is that if brainwashing is too successful, people no longer have the ideological edge of a revolutionary brainwashing (the Che Guevara stage) and may just start from scratch in how they view the world. Or they may just forget to brainwash long enough to lose their control.

    1. Nah,we are just warming up.
Making a list and checking it once or twice.

Being a conservative,I believe in conserving my energy.
So preparation work is essential to performing every task correctly.
We are coming to realize that we must combat the Stupid..

The proper tools must be prepared, the costs and benefits considered and the budget made.
      What shall be “The Plan”..
      Scheduled for what period?
Or do we all become Hog Farmers at home?

It would be insanely stupid to begin such an essential task….unprepared.
      And the Progressive’s are doomed.
While they obsess over firearms,we know every tool is a weapon.
      Every service a trap…
      Life is the deadliest disease.

In my considered opinion,Dread Covid was the final straw,it just has not become obvious yet.

  11. “ I suspect we passed that point around 2015. “

I can pin that down even closer. Oct 19, 2015.

The death of democracy in Canada.

  12. The correct answer is to have legal gas stoves AND drugs.

“It’s way past time we got new people.”

AND mass immigration. Tens of millions per year.

    1. Ah yes, the Libertarian dream.

Unfortunately, it turns out that you can’t have a high-trust, free society -and- mass immigration. Sweden vs. Japan. Right now, super racist, super uptight Japan is winning.

You can have a peaceful place where you don’t have to lock your bike because everybody follows the rules, OR you can have mass immigration. That appears to be how it works, and it does not seem to matter much where the immigrants come from. India, Italy, Indonesia, pretty similar results.

I’m old enough that I used to live in that peaceful place. We called it Canada. I miss it. I’d like it back.

      1. Complete BS. We’ve had nothing but lower and lower crime with more and more immigration. Crime is far lower now than it was 50 years ago. No, you don’t get to have a safe space for touchy white snowflakes. Tough cheese.

Oh and Japan is only ‘winning’ at ‘who can have the most stagnant economy and society’. They’ve been in more or less a depression since 1991, and are running out of people. They will cave and let in the immigrants. No one gets to say no. You will be replaced.

        1. ” No one gets to say no. You will be replaced. ”

And there you have it , from a communist pig’s own piehole.
