5 Things I Truly Don’t Understand About The ‘Inevitable Energy Transition’
In a world that is apparently getting both warmer and colder because of global warming, how is it that we can increasingly rely on non-dispatchable (i.e., intermittent, usually unavailable), weather-dependent electricity from wind and solar plants to displace, not just supplement, dispatchable (i.e., baseload, almost always available) coal, gas, and nuclear power? In other words, if our weather is becoming less predictable, how is it that a consuming economy like ours can, or should even try, predictably rely on weather-dependent resources? ERCOT exemplifies this: the Texas grid operator has around 31,000 MW of wind capacity but goes into winter expecting only 6,000 MW (just 20%) of wind farms to be available to generate electricity. Again, in the marketplace, the “alternatives” you keep hearing about are proving to be far more supplemental than alternative.
Further, good wind and solar spots are finite, based on geography, so new builds, naturally, will be forced into areas that are less windy and less sunny, lowering their already very low 35% capacity factors. And because they devour immense swaths of land, interrupting a whole host of things, that Renewable Rejection Database is mounting very quickly. If wind, solar, and electric cars too are as effective and low-cost as so many keep promising us, there would obviously be no need for government subsidies for broad adoption. Yet, there is, gigantically so. Huge amounts of taxpayer money going into this, what I call “the holy climate panacea triad,” are vulnerable to changing politics and bound to become politically untenable at some point:“Ford Is Losing $66,446 On Every EV It Sells.”

It would seem that we have a lot of insane politicians.
Once again, people running for office need to be able to pass exams on basic Physics, including electricity, and Meteorology. Degrees in law, education, medicine, biology, social justice, environmental “science,” or interior decorating do not qualify.

It’s easy to understand all this once you realize that the clean energy movement isn’t about electricity, or the environment: It’s about controlling wealth and limiting mobility. The people pushing for these initiatives have no interest in how vehicles work, or how power generation works. They don’t care if their initiatives fail to allow society to function as it does now. It’s not supposed to. The people who push for Agenda 2030 believe that we have too much wealth to begin with, and have no problem with the impoverishment of the vast majority of citizens in western nations. Limiting our wealth will limit our ability to consume resources – and will put more power into the hands of the ruling class.
They don’t want you to have an EV: they want you to have no vehicle at all. They don’t care if you have to spend half of your income to heat your home: they think it’s too big anyway. They don’t care if they cripple industry: they never believed it was necessary in the first place. Industry makes things for people to consume, and consumption is bad.
They want you poor, powerless, trapped, and disarmed. Get back in your pod. Eat your bugs. Shut up, and be grateful for the entertainment you are provided. When you become old and ill, you will euthanized. Your organs are needed for someone else.
When the eco-Marxists believe that man is a parasite on the beautiful, natural, pristine planet … then extermination of the pests is both moral and justified. These psychotic numbskulls want us all dead. Soon.

Christopher, you are assuming that once they have control, they will still let us become old and ill. How long before they create a new policy that it’s better to harvest healthy younger organs. I wouldn’t put it past them to create and farm babies purely to euthanize at a prime age, to harvest their organs. They truly are that evil!

As climate science goes word has it that the 1 degree warming CO2 will produce, there will be another 2 degrees as responds from water vapour. How does water vapour knows only to respond to CO2 warming and not to the additional warming from its fellow water vapour molecules? According to their “science” the 2 degree should produce another 2 and than 4 and than 8 and than 16 degree in short order much like a microphone feedback. Is water vapour a snob that only responses to warming from molecules with two oxygen atoms? It might be ever racist to any other warmth producing gas but CO2.

in the meantime the electricity price will keep going up, the reliability will go down. Is it just a case of they are waiting for people to push for another solution like mass nuclear? The elites will use their 100k electric cars, everyone else will walk. Better hope you live 15 minutes from work.
The Climate Nutters are insistent that the cost of electricity generated by solar panes and wind turbines is significantly less than that generated using traditional fossil-fuel-based technology. Why then, must solar farms and wind turbine farms receive massive subsidies? Because these are start-up technologies, whose survival is threatened by the legacy of imaginary capitalist expectations: things like “profit” and “margin” are outmoded fabrications of no importance, invented by racist old white men. Western culture has evolved beyond these outdated and hurtful imaginings.
